  1. Past hour
  2. You’ve earned another shot with this post. Welcome to the light.
  3. This has basically been my calculus as well, with some different logic for Lackey since my hope with him would be to see if he could stick in center. Rock it in on July 11th with Thome hopefully in round 2. Seems to me that Thome and Emerson aren’t too far apart so you’d kind of be able to get near the prospect capital as the consensus top two talents.
  4. Bad memories linger from that one Britt Burns pitch that ended the season for the great '83 White Sox. That ending only makes me realize how hard it is to even get to that point. We keep asking ourselves as White Sox fans, "are they really this good?" And this team continues to answer that in the affirmative. This team has what it takes to go for it...all of it. There , I said it.
  5. LOL The Banana Splits song. God forbid you're as old as me. I watched that show as a kid. Tra la la, la la la la, tra la la, la la la laaaaaa.
  6. Welcome back sweet cheeks 😘
  7. You really don't think JR would add during a season where they are playoff contenders? Especially with his age? He's spent plenty of times when the team was competitive. He absolutely loves his White Sox. I 100% think he'd want to take one more chance while he is still alive.
  8. The way you think and the way JR thinks are probably miles apart.
  9. I've been on the Roch train for the last month or so, for many of the reasons Jimmy has posted. I'd rather draft a SS over a catcher. They're more productive because they play more often and their body doesn't get beaten down like catchers. Catchers also tend to develop slowly. I don't see a big enough gap between Emerson and Roch that would lead me to wanting Emerson. Higher volatility and longer development time for the highschooler. Roch fits the timeline. He could make it up here next season potentially. He's a really safe pick. His floor is a guy like Dansby Swanson. As others have said, he could be a guy like Tulo. Just pick him.
  10. Today
  11. Ideally, that’s what they say. But the Sox haven’t shown the ability to consistently draft and develop in the upper quartile: and consistently behind the Twins, Tigers and Guardians. And is it really true anyway? Everyone was beating on the Orioles for not cashing in some prospects for veteran pitching. Well they finally did (Rogers, Baz, Burnes) – and they got decidedly worse. There are other things you can do with “excess” prospects: like trade for someone else’s excess in pitching prospects. And for the Sox, young-for-old trades have been singularly non-productive. I think pretty much 100% of June/July trades have been, at best, non-productive with several absolute disasters. The only exceptions are the Blum in 2005 (a minor trade for a utility IF) and the Contreras/Loiza flip in 2004 (not a young-for-old trade).
  12. Every guy who had an at bat got a hit. Nice team effort.
  13. Yeah, the notion that a freakin' billionaire is nervous that he's going to leave enough money for his offspring is ridiculous. He just wants to pile that money as high as he can. He's addicted, as all billionaires are.
  14. Imagine trying to curse the White Sox when we have a literal Wizard and The Pope on our side. Girl dun goofed
  15. Makes me feel better that they have realistic options if he leaves
  16. His family owns the freaking Bulls and White Sox. They'll be fine. I still think he'll want Getz to go for it this season. It could be his last chance at a chip.
  17. Just an FYI Greg - We've been using an opener quite regularly. I know you hate openers.
  18. BRING IT BOYS!!! Give me a least 4 more this road trip and I’m a happy camper.
  19. Awesome game. Sox fans showed up in Baltimore tonight! Every batter got a hit and Burke was phenomenal outside of one inning. Young CityFan is now 5-0 in Sox games!
  20. Hey, I’m totally open to high schoolers after this franchise defaulted to college players forever with little results. You can’t tell a Sox fan that going college just because college is the right thing to do just because college yeah college!
  21. Nice that they didn’t have to use Hudson or Newcomb tonight, could come in handy tomorrow.
  22. GREAT way to start the road trip! Especially with how bad they have been on the road. All 9 starters with at least one hit, and 6 doubles. The boys are:
  23. I could never stand Naylor personally, but I thought he at least had a "liked in his own clubhouse" reputation
  24. This didn't really kick in tonight. Maybe she did it wrong.
