Schultz to the bullpen as he nears his innings limit?
I doubt it's much more than that after 73 last year and 88 the year prior. Maybe 110?
-
At what point do we start to believe?
86 wins definitely nets us a playoff spot. I think our success in the playoffs is linked with some form of home field advantage.

Schultz to the bullpen as he nears his innings limit?
What do you think his innings limit is? It can’t be only 100, right?

Your First Place Chicago White Sox vs. The NY Yankers 6:40 CT
Feels like the first big, old school blockbuster series of the year with two of the best teams in the AL. Gonna feel like the ALCS.

Tonight could determine if Schultz is going to stay on the big league roster. Important game for the kid.

8th in fWAR for position players at 14.5. 10th in wRC+ and 7th in xWOBA. So maybe a little bad BABIP luck last month. Defense has slumped the last month, back to -12.5 runs below average. Vargas and Colson the main culprits there. 17th in fWAR for pitching. We have moved up slightly in FIP, at 18th as well. I don't really rate xFIP anymore but we are 21st if you think it filters out some batted ball luck. So yea, a .530 team feels fair. We need to get Colson playing like an All Star again and get Mune heated up to make a push for 88 wins.

Will we see another Strokin Sox offensive explosion ( Mune Style )? Will Noah Schultz shock the world and shove? Tune in on your bat phone, transistor radio, tube television, or from your seat in the park! LETS FUCKING GO WHITE SOX!!! WIN DIS DING!!!

Schultz to the bullpen as he nears his innings limit?
I agree. They have put him in a tough spot trying to learn on the job at the highest level in the middle of a divisional race. But part of that is because of the situation the Sox put themselves in and were a victim of, namely a lack of quality, healthy pitching at a lot of levels and in roster acquisition.

Munemania: He has power
Thanks, that makes sense. I'd def do a shrimp roll. On a related note, salmon skin really is the bacon of the sea. Surprisingly good as a roll.

Schultz to the bullpen as he nears his innings limit?
It's a great question. They've totally changed who Schultz is. He's throwing 6 pitches with a higher slot and he's got too many voices. I believe a simplification is coming.

Trade Haul Reflections by the Numbers
TBH, ontologically I've never agreed with Trade Winds as a sub forum of Pale Hose Talk.

Interesting you feel that way. I just don't see how you can do business when you don't know what the ground rules and requirements and boundaries are going to be until the next CBA is settled. The owners are for now, making demands that would fundamentally alter how player deals are done (i.e. salary cap, length of contracts et al). Unless it is agreed to upon a settlement that any deals done would be grandfather in as exceptions before the new CBA signing, I can't see anybody taking that risk. We'll see. That's if a season is even played.

Schultz to the bullpen as he nears his innings limit?
Why make all these changes while he is in the MLB? Seems like something to work on in the minors.

Schultz to the bullpen as he nears his innings limit?
There's a lot going on with Schultz. Lots of changes being worked on etc. I think the org has failed him but regardless, a role shift is likely coming due to innings.

Trade Haul Reflections by the Numbers
But some of the ones that do turn out - hoo boy! The Sox have made some epically stupid trades of prospects that really turned out. Another example is that total douchebag that the Mets traded to the North Siders. Does this mean I think the Sox should have a cowardly approach to trading prospects at this year's deadline? NO! But there's a ton of weight behind some of the 2 to 3 that do turn out. Getz has his work cut out for him this week: help put the Sox over the top while not becoming Kenny 2.0.

I disagree. I expect a lot of activity in November; similarly to the last lockout.

Schultz to the bullpen as he nears his innings limit?
I’m not ready to make that call, but if they want to go that path, then the point holds and he builds up innings at Charlotte.

Why would we want Torrens? Our problem is we have multiple catchers that our pitchers enjoy throwing to, that can’t hit. This is not upgrading that problem
