  1. Past hour
  2. Rather, let's deal a newly realized elite Robert to the Mets.
  3. I’m not saying he’s worth it, but you have to remember with these insane long-term contracts that the AAV’s are very much diluted by back years with limited expected production. Tucker’s contract very much makes sense for expected production over the next four years.
  4. Yeah, I think of it more like who could push to the OF out of Baty, Mauricio, Acuna (pass), Vientos (not likely). I'd really like to target Santucci as the 2nd piece in a deal.
  5. Or, we could just move our own surplus IFs to the OF and save our assets.
  6. I think the Sox have been intrigued by the possibility of LuisAngel Acuña in CF. Baty has played LF. Baty could also push Vargas into the OF.
  7. I wouldn’t even want to play any of the infielders the Mets could trade us in the infield over any of the guys currently here. Someone moving to CF like Acuna? Maybe. Just don’t really want him either unless something or two more enticing came with him.
  8. Feels like a move made to not look dumb after Tweeting about watching for smoke lol
  9. I mean, I wouldn't think they'd want one.. But if it's also the best offer you get by quite a bit, you just take it.
  10. Unless to have a line to the McCaskeys, that is impossible to know
  11. I think that's where this is leading to eventually .Not sure baseball would have a cap without a floor though. Baseball doesnt want teams to fold and the players union doesnt want less jobs .The owners keep making the season longer and longer for extra playoff money . Something has to give. Fans will become more bored and angry with the Dodgers and whoever wins in the AL . Some gambling addicted angry fan who lost everything is going to come out guns blazing one day at some rich player who went 0-5 or dropped a pass . Fan's will find other means of entertainment. Can't keep milking them in this volatile political and economic situation.
  12. I 've been told the Bears will build their stadium in Indiana and be the owner of the stadium and lease the land. Is that possible? Would this be because this is the way to avoid paying property taxes on the stadium? If they did lease the land, I wonder how much it would cost them to lease the land?
  13. Ok, now let’s deal a discounted Robert to Mets lol
  14. So maybe a salary cap won't be as far fetched a reality as we all thought.
  15. Why is it better that so many teams refuse to compete and to bring the league down to that level?
  16. Put up a 3.1 WAR season while playing a new position. The Cubs aren’t just going to give him away. They’re better off holding onto him for injuries and when/if Nico leaves
  17. Conforto is a washed player. He has been for past many years.......let Baldwin play instead of bringing in crap like conforto
  18. Also, Mets were better off just keeping Alonso I feel
  19. Everyone associated with the Dodgers organization including their fans and minor league teams, and Japan, which in turn is good for MLB. And theoretically it should make other teams also want to do and spend more to win, but greed is a powerful thing. I don't think the reality of Ohtani can be ignored here though. If there is no Ohtani I'd bet the Dodgers wouldn't be spending on players like they are. They get so much more money from him just being on the team. It's just like with Jordan and what he did with the Bulls. Made them a global sensation and that has lingered even to this day as they've been completely mediocre since his last days. The Bulls have money like they do today because of MJ (they just have a cheap ass owner that is also incompetent). The Dodgers have money because of Ohtani.
  20. And yet they plan on adding 2 more expansion teams and realigning the divisions and letting the abyss between the haves and have nots widen . 162 game schedule with more games likely added to a playoff structure with 8 divisions winners and 4 team divisions once there are 32 teams. Playoff snow games with playoffs expanding into November. The players union will eventually crack with the disparity in wages of top earners and all the other players . 3 players on the Dodgers roster make more in one year than the 26 man rosters of multiple teams. The needs of the many will eventually trump the needs of the few or Baseball will break .There will be more and more gambling scandals in coming years. That can of worms is just going to get messier and messier.
  21. Not so sure about that, but we will likely never know either way.
  22. The asking price would have been Schultz or something along those lines
