2026 Catch All thread:
Its honestly activating my conspiracy theory brain that we are defunding education in so many states, plus the actions of the federal government here, at the same time we are essentially stopping immigration. I think they are telling us they want our kids to take these jobs over.

Outskirts of Milwaukee are all pretty nice. City itself is seeing some pockets but it is a weird little town. Brewers pen management going to MeGill then pulling him so quickly was odd. Ashby is as unhittable a pitcher as you will see currently. That was a miss step by the Brewers but they could certainly afford it. Outside of Pratt the Brewer offense was bad.

Once parents start telling their kids to skip college and move mulch 10 hours a day for $12 an hour or wash dishes for $11 we will stop have people risking their lives to get here to do those jobs.

1) I couldn't help but notice how loud the Brewer fans were. It sounded like they had more fans than the Rays. I wonder what % of fans were Brewer fans last night . 2) MLB use to make a annual World Series film which was sold on DVD. I have the World Series DVDs from 1943-2022. They stopped making the films after 2022. Wonder why they stopped producing them. Maybe not enough people were buying them but still I would think they would make them available to the fans who want them.

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
I love the host’s story that as a 9 year old in 1988, he went around and collected signatures on a petition to keep the Sox from moving and he presented those signatures to his state rep!

John Schriffen officially out, the search for the new PbP voice begins
I like his podcast but I'm a fan from Boers and Bernstein days so definitely biased. Dan's podcast is better than anything on 670 or 1000 currently and I used to be an every day sports radio guy. Has always been solid reporting. Don't agree with all of his opinions but he doesn't report bullshit.

- “The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
Sox in the Basement podcast in general is one of the better White Sox podcasts out there. They have good stuff.- “The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
This was really interesting, and being a suburbanite with a newly expanded passenger rail line, something our town is trying really hard to take advantage of. They are marketing the cheap real estate, hour commute to downtown, and 1% property tax max really hard to recruit.- “The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
I watched the interview yesterday and found it very interesting. I already knew the power rail roads had but Sen. Cunningham shared his firsthand experiences. He said jokingly, "You can fight city hall, but you can't fight the rail roads." He also made a very interesting point how Covid started the work from home movement and how it has impacted downtown and taxes. I would recommend watching the video, good stuff.- World Series GameThread

Relievers are so volatile that even a bad season doesn't mean next season they won't be back on track. It has to be the hardest thing to evaluate looking forward on an annual basis.- Mike Shirley resigns
It will be interesting. The early chatter was that we were looking at repurposing the position into something with slightly different focus and responsibilities from what it had historically been. Maybe 3/4 of the old job and a 1/4 of a new one. That might also change the pool of people. - “The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
