What's funny about this is every team in MLB -- EXCEPT the White Sox -- has had a 4 game losing streak. But I guess the Braves season ended when they lost 4 in a row.

Unfortunately many people here forgot how baseball works and think that cold streaks aren’t possible unless your teams sucks.

Why?

Eh I think they’re playing with house money this season. Sure, it’d obviously be great if they stayed competitive and made the playoffs. I don’t think it’s the colossal failure you’re making it out to be if they don’t, though.

Theres a point where patience isn’t warranted and there is a point where it IS warranted… The KW / Hahn era with flashy overrated sissy bitches obviously got to the point where all criticism was 100% deserved. This year however, you look at this team and when they get swept and go through a three or four week period where there is regression - you just tolerate it. Today isn’t a day to jump ship - it’s a day to be stoked that in two days we’ll stock the shelves and it’s also a good time to celebrate playing to a .500 clip while our best offensive threat has been out. Perfect time to get a shot of Mune injected into the team. Hell, these guys still haven’t lost four straight all season - if they do lose tomorrow that’ll be the first time all year. My hope is that we start seeing cleaner baseball and better execution again for the last series before the break and that it continues when the break is over. These dudes have been through a LOT this past month and in some ways, still haven’t lost an ability to surpass our expectations.

White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
So you are white flagging it then?

I just mean this organization had no issues developing and churning out pitching for the last two+ decades. One of the best orgs in the business at doing that. They couldn't develop players to save their life, but pitching was a different story.

Projections land all three potential guys in the top 100 list at 19, 24, and 25 respectively. Whoever we pick will immediately become our top prospect.

This Day In Sox History 7/9...
Even before that Bob Elson would interview guys on the pregame show and they'd get a Zenith transistor radio.

Bottom out and fall apart in the last 80 games, which could happen for a young team especially if they get more injuries. Not saying it will happen but it could although I don't think it likely but we'll see. They have been on a downward trajectory the past 22 games.

A lot of truth in what you are saying but also asking Sox fans for patience is a hard sell. The record since 2007 speaks for itself.

What could the 2026 White Sox do to become "an embarrassment?"
-
Gamethread: 7/9/26 Sox @ Sox, 1:10
Some people just need to understand that when you have a young up and coming team you’re going to have growing pains and lulls that require patience. There isn’t a reason to panic and never has been… just like there isn’t any reason to expect them to win the World Series this year. People need to back away from the ledge, take a breath, and calm to f*** down.

They can have any reliever except for Taylor; heck, any 2 except for Taylor.

Look I'm happy they aren't an embarrassment (although we still have a half season to go remember) and I never predicted they'd lose 100 I said it was possible (and bet you 30 dollars on it) but now that they are being competitive in a mediocre division let's remember, they have an opportunity and aren't taking advantage of it. Put it this way, will you be happy if at the end of the year they win 70 games but weren't able to finish things and put themselves in post season play? That's the dilemma for the fan base. They weren't supposed to be in this position in the first place, but here we are... now they need to take advantage of it. That's what is frustrating.
