  1. I'm not claiming anything, just pointing out people are generally impatient and judge things way too soon and create reasons to be upset. Plenty of real reasons to be upset without crying about Matthew Thompson . Also if a Getz sunshine blower is a guy who realizes he's dealing with an owner who's basically forced him to operate on the fringes I'll accept that. I see that as reality and the big picture.
  2. Lol I pretty much gave up telling people it's too early for.... Basically everything everyone talks about in sports. Predict the Sox record in January, who won a trade of 2 minor leaguers, Sox All Star Rep in April. Most posts now don't really care about small sample sizes. Every one wants instant validation they were right or want players jettisoned right away. Yes people have a right to declare Flexen sucks when he was acquired and for his 1st 3 starts, but you don't DFA guys you acquire who are projects that you acquire specifically because you are a terrible team and trying to find short term tradable upside . You defeat the purpose of the acquisition by DFAing pitching projects. People don't look at the big picture or just don't care. They need to be angry and pound the table that a GM who has barely gotten his feet wet and is just dealing with fringe players now because he has no budget, sucks and all his trades and signings suck . Every hot streak a player might be ok. Every cold streak he should be DFAd. I just have to keep telling myself welcome to the internet and all the toxicity that message boarding and social media brings where people only communicate in short angry bursts.
  3. I hate Ramirez and Naylor . Brebbia too lol. Double digit wins tonight LFG !
  4. So far so good with Fedde. Hoping for more Sox runs. Fedde usually gives up a bomb and I think it's the worse half of the bullpen night.
  5. Such a weird thing to say. In this alternate universe where Burger is still on the Sox everything is the same except somehow Burger is still on the Sox. It makes no sense. He wouldn't be facing the same pitchers he is with the Sox that he has with the Marlins. Maybe he'd be having a better year.Maybe worse. Maybe he doesn't miss as many games, maybe he misses more. You cannot magically put someone somewhere in a timeline that assumes all other things stay the same . But hey you created that universe and twisted it accordingly. Maybe in my universe hes Mike Schmidt.
  6. I'm talking about the Getz getting pantsed part as if the Sox got crap in return for Cease .
  7. At least someone is still eager to post about the Sox.
  8. He's just being dramatic. Sox got some good pieces .Padres got Cease for 2 years max . I wouldn't put it past them to trade him though but what they'd get back is highly speculative given he's got some starts to go.
  9. No there isn't better talent in AA than AAA. There's more potential perhaps but not talent. Your AAAA types in AAA means they have enough talent to play in the majors but not stick there. If your average AA player had more talent they wouldn't be in AA . Part of your talent comes from experience and adjusting. Plenty of AA players never advance beyond it. Look at Montgomery. Everyone knows he has great potential , but he lacks the experience of fringe MLB types He may have taken all that coaching about plate discipline a little too seriously . Right now he's leaving the bat on his shoulder too much. Experience will teach him how to be a good hitter and still take walks. It's very nuanced and part of the learning curve. AAA is for playing against better more ripened players just a notch below MLB quality.
