  2. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/50292274/early-2027-season-power-rankings Years ago, Bill James coined the "Plexiglas Principle": Teams that improve dramatically in one season tend to decline the next season (and teams that suffer a big decline tend to bounce back). While the White Sox have an exciting young core, after a 24-win improvement from 2025 to 2026, they might fall prey to this theory. They're thin on the pitching side of things, and the offense wasn't as good in the second half, as the strikeouts started piling up. The good news is that general manager Chris Getz has a lot of payroll room to bolster the staff in free agency if that's the direction the franchise chooses. Indeed, it's a long shot, since the White Sox have never signed a $100 million free agent, but making a play for Skubal could be a possible scenario.
  3. Pratt's first Game 5 hit was an RBI single to center that scored Brice Turang and gave Milwaukee an early 1-0 lead. That hit was his fifth consecutive, tying him for the previous rookie World Series record with Brian Doyle, who registered five consecutive hits in the 1978 World Series. Pratt fouled out in his third at-bat of Game 5, which brought his hitting streak to an end. But he still drove in a run, which gave the Brewers a 4-0 lead in the sixth. Baumann Fgraphs ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The past nine years were the best run in Milwaukee Brewers history: eight postseason appearances, six division titles, 869 regular-season wins, for a 93-win-per-season pace over almost a full decade. An MVP, a Cy Young — probably two, by this time next month — and plenty of turnover: two front office bosses, two field managers, 193 players. But 11 teams had been to the World Series since 2018; six had won. Not the Brewers. Until this year. The nervous 12-inning staring contest of Game 4 delayed Milwaukee’s coronation by just one day. Cooper Pratt put the Brewers ahead with an RBI single in the second. Jacob Misiorowski pitched the best game of his postseason career — 5 2/3 scoreless innings with just two singles and a walk allowed — before leaving with a cramp after 86 pitches.
  4. Hahaha!!!! One more reason to enjoy this Brewers championship. Are you still glad you jumped ship to the Scrubs, Counsell? I'm sure he has 40 million reasons he's still glad, but he and the Cubs can suck it. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/craig-counsell-explains-decision-to-leave-brewers-for-cubs-needed-and-wanted-a-new-professional-challenge/
  5. Now that the Brewers have won the World Series, here are the five longest current WS title droughts: Guardians (1948) Padres (never, 1969 expansion) Mariners (never, 1977 expansion) Pirates (1979) Orioles (1982)
  6. I know he's older but I was really impressed with Nick Martinez this playoffs. If we can get him and Detmers, I'd take that in a heartbeat. My dream scenario is King and Detmers.
  7. If we can get a few starters this offseason, we just need him to be the middle class version of himself that he was in September.
  8. Are you referring to what Bernstein said? It’s basically what Bernstein is saying his sources said. Grain of salt.
  9. Happy for the brewers. They are a class organization and have been disrespected for years becuase they don't come from a major media market. But they have been a juggernaut over the last ten years.

  11. Rebounded nicely from being down 1-0 after first batter of the season
  12. I'm currently living in Wisconsin for work and these motherfuckers are crazy. Launching fireworks and gun shots... literally insane.
  13. They have a lot of arms to work with. I'd like to see what Cannon can do as a 1-2 inning reliever....he has some arm. It's now or never to try Taylor as a starter. I figure Vasil is headed that way too, when ready. I also note 2 teams that traded away starters in the offseason: Brewers and Rays (Baz). Orioles, Mets, Rangers, Astros et al were the suckers and held the bag.
  14. Congrats to Milwaukee. Hell of a team, terrific organization. Now we'll see when baseball returns after the lockout.
  15. How specifically was he an asshole? He didn't give off a good vibe btw so I'm not defending him. Just curious
  16. Terrible loss yet again for Bulls

  18. when this team plays bad they play real bad
  19. He’s the Miz, and nobody beats him.
  20. They claim it's only 35-40% Brewers' fans, but my God it's so loud in there... Throwing a guy that's only gone 1 2/3 in the last couple of months...another team that simply ran out of quality relievers this postseason.
  21. Over the Yankees and Red Sox? how did that get past the East Coast editors?
  22. Not sure if posted somewhere already, but SI.com put out a list of 10 most dominant postseason runs, and had the 2005 Sox at #1. https://www.si.com/mlb/most-dominant-postseason-runs-in-mlb-history
