  2. We should consider doing one of both…a controllable SP and a rental SP with a big contract whose salary will weigh down the prospect cost.
  3. I don't know. Angels never trade guys and dudes like this with 2.5 years of control don't often move due to asking price. I've heard they asked the Cubs for Hartshorn and Ben Brown. Bonemer or Braden Montgomery plus
  4. They won’t get a Bonemer level talent for Detmers. I’m sure they’re asking, but at some point they will concede to market value.
  5. 5 days to go and not only has nothing of substance really happened leaguewide, but there hasn't even been many legit rumors. I suppose this is a function of the new reality that there are less known sellers with the expanded playoffs.
  6. I think Carlson is about as good as a headliner that Detmers will command. After that it’s hard to say, but Quero is a post hype former top 100 guy and Adams is a major league ready SP who is 26 years old and lacks ceiling. To me it feels about right and the fact people here see at being too much & too little suggests it may not be too far off.
  7. Detmers just turned 27, has two more years of cheap control, and looks like he has turned the corner. If the rumor that Getz doesn’t want to give up top prospects and would prefer to take on money, Detmers isn’t even a fit anyways.
  8. I bet they are asking for Bonemer.
  9. What would be astronomical for the Sox?
  10. I agree that’s almost always the case…I just think no team is in need of a controllable SP more than us and Getz push hard to land one.
  11. Dude…this is nowhere close to reality. Detmers is a former top 50 prospect who finally figured things out under Mike Maddux and who currently has the peripherals of a high end SP. His value with 2 1/3 years of control is going to be very high. People pay for expected go-forward performance and not past. Meanwhile, Lodise isn’t even an org top 20 guy for me and Bergolla is semi interesting due to age & hit tool, but lacks ceiling and is also currently injured again. They are nothing but secondary pieces in a trade for Detmers. Fine if you don’t like the player or price, but let’s avoid creating false realities here.
  12. Even if Noah’s father feels that way, I doubt he would ever say it publicly as long as his son is with the Sox organization.
  13. Will require more than that.
  14. Really? Wow. I already thought pitchers were going to be outrageously expensive but even I’m surprised by that.
  15. You need to start posting only legit insiders, like Bartolo’s bungholio.
  16. I would bet money that package is better than what he goes for.
  17. Detmers is pretty damn good.
  18. We have a new Foodies invasion. Instead of food it’s just stock photo normie guys
  19. Good eye. It's a stock photo https://tineye.com/search/6ad0d4a58793380a3b61991570f2bd0847a25962?sort=score&order=desc&page=1
  20. It’s really hard for me to see Hagen succeed in the bullpen when his biggest problem is putting it over the plate.
  21. Well that is awful decision making by the White Sox if they are willing to give up a high upside prospect like Carlson for a pitcher like Detmers. It is paying a premium for cost control vs. eliteness and that is not a trade off this organization should ever make. If you want to move Carlson in a package for Miller - I don't love it, but I get behind the fact you are getting an elite cost controlled player, but at a less premium position. That is an acceptable trade off.
  22. I said a couple of years ago that a great yardmarker of success would be how the trio of Taylor, Hagen, and Schultz ended up. So far, the needle isn't pointing up.
  23. If this was the price for Detmers, I think he'd be here already.
  24. The Fegan piece is great. Schultz has to be close to the innings limit, regardless. They've made lots of changes with him that seem unnecessary. There have been many pitching development issues this year. I don't know who is to blame necessary but none of Schultz, Smith, Taylor, McDougal or Oppor is currently starting every 5th day in the majors on a big league workload and I personally think that's an issue. Schultz likely goes to bullpen role after the deadline I'd think. You seem pretty confrontational for no reason though.
  25. My official prediction is Carlson, Quero, & Adams and I think most people will hate that.
