  2. For sure, just threw Peters in as a guy that is likely to get “crunched” off a starting spot because of the incoming talent…or at least that’s what we should be hoping. Great story and hope he proves me wrong, but probably more of a 4th OF’er long term on a team with championship aspirations
  3. That's legitimately believable.
  4. That's because it's not true. Since July 1st, the Red Sox team BABIP is 299.
  5. That's legitimately insane.
  6. The below is a heat map of where Brazoban has thrown his sinker in 2026. The bottom image is the pitch in question that was hit. You'll notice it's almost like the Red Sox just have a.... scouting report!
  7. Fans don’t really care about “positively spinning” accounting mumbo jumbo. That’s how they ended up sending E.Johnson and Tatis, Jr. to SD in the first place. And both for declining “Big Game/Name” pitchers in Shields and Castillo with obviously diminishing performance/crispness of stuff/peripherals.
  8. In 2002 Oakland went 10-17 in May, 21-7 in June, 24-4 in August. They had a 20-game winning streak and also a 16-1 streak. Oakland lost in the ALDS best of 5 to the Twins 3 games to 2.
  9. Still a 7% decline from GRF to Seattle would be expected. Only surprise is GRF not playing as an offense-first environment, actually 22nd. But there’s still August and early September to go. Also holds true for 2024-25. GRF 19th for offense, Seattle consistently the very worst. baseballsavant.comStatcast Park FactorsBaseball Savant
  10. Also, I am not seeing that as a positive. It means the Sox still aren't willing to take on dollars to defray prospect cost. The logic is if Dominguez really is a great contract to dump, that the inclusion of Boston Smith is what bought it, and that if they had been willing to take on dollars, Smith would still be a Baron. I don't see that as a positive.
  11. What are you doing with Chase then? He's pretty awesome with the glove there.
  12. I'm struggling to see how Castillo suddenly gets paid less because you traded another asset that cost money? Castillo's price is 23 million. This implication that Dominguez is worth zero dollars so his entire salary is an off-set is tough to accept. The Sox lost the player they valued as a 10 million/yr player 6 months ago. That's not some net monetary gain that limits the cost of Castillo on the open market.
  13. Which of those bottom 16 fWAR and slightly beyond would possibly get that $$$? Peralta and Ray? Singer? Merrill Kelly? Springs? Mikolas? You’re not even taking into consideration moving from Castillo’s offense suppressing environment in Seattle to GRF.
  14. https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/major-league?month=0&pos=all&stats=pit&type=8&qual=100&pagenum=3&pageitems=30 3 of the bottom 16 fWAR (out of 91) with over 100 ip Kay Castillo and Fedde
  15. Not really sure it's a guarantee that they tender Bart a contract.
  16. Someone posted this pic awhile back and said Meidroth must love to wake and bake. 🤣 Billy the Kid with flower instead of whiskey.
  17. There's at least 2 and maybe 3 more catchers in our minors right now I'd be OK giving a shot over Romo.
  18. Today

  19. Anyone hear any trash cans in the background?
  20. The Red Sox are rocking a BABIP over .500 on this heater. Nobody can be that lucky, not even if you're cheating. Their luck will start to average out.
  21. This is an incredible thread. Sox get swept, so the other team must be cheating. Brazoban throws his sinker low in the zone because that's where sinkers go, guy goes down and gets it... cheating. I'm having a hard time understanding the logic here. Struggling to understand how it's cheating to be looking for a low sinker from a sinker baller who throws 51% sinkers and hitting it.
  22. That sounds like it could go either way. Is it because of his performance or because he is so dreamy? Or both?
  23. The Sox are limited besides Grichuk for a LF that hits LP. Grich usually DH's against LP. I wouldn't count Acuna jr as a LF that hits LP because of the sample size, plus he really is an emergency OF. I would keep running Sam out there and have Chase lead off. If not next season then 2028, I don't know how the Sox keep Bonemer and Roch off the 26 man team. I would start Bonemer playing LF down in Birmingham. Roch most likely will be the SS.
  24. That was the pitch that made it click for me
  25. Can someone tell me where Billy the Kid fits in his family treee?
  26. Quero never dies!
