Honestly, look at what Celtics fans believe can land Love vs. Bulls fans. Bulls fans are prepared to trade their 2 time all star center, starting 3 and 4 for love and Celts fans think Jared Sullinger and some draft picks are enough.

I am not a Gar/Pax hater, but if they fail to land the big one this year, it is a pattern. Trying is great, but that's for kids. Results are all that matters. If they can't land the big names, it would be time for Jerry and Michael Reinsdorf to hire someone who can.

 

It really makes you wonder where this team would have been if they getting get crazy lucky getting DRose.

The Bulls are a perpetual runner up for everything. It gets old. They can't get anyone to come here from the top level. Again, hopefully they pull this off and prove me wrong this winter.

And I'll join the hate as well if they fail to land Love/Melo/Lebron or to a lesser extent Bosh/Parsons AND another solid guy. I think with Taj being told it's time for him to start it's a foregone conclusion that they will do something this offseason. It sucks this core was never healthy enough to see what they could have done but I just can't blame injuries on the FO.

Re-reading the tweets, let me clarify, Bernstein's was the more definitive "Bulls #1, up to them to make it happen".

 

Broussards said bulls are just very high on the list.

I completely disagree. I don't see him going back to Cleveland. Just don't see him getting past the issues with the owner. I think Lebron is going to end up leaving and the Bulls would be foolish not to make a run; In fact, they should consider all options, including a sign and trade deal which would land both. Bottom line, everything should be on the table and the franchise should be moving to acquire stars at almost any cost. If the team were to do a Love deal, depending on the structure they will still have additional funds. I think Love / Melo should be a plan A2 with Love / Lebron a plan A1 and Lebron being plan A. If you can get Lebron, you do it. We have good depth, etc, and I think he's learned the importance of that and we also have an outstanding coach.

 

I tend to think we end up with Love but I could be wrong. Don't see Melo leaving all that cash on the table which means Houston or NY are more likely choices (given no state income tax in Texas). Lebron is a guy who just might take less to come and in a pinch, we could probably even work out a sign and trade. Add Lebron without having to really gut your franchise and you could find yourself in an ideal situation. You do have to wait another year to bring our euro stud over though, but at least it is another long-term asset to add to the squad and to keep overall depth.

I think if he went to Chicago (with no one else) it wouldn't be near as big of a deal as with the Heat situation where things were cherry picked. I don't think people would have jumped on him like they did with Miami had he signed with Chicago in the first place. Plus, Lebron flat out feels comfortable in his own shadow at this point. I think he is exhausted and doesn't like dealing with the complete lack of depth, etc, that calls for him to consistently carry teams in an era where many teams have multiple above average players, etc.

It wouldn't have been nearly as big of a deal if he just went to another team in a vacuum, but he didn't. The thing is "The Decision" will play into TD2. If he is exhausted from the last time, he for sure won't be considering another organization.
