  2. The White Sox are going to have to deal eventually. Whether they take Emerson or Roch, you have to project them to the infield. You have Vargas, Meidroth and Monty there right now. Meidroth might be the odd man out.

  4. Well, I get that, but I highly doubt a catcher would ever beat out two top tier SS options for athleticism. There's a reason good organizations focus on SS profiles - they can literally be moved anywhere. Drafting a C to simply move him to the OF feels like poor scouting or drafting for need. If you take Lackey at 1.1 he better damn well stay at C or his value plummets IMO because you're banking on the bat to carry him. I'd rather take a chance on Emerson's potential if they aren't taking Roch.
  5. Jacob Gonzalez sorta 1B...and part of the $$$ on Rodriguez's remaining contract. Doubt it happens. DBacks seem most interested in financial relief.
  6. Jinxed. 6-1 Lead turns to 7-6 deficit including an overturn at home which could have given Colorado the game. 7-7 to the 11th Sanzatela at 98-99 First LAD game to extras this season. Second longest such streak in mlb history.
  7. Not if Lackey has a better hit / power / athleticism profile and would excel in a move to the outfield. Two of the three propositions there are generally believed to be true. I just need to make a pact with myself to not talk about the draft until Friday. 🤣
  8. You’re correct that some of them won’t require a spot until the offseason, but there are other guys who may need a spot at some in Hagen Smith, Adams, Iriarte, & Pallette that were ahead of Peoples. There is still good reason not to add more pain to the problem.
  9. So they want Beni? A Beni + prospects swap for Rodriguez actually makes some sense.
  10. Si.com doesn't have any authors left? SIFive MLB All-Stars Most Likely to Be Traded This SeasonThese players are set to represent their respective teams in next week’s All-Star Game. But they may be wearing a different uniform after the trade deadline. Left-handed first baseman/DH According to MLB insider Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Diamondbacks are planning to target one specific type of hitter at the deadline. "The Diamondbacks expect to pursue a left-handed first baseman/DH type at the deadline, people briefed on their plans say," Rosenthal writes...
  11. I can't see the Sox passing on both Roch and Emerson to grab a catcher. Lackey is talented, but drafting him would be absolutely overthinking the entire process.
  12. The past couple of days are the first we’ve heard the FO being linked to Lackey by any writers from what I recall. Have you heard anything yourself first or second hand to corroborate?

I sure as hell hope not. Nobody wants “He Who Shall Not Be Named” v2.0

    Don’t take away my Romero.
  15. I know but I couldn't find it. Feel free to move this if you'd like.
  16. Which to be fair may not be until next season (if they have one...)regarding the pitchers.
  17. Yea, exactly my trepidation that he’s due to regress back to his average mediocre performance.
  18. Ho-hum. 106-56 pace at the moment...
  19. He's owed a decent amount of money still (around $30 million until 2028). He was also terrible the past 2 years and his peripherals this year are way worse than his ERA (FIP of 4). I wouldn't pay anything of note for him unless the Diamondbacks are picking up money.
  20. Do we think he can continue the pace he’s on this year and would we be able to project him accepting the mutual opt in for 28 if we see him continue to preform? What type of prospect capitol are we talking? Those are the questions I think arise with him.
  21. Braden Montgomery doesn't have the initial burst/range to play CF. He's fine in RF, although his arm accuracy has just been a tad bit disappointing so far in the early stages.
  22. whoops - brain fart. 🤣
  23. Eduardo Rodriguez connected to the Sox as a possible trade fit...at si.com.
  24. The problem isn’t the immediate opening of a roster spot…it’s what happens when the seven or eight guys on the 60 day IL come back.
  25. I was being facetious because she loves lefties so much. We actually need more right handed bats with how the lineup is currently constructed. Not that that should impact the decision.
