  2. Yes I would. I think there is a valid argument that they would be better off trading him for a SP, but Miller is just so good and would secure the closer spot for years to come. I think Bonemer is a great talent but with Roch/Emerson coming, I don’t view him as untouchable.
  3. Easily the guy I’d trade most on main roster. Ant is gonna have to move off LF eventually. His defense is not good out there.
  4. I agree. I also think Hagen’s floor is an elite bullpen weapon, so don’t want to deal him and a bunch of other stuff for an already elite reliever.
  5. Stop trying to trade Meidroth!
  6. He's a pitcher. Look at _____ other the years. They are highly variable and often some mature later than others. He's an asset and one I'd hate to give up on with zero service time to get a guy that even in a good year, is pitching 80 innings.
  7. He's a not top 100 prospect already.
  8. I think there is a good chance the Padres are looking to trade Machado or Bogaerts with packaging Mason Miller with one of them to get them off their books. I don't think Boegarts that is really possible but maybe with Machado. To be clear, they would need to eat a good portion of that contract still.
  9. Probably not. Padres sent Leo De Vries to get Mason Miller. If they were able to get back a top-20 prospect, that would be a huge win for them. I think Hagen Smith with another prospect would be interesting for us, though.
  10. With an upcoming 40 man roster crunch, You’d give up Bonemer for him?
  11. You have faith Smith will turn it around? I don’t even think he’s a top 100 prospect after next week’s draft.
  12. Devil's advocate: this could be the highest value Smith has if it's proven later this year he can't go deep in games and is a RP, and/or can't throw strikes at the MLB level. If the right deal is there for a cost-controlled MLB level pitcher, I would definitely consider moving Smith if the player coming back is good enough.
  13. Gross. Trading low is dumb on smith.
  14. Would never happen, but if they want a package with Hagen Smith and Meidroth and any minor leaguer not named Bonemer….go for it
  15. It might be a hot take, but I’d trade any prospect in the system for Mason Miller. I know people will say giving up a massive haul for a reliever is a risk, but he’s automatic and has 3.5 years of control. He’s a massive difference maker.

  17. Probably mostly a roster crunch issue. They obviously liked him to some extent to target him in the Houser trade, but his path to our 26 man roster was going to prove challenging.
  18. I under stand. Is Braden fast enough to cover center? I also wonder if Banana Boy is for real.
  19. Thread drift but I think letting him DH and resting twice a week has rejuvenated his bat.
  20. Don't sell yourself short Dirty Sox. You're a TREMENDOUS DUMMY.
  21. Even Benny was a legitimately great hitter in June (.284/.360/.597).
  22. Congrats to Ben Peoples on his MLB debut. 2 scoreless with 2 hits and 1 K. Not an indictment of the trade just noting the guy made it and for whatever reason it didn't seem it was going to happen here.
  23. Today's dive will be posted in a couple hours as an appetizer for the USMNT game. The player will be our All Star and a great Sox development and scouting success story: Miguel, "Swag on 100" Vargas.
  24. That's what quality youth brings. Beni is still an albatross really, but as the only one, it's manageable. We've had some good fortune (Peters, e.g) but it's about darn time. And yes I'm greedy: We should have been 1/1 last year and getting ready to bring up Cade Anderson. We didn't tank 2023-25: we just suc##ed.
  25. It's honestly a bit of a fairy tale if you'd say that 18 months ago coming off that season that in 1.5 years you'd have a .530 winning percentage, a positive RD, a 78 million dollar payroll with no bad contracts other than one remaining Beni year, a 20 WAR type position player core -- and oh, you get the 1,1 too, with all the benefits that entails throughout the draft.
  26. He’s actively on a rehab assignment right now in High A, so he’s working his way back from injury at a normal pace. When I say “fast track” I mean punting on his development as a SP, including building up arm strength, to instead help the major league bullpen whenever he is fully healthy and the rest is warm off.
