After listening to Haugh/Payton the last few weeks the only thing I can come to in regards to Mulligan being fired is that Mulligan was probably let go because he was making too much money. The SCORE didn't bring back Tom Schaer and Mike North because they were making too much money. Seems like Mulligan was let go for the same reason. I can't believe how boring Payton is. I realize he's new to this radio game. I don't think he has ever been on radio before. I can't think of any reason why he was hired except that he has the last name of Payton.

The feedback I'm getting is that most people who live in Bridgeport are more upset about the railyard being built in their neighborhood than they are about the White Sox moving out of the area. I think most people feel the team would be better off in the South Loop. Whether they can put that railyard someplace other than Bridgeport,I don't know.

I remember all of this. I was hoping for another Pro team in Chicago. I grew up in a family of White Sox/Chicago Cardinals fans. I was at the last Chicago Cardinals home game in 1959. If the 2 leagues hadn't merged Chicago would have had another team in the city. The merger killed that.Halas would never allow another team here. They are content having a monopoly of NFL football in Chicago. It doesn't matter if they win or lose, the team sells out all their games. They have a 30 year waiting list for season tickets. There is really no incentive for them to have good teams. They have a goldmine here.

The Chicago Cardinals signed an agreement to play the 1959 season at Dyche stadium.George Halas objected to this. One of the previous Cardinals owners signed an agreement stating he would not move the Cardinals north of Madison avenue. NFL Commisioner Bert Bell agreed with Halas. The Cardinals wound up playing the 1959 season at Soldier Field. If the Cardinals were allowed to play at Dyche Stadium they would not have moved to St. Louis.

I've always found it interesting that the land on Block 78 has never been developed. There's all types of developement north of Roosevelt Road but nothing on Block 78. Was the land too expensive?

I don't have the links anymore but I have seen numerous photos with Art Allyn and then AFL Commisioner Joe Foss. If it would not have been for the merger of the NFL-AFL there would have been a AFL team in Chicago. I read also where Bill Veeck wanted to buy the Oakland Raiders after the 1960 football season and move them into Comiskey Park. It didn't happen. You could probably find this on the internet.

A forgotten part of White Sox history is when White Sox owner Art Allyn in 1967 wanted to build and pay for a new baseball stadium in Block 78. The City of Chicago wouldn't give him the permits to build the stadium. In the early 1960s he also wanted to purchase a AFL franchise for Chicago. It was going to happen but then the NFL + AFL merged and George Halas didn't want another NFL team in Chicago. He wanted to keep the Bears as the only team in Chicago.

JRs greed got the best of him. The 2nd level of suites are unsold/empty and the upper deck is rarely filled up. JR would have been better off money wise if he took the original design which didn't have the 2nd level of suites and the club level which created the miserable upper deck. More people would have bought tickets in the upper deck if it wasn't so high. I've always thought that JR meddling in the stadium design was his biggest mistake as an owner.

Having 40% of the seats in the upper level was crazy.

Its too high and its too steep. Its awful up there. The solution is to have more rows of seats on the lower level. Thats what Pittsburgh did with their stadium.

I've looked at a number of sites in regards to the new stadium. One site pointed out that the proposed stadium has upper decks that are higher than the present stadium upper deck. I hope this isn't true. Everybody has hated the present upper deck. Nobody wants to sit up there. Even after taking off some of the rows of the upper deck, it is too high. I hope they don't make the same mistake with the new stadium. Nobody will want to sit up there.

I would really like to see Hagen Smith replacing Castillo in the starting rotation. Smith keeps getting people out. Why not start him? I'm assuming they plan on putting him in the starting rotation next year. Why not now?

Looking at these proposed photos/maps this would be a great thing for the franchise AND the City of Chicago. With many businesses fleeing the city you have someone willing to develop millions of dollars into the city. This stadium could also have a positive impact on State Street, it would bring more people downtown.

I hope this is done. The sooner the better as far as I'm concerned. It will be a tremendous addition to the franchise.

I would like to think that Castillo is headed for the bullpen. Maybe Hagen Smith will become the new starting pitcher. I'd rather have Smith starting than Castillo.

Mantle was sent down to the minors during the mid 1951 season. He was brought up a few weeks later.

At least Cleveland lost. Magic number is 20. I'm more worried about the lack of hitting than I am about the starting pitching. I was surprised to see Urquidy pitch in the 8th inning. I thought he would start the game Friday night. Maybe Fedde will start tomorrow night or Hagen Smith.

I was surprised that Acuna didn't pinch run in that situation.

I would think that finding another site would have been the way to go. That museum was built with private money. The taxpayers in LA didn't pay anything for the museum.

I'll feel alot better about the new White Sox stadium in the South Loop when they start building it. I just saw on TV the new George Lucas museum that was built in LA. It looks spectacular both inside and outside. It should be a tremendous success. They're expecting millions of people to come see the museum. This same museum was originally suppose to be built in Chicago. Friends of the Park killed it. I would think the City of Chicago would have bent over backwords to get that museum built here. I'm sure they could have offered an alternative site to the lakefront. Opposing that museum being built here was crazy. It would have been a tremendous addition to the city.

Mune has power but it seems that since he came back form the disable list he has not been the same hitter. Could it be he is still hurting from his injury and hasn't recovered from his injury? He looks like he couldn't hit me.

If Amtrak isn't able to upgrade in Bridgeport what other location would be feasible for them?

The 2026 Playoff Invoice were sent out today to season ticket holders like myself. Hopefully they will get into the playoffs.

Latest rumor about the new Bears stadium is it will be built in Arlington Heights but the agreement won't come until after the November 2026 election. The politicians in Illinois will vote for it after the election is over with.

The more I see of Doyle hitting the more I would rather see Pham hitting.
