  1. Past hour

  2. I was referencing game 2 of the Cubs series. It’s a silly stat that carries little meaning.
  3. Hicks needs to get back on track.
  4. Cubs traded away their no 2 prospect Jefferson Rojas at the trade deadline and received Clay Holmes. Getz may have competed for Holmes by trading Billy Carlson or even Bonemer. That may have made the difference between winning the Division or not. Guardians traded for OF Jo Adell from the LA Angels for catching prospect Jacob Cozart who became the No. 16 prospct in the Angels system. Getz had a few catcher prospects to make that deal. Instead Getz went for Doyle. I suppose this, like almost everything else that goes wrong, can be blamed on JR and the lack of the financial support promised from Ishbia. Or , more simply, the lack of urgency to win the Division this season leaving this very good team just short of the Guardians.
  5. Even better, comes in the 6th inning in a one run game with the bases loaded and no one out. First guy GIDP, run scores. Second guy K's. Taylor gets a BS. It's a dumb stat to track with middle relievers.
  6. Today

  7. his savant page doesn't match what he's doing at the plate, it's not horrible but not great. I didn't realize he's got a 98th percentile range though. I thought his arm was a lot worse than it actually is, but I think my opinion is skewed from some of his throws from CF to try and get a guy at HP
  8. Mune injury impacted him more than anything but Colson is going to be an issue. Maybe he is playing through something and will move to 1B never year to alleviate that.
  9. That win must have felt pretty good for the offense. I know I enjoyed it.
  10. Example. Taylor comes in with two on and 0 outs in the 7th in a one run game. Gets the first two out. Gives up a single to score the tying run. Blown save per the stats. Yet he was never going to be the pitcher in the 9th to get the save even had he not given up the game tying run which wasn’t his runner anyway. Flawed stat.
  11. https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/major-league?stats=bat&lg=all&type=8&season=2026&month=0&season1=2026&ind=0&pos=cf&qual=350 Updated list. S.Kwan and Trout have really come on strong...but Tristan Peters still well ahead of them. Vargas 2nd at third to McGonigle, Colson all the way down to 14th at SS. Meidroth 6th at second base. Also, Mune 10th at 1B now Bauers Burleson France have all passed him by. Burke 22nd in pitching Cease/Sale in Top 5 Sandy Alcantara and not L.Castillo the name there to acquire...but too late by TDL this year. https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/major-league?stats=pit&lg=all&type=8&season=2026&season1=2026&ind=0&pos=all&month=0&qual=120
  12. Caleb is maybe 25% odds to stick in CF...but we shall see soon enough in the AFL.
  13. I understand that, but a lot of pitchers who go in for holds in the 8th or 7th end up getting credited with a blown save when they weren’t in there for the actual save opp. Therefore, if you’re typically a 7th or 8th inning reliever / setup man, your save percentage will be artificially lower.
  14. I noticed that they play the Indians soon and a couple of times in their remaining games. KC beats Cleveland and loses their ass to us. All is well in the white Sox world.
  15. Holy s%*#! Talk about unexpected. Love it!
  16. Same here. What the f***! Pretty lame soft ass s%*#.
  17. Lead is 3 runs or fewer or tying run at the plate: Save awarded for pitching the final inning and preserving the lead for a team win. Hold awarded for getting at least one out in a save situation and leaving with the lead intact.
  18. I’m telling you - the plan for Kwan is to hit him in the fucking head. Throw Jram on that plan too. Not serious injury “hit in the fucking head” more like knock the helmet off and back them off the plate for the rest of the series “hit in the fucking head”.
  19. I don’t think .500 cuts it IMO. Cleveland is turning it on and have a few meh teams ahead of them. Play .500 and carry out operation SWEEP THE CENTRAL!!! In all seriousness… just take each of the series and sprinkle in a sweep here or there when it comes to our remaining games facing in division opponents. Do that and play .500 ball the rest of the way… we’re golden.
  20. I hope Venable leaves Colson at SS or 3rd tonight against the Texas starter LHP MacKenzie Gore. Colson hangs in there against LHP, maybe he sticks to his approach better. If Mune gets the day off that would be fine by me, maybe come in as a pinch hitter against an RHP.
  21. How many of those were actual save opps in the 9th versus giving up a lead in the 7th or 8th, though?
