  1. JR also had a stadium built in a unpopular location and then built a stadium where nobody wants to sit in the upper deck.
  2. I wouldn't think the Pirates are moving anywhere. They pay only $500,000 a year for their stadium lease.
  3. If thats true that is really terrible.Even hard core fans like myself are tired of losing.
  4. DJ must think that White Sox ownership is not going to improve the team this off season.
  5. I read where the Members of the Pittsburgh City Council want to meet with the Pirates owner. They want to discuss if he has any intentions of improving the Pirates. I don't think he has responded to their request. I wonder if some council members from Chicago will request a similar meeting with JR to see his intentions of improving the White Sox and Bulls.
  6. There were years where Oakland drew over 2 million fans a year. The present owner (Fisher, a multi billionaire) could of done the decent thing by selling the team to local owners. Both Bill Gates and Reggie Jackson wanted to buy the team and keep it in the Oakland area. Gates would have built a new stadium with his own money. There is speculation that Fisher will sell the team after the first few years its in Vegas. He should have sold the team to people who wanted to keep it in the Oakland area.
  7. I wonder what the fans reaction would be if the entire 2027 season was wiped out and nothing was settled with the prospect of no baseball in 2028.
  8. Fisher also moved the team out of Oakland. There were investors ( Bill gates and Reggie Jackson) who wanted to buy the team and keep it in Oakland. Fisher moved the team and stabbed the Oakland fans in the back.
  9. If the MLB owners lockout the players for the entire 2027 season, I wonder what the Players Union would do?
  10. JR doesn't care if he's hated by Bulls/White Sox fans. The only thing he cares about is making money. And he has been very good at making money.
  11. I read where 4 of the Cubs players ( Happ, Suzuki, Hoerner and Tallion) have contracts that run thru 2026. The Cubs have no intentions of extending them. It looks to me like Cubs ownership is expecting a lockout for the 2027 season.
  12. In the last 12 seasons the Chicago Bears have had one winning season. What does that say about the Bears ownership?
  13. I've noticed that this subject has over 141,000 views. I wonder if thats a record on this site. Obviously White Sox fans are interested in the thought of a new stadium.
  14. That 277 million dollars is not telling the whole story. They're not counting the national TV money and merchandise money. The total revenue is closer to $400 million dollars.
  15. I wasn't head over heels in regards to Elko. I thought the team didn't give him much of a chance. I remember in one game he hit a home run and later in the game he was pinched hit for. Obviously he doesn't figure in the future plans of the team. i would like to see him traded to another team where he will be given a decent chance to succeed which wasn't the case here in Chicago.
  16. Some people thought that Hahn And Getz had the qualifications to be the GM. How has that turned out? I never viewed MLB as rocket science. I think some fan like myself would do a decent job as the GM. If I was the GM and turned out as bad as Hahn and Getz have been I would resign.
  17. I should write Ishbia a letter requesting to be interviewed for the White Sox GM job. I've written JR in the past about wanting an Interview for the GM job but never received a response from him. Perhaps Ishbia will give me that interview. I would give him an interview he would never forget.
  18. 1) I admit that I was happy when the Brewers won the series. Watching those games made me realize how far removed I am from the National League. Most of the Brewers team was a mystery to me. 2) Watching that last game between the Phillies and LA, I found it amazing how that final game ended. That Phillies pitcher did one of the dumbest things in MLB Playoff history by throwing that ball nowhere near the catcher. When I see plays like that I can't help but wonder if the game was fixed.
  19. I just wish he would make an announcement about the stadium. Whether its about the new stadium or staying where they're at.
  20. The owner of the Rockies has said baseball has 3 tiers. Tier #1 has 6 teams who have a real good chance of winning a championship. Tier #2 has 6 teams who might win a championship. Tier#3 has the other 18 teams who have no chance of winning a championship. It's hard to disagree with him on the subject.
  21. I think you're overlooking something. This present franchise is making big money with these low team payrolls. The team almost moved in the past because the team wasn't making money. That's not the case now. If this franchise was losing money JR would sell the team as fast as he could.
  22. I would think the new owner has alot to say about the new stadium. It appears as if he's going to have to pay for the new stadium not JR.
  23. I agree with you. What I don't like about this new stadium situation is the complete silence from the White Sox owner/new owner, It seems to me that something is going on and we're not hearing anything about it.
  24. If Ishiba is going to pay for a new stadium, I would think it would be cheaper to build it in Nashville as opposed to Chicago. If he is in talks with the ISFA I would think it would be about extending the lease. I don't think the ISFA has anything to do with the 78 location.
