  1. Past hour

  2. If they weren’t competitive, Schultz would still be here trying to figure it out, they probably would have given Smith a shot too, possibly MacDougal too. And none of us would care Schultz was struggling like that because it was developmental. Being competitive changed everything.
  3. Question for the doctors and physical therapists on the board: if Schultz can’t use his optimal mechanics due to his leg/knee issues, is that something they could fix with a minor surgery?
  4. You're wrong. Getz thought this team would contend this year. The only other person who thought this team would contend is me.
  5. I’m not saying they should have gutted the farm system. Development year or not, having barely half a starting rotation is just extremely poor planning.
  6. This isn’t negligence at all. This was a developmental year that surprised every one of us by being competitive. Not one person on this site was thinking playoff rotation in March, we all were thinking about gaining innings and flip candidates This is rough but honestly gutting the minors for a mild chance at running through the playoffs was not a choice I would have made either, and I was excited for the deadline.
  7. I’m of opposite view…either prospect hugging or simply not having guys with value outside the top few
  8. Despite the claims otherwise, the package of work done the deadline screams payroll restrictions.
  9. Wind blowing in now at least
  10. Today (Wednesday) will be the third time in the past six games. That's not good.
  11. I forgot about that bum. I guess we'll be seeing him today.
  12. I hear you but to be fair as I've posted before, Getz never in his wildest dreams, expected the team to be in this position this season. He probably thought it was going to be another development season, maybe win 75 gams so nothing really was done this past off season. Now throw in the Sox unable to keep pitchers healthy anymore, JR refusing to pay the going rate to good pitchers and this is where you are at. That being said Getz may ultimately have to take the blame for not doing more at the deadline. Although we don't know what was being asked for pitchers or what JR allowed him to do regarding the payroll.
  13. Can they put you under during the game to save you the pain?
  14. After the last two long nights I'm fortunate that I'll be at my surgeons office this afternoon for the follow up to the rotator cuff surgery I had on August 6. I'll feel a lot better not following this one. Who knows, maybe they won't urinate away another lead after the 7th inning like the last two nights.
  15. Ranking former White Sox managers in order of competence is almost as fun as Bears' head coaches.
  16. Nestor Cortes signed with the Phillies. The Sox were in on him apparently, according to Francys Romero.
  17. Cubs did their homework. “Just keep throwing splitters”.
  18. That’ll happen when your main catcher who’s supposed to be an anchor in the lineup and in the field is hurt for the majority of the season, and when the backup you thought was going to be good isn’t even on the roster when the main guy is hurt after bringing in two other catchers.
  19. Isn’t that what Urquidy is for?
  20. Grif > Venable. Easily!
  21. He definitely needs another pitch against lefties. Regardless, we need somebody to eat innings against the Cubs today. Whether that he Sandlin or Thorpe.
  22. Sandlin, in his limited innings, has some of the most extreme splits I’ve ever seen. OPS of .444 vs righties, 1.005 vs lefties
  23. Fegan is great. With that said, a lot of excuses by Bannister.
