  2. 33% K rate for the Mariners AA team and in the AFL. Not too upset about losing him but the Castillo acquisition was a disaster. Wonder if a better player could have been acquired for Smith. I guess we'll never know.
  3. The 2006 team had all the pieces. I think the pitchers just ran out of gas. But that offense was a top 3 offense in franchise history. 90 win team.
  4. It's a fair point. The chairman for the last ~45 years is still the chairman. So from that perspective, the leadership is the same. However, the current baseball decision makers were not responsible for rushing the players you mentioned. We will see is that is a trend that continues, but so far I have not seen it with the current front office.
  5. There is a pattern through their history. You can choose to believe events like 2005 or the "multiple championship window" means the franchise is somehow newly created. It's honestly a happier way to look. I'm certain this time they hired people that will be much better at it. Just like every other time.
  6. I don't think they rushed Braden. I think Braden came up when he was ready but now has to make adjustments at the MLB level......it's ok to do that. Not everyone comes up and rakes, it's all a process.
  7. It's been the same institutional mess for 50+ years. After decades of watching front offices, coaches, and players come and go some fans don't believe things change with a new set of names.
  8. His K rate for his entire time in the minors was right around 25%. He never K'd as much as Bonemer has in his time in the minors.
  9. Most prospects have some glaring flaw that can be compared to another failed player (Colson isn't a failed player....yet). Easy to say "well this guy does the same bad thing as this other guy". But, it's hard not to be excited about Bonemer. I'm curious what the underlying reason for his K rate can be attributed to. Some guys just swing for the fences and sacrifice contact for power. Some guys (Colson) seem to have no plan of attack. Hoping Bonemer is the former. With Colson, it feels like he only has one swing and he also has no idea how pitchers are attacking him. He's clueless and has no ability to shorten his swing. Terrible combo. Bonemer might just be a fucking homer hound, he knows chicks dig the long ball and he wants more long balls.
  10. Pretty good point, Southsider, that seems to be the way it tends to go.
  11. https://www.mlb.com/news/2026-brewers-offense-what-is-working because it's not taught across the system it works for MIL and CLE because they have mostly line drive and not power hitters...and also have more team speed if you make contact on the ground like Braden, without high EV and combine it with low sprint speed...not so good
  12. Colson had 11 HRs across 96 games in A-AA as a 20 year old (mostly in A and A+). Bonemer had 37 homeruns in 132 games across A+-AA. He's hitting for WAY more power. .154 ISO vs a .300 ISO.
  13. In 2006 I thought the Sox made all the right moves to repeat by trading for Jim Thome & Javier Vazquez.
  14. You could argue they rushed Braden and we saw the results of that.
  15. Guess who had a 23.5% K rate in his time at AA as a 20/21 year old?
  16. Don't be hating. He was only 20 years old in AA. 25% SO rate isn't that bad with his power.
  17. Apparently today is also the 5th anniversary of Jerry bringing back TLR.
  18. What do those players have to do with the current sox front office?
  19. The crazy thing with union support, and a lot of potentially high paying jobs out there in these projects, I am surprised they aren't feeling more heat.
  20. Today

  21. Yeah...agree with this...like it or not...Ishbia is leaving 35th & Shields! He is not going to create an entertainment center in that neighborhood. Alderman Lee ought to be out there promoting a vision of what she sees/hopes for this neighborhood. All she is doing now is yelling "no" which is not leadership (and might not work anyway)!
  22. I used to think this, but seeing what the similar teams who did spend and build franchise value are worth these days, it is very clear to me that Jerry literally left billions on the table with his cheap ways in the overall franchise value. This could easily be a 4 to 5 billion franchise if he had invested hard into it. He didn't, and it is worth about half of that.
