  1. Past hour

  2. He's had some good games. I think, at the very least, he should be an adult arm in the room who can give you some innings.
  3. Yeah, but why? He was effective over the years and as recently as last season. Any idea what happened to him?
  4. I posted this and it’s probably worth it even if he sucks cuz he should cost nothing. However, it looks like his strikeouts are way down compared to previous years for some reason so he may not help much.
  5. If Kay finishes the season strong, I think he could actually have decent trade value in the offseason. He will essentially be on a 1 year/$6 million contract, but I doubt he is part of the long term plans here. As such, it could make sense to flip him. I’d like a rotation of Burke/free agent signing/trade acquisition/Martin/Castillo. Go package up some prospects for a proven top of the rotation guy and then spend some money on another proven arm.
  6. Don’t forget PCA as your NL MVP. Sorry, had to do a little @ron883 trolling there.
  7. I also wouldn't be opposed to the White Sox adding depth and signing Zack Littel for the rest of the season.
  8. You are right about catcher, but that’s how quickly it changed. I thought they were stacked at catcher and reserves in the offseason. It looked good on paper — Teel, Quero, Lee, and Romo.
  9. Dodgers are built for the postseason. And I'm sure a lot of their guys are just going through the motions. You'll see them turn it on in September. I think we get Dodgers v Red Sox. The Red Sox are just a buzz saw right now.
  10. I think you trade Kay. With that stated, I wouldn't be opposed to doing this old school and bringing these guys up as bullpen guys or using an opener for them as they get a feel. They have to get used to major league hitting and there's only oh so much you can do in the minors. For Castillo, someone else smartly pointed out - with the lockout looming next year, we may not get baseball at all. Therefore, Luis will not reach 180IP and that option becomes void. So effectively, they may only have him for this year. A bigger problem to me is catching. I felt like we had way too many C in the system just two years ago. Now, they haven't panned out either due to injury or talent. I'm at the point of finding Korey Lee's post because it can't be any worse. Heck, I would've given Boston Smith a chance at this point. I was one of those who didn't think C was that important for Getz to acquire at the deadline, but now I'm realizing, they probably should've looked for a solution there.
  11. You have a point. They were literally two acquisitions away from doing what you said. Instead, we get this and Lee/Haase soon.
  12. Then Cubs and Red Sox in the World Series. Big TV ratings except on the South side.
  13. I hope you are wrong but I think you will end up being right.
  14. It’s SLUMPBUSTER TIME, baby!!! I have come out of retirement for this one day only to create this game thread that will put an end to those scumbag Guardians! It’s over, you vile scum…
  15. These call-up’s got me thinking about the rotation plan for next year. Burke, Martin, Castillo, & Kay all under control through 2027. Then you have the big three SP prospects in Schultz, Hagen, & McDougal. Finally, you got Thorpe & Shane as additional depth options. I think don’t think you can enter 2027 with five of those guys as your rotation and call yourself a serious contender. A legit TOR starter needs to be added. However, I also think you can’t block all your major prospects and forgoe that long-term development. Getz has to find a way to balance these two priorities. This is part of the reason I found the Castillo trade so peculiar. He is all but guaranteed a spot that could have gone to a more impactful pitcher. Do they trade Kay or use him as their swingman? This is obviously a good problem to have, but only if you go out and get that big fish in free agency. Castillo is at best a mid rotation guy and none of the prospects should counted on for more the back of the rotation performance given their 2026 seasons.

The only way to purge the bad vibes from last night is to have a "Where's Ja???" night

I think it's time for a Ja Rule Demolition Night.
  18. As of now, the Yankees would play the Red Sox in the wild card round/
  19. Yeah, no doubt about that. I was a freshman in college when Get Rich or Die Tryin came out so In Da Club is an all time favorite. But after that album, 50 Cent started making some really cringe rap-pop singles. 50 is hands down the better rapper, but Ja Rule was better at making those specific type of songs.

Guys, it's possible they just lost to the Red Sox.
  21. I like it. Screw it, let them learn the growing pains now. We are a year or two ahead of schedule. I rather go down with my best. I still would've left Noah up, but pitched him out of the bullpen for some gas. And I would call up Thorpe. He had some good stuff. Have him as an opener at the very least since his type of surgery usually takes a half year of actual pitching to get the good feels going. Schultz & Smith to the pen
  22. Hagen Smith since switching to relief (6.1 & 5.1 IP respectively): With 1st appearance: 14.21 K/9 | 5.68 BB/9 | 0.00 HR/9 | 1.42 ERA | 2.27 FIP W/o 1st appearance: 13.50 K/9 | 1.69 BB/9 | 0.00 HR/9 | 0.00 ERA | 1.10 FIP Obviously SSS’s, but he’s been incredible over his last 5 appearances with 8 K’s to just 1 BB. I know people freak out about his velocity, but that may very well be intentional to better command his pitches.
  23. Yep, I think the Sox are not absolved of blame. They knew during first pitch whether guy was going to show up. They wanted the concessions, which they would've received anyway since it was African Heritage Night, the team is good, it's a battle for first place. I thought that was in poor taste. Either way, I guess ever since Spirit shut down, Ja Rule can't afford to catch a flight.
  24. In Da Club clears anything Ja Rule put out by miles.
