I believe he's talking about how the Sox could have had Keaschul for Fedde straight up right there.

Tanner McDougal and Hagen Smith promoted, Sandlin and Schultz optioned to AAA
Get a big lead tonight and bring in McDougal with his high-octane gas for his MLB debut.

Not while giving up 2 baserunners an inning. He’s a 26-year old project and I don’t think I would have dumped Gonzalez over him.

Joe Rock kinda rocks. Excellent surname aside, 6'6 lefties with huge K rates don't grow on trees. Tyler Gilbert and Tyler Davis are still on the 40man. s%*#, I would've kept Wikelman over Cannon.

Smith has such a funky ass delivery and appears to have tremendous spin rates on all his pitches based on how early some guys were committing. To me it looks like something you can work with, even rocking a very high walk rate. We'll see how he looks when teams get better data, but that was a pretty solid debut. If he's coming out of the pen he just needs 30 juiced pitches so if he walks someone, go get that strikeout at max effort next batter.

Sox interested in Jorge Mateo
I find those numbers shocking, honestly. July he had a .653 OPS, .750 so far in August. I think it's these numbers that make me believe he's not hitting..... Runners on this season, a .607 OPS RISP this season, a .404 OPS

BWAHAHAHAHA!!! Everyone else can get hit by a car! Sounds horrible, but not intentional. He was known for making blunders like this

It's common for the rankings to be behind the reality. They are really a lagging indicator. Jake Eder was still ranked in the top 100 when the Sox traded for him. And from a trading standpoint, I think it's a lot easier to trade a pass-along prospect like B. Smith than it is to trade one that you drafted and developed. The sense of loss is less. Somehow the Nats, who originally traded B Smith, ended up with a promising young pitcher; we ended up with a year and 2 months of an expensive pitcher who appears to be on his last legs.

Is Grich the weak link? .896 OPS vL, .837 OPS total since break. I dunno who you're gonna find on the waiver wire that beats that.

Mateo actually has a higher spring speed than Acuna but agree overall, may not be worth it regardless. Edit:formatting got screwed up

Tanner McDougal and Hagen Smith promoted, Sandlin and Schultz optioned to AAA
Saying he was 25% of the Crochet trade doesn't mean he was worth 25% of that trades value, y'all are reading s%*# into something that I didn't say or mean, here's what I did mean: All 4 players in that trade were valuable, this wasn't a Nolan Jones throw in piece of garbage. the salient point here is this was a decently valuable piece that got hurt, and hasnt been the same since coming off the IL. and because the Sox put him on the 40 man last year, he's another guy who they don't have the luxury of using a 40man spot for, just like a bunch of other guys who some others here have stated were dumped for nothing you cannot sit here and say roster management has been a strong suit for Getz this year

I wasn’t trying to say he was bad. That just ended up being a funny situation. DJ and Farmer were way better than Stone and Schriffen for sure.

I can see that as well. This guy is supposed to be very solid at SS as well FWIW. Acuna seems to get a long well with the club and if we have to cut him here I agree, if he has an option might be worth considering if Getz has a good idea of the personality of Mateo and if he'd be willing to be the 26th man.

I don't think the squeeze is worth the juice. Mateo is, at best, a very marginal improvement over Luisangel. Acuna is a magician at SS, is faster, and is already comfortable in his role on this team. Mateo may provide a bit more at the dish but that's about the only advantage he has. Luisangel isn't the issue with this team. We need to be finding a replacement for Grichuk....he's clearly the weak link on this roster at this point in the season.

FG's database is all screwed up but it seems like he's slightly better than Acuna and we don't need another CF with Doyle added. Does Acuna have an option year? If so easy call. I appreciate what Acuna has done as the 26th man but if we can get better lets do it.

Farmer was the best bad announcer of all time. He had a great voice for radio and would go off on tangents instead of calling the game but he was easy on the ears in a way a lot of rambling announcers are not.

How do we feel about the Tim Anderson retirement game
While I agree farmer wasn't a good announcer overall (he didn't 'tell you what was happening' or 'tell you the score'), DJ and Farmer would have be in stitches while driving. Benetti's humor i liked but it was more 'I understand you are being humorous', while Farmer and DJ are genuinely weird dudes and it would kill me.
