  2. Outskirts of Milwaukee are all pretty nice. City itself is seeing some pockets but it is a weird little town. Brewers pen management going to MeGill then pulling him so quickly was odd. Ashby is as unhittable a pitcher as you will see currently. That was a miss step by the Brewers but they could certainly afford it. Outside of Pratt the Brewer offense was bad.
  3. Once parents start telling their kids to skip college and move mulch 10 hours a day for $12 an hour or wash dishes for $11 we will stop have people risking their lives to get here to do those jobs.
  4. 1) I couldn't help but notice how loud the Brewer fans were. It sounded like they had more fans than the Rays. I wonder what % of fans were Brewer fans last night . 2) MLB use to make a annual World Series film which was sold on DVD. I have the World Series DVDs from 1943-2022. They stopped making the films after 2022. Wonder why they stopped producing them. Maybe not enough people were buying them but still I would think they would make them available to the fans who want them.
  5. I love the host’s story that as a 9 year old in 1988, he went around and collected signatures on a petition to keep the Sox from moving and he presented those signatures to his state rep!
  6. Yet you still can't figure out that tray is playing you like a fiddle
  7. I agree. Kenwo is an absolute joke and the worst white Sox Twitter person.
  8. Good point. I'm not sure actually.

  10. Is that a title that allows us to request to interview current SD’s by framing it as a promotion?
  11. assistant general manager Josh Barfield is a candidate for Astros ... Oct 20, 2026 — White Sox general manager Chris Getz said the team intends to make a hire under the title “director of amateur acquisitions.”
  12. I like his podcast but I'm a fan from Boers and Bernstein days so definitely biased. Dan's podcast is better than anything on 670 or 1000 currently and I used to be an every day sports radio guy. Has always been solid reporting. Don't agree with all of his opinions but he doesn't report bullshit.

Victoria's Secret Angels fighting over Tom Brady... Team Joan or Team Candice?
  14. Supposedly. "Director of Amateur Acquisitions".
  15. Brandon Woodruff was at 89-93 on Monday night in the 9th...fwiw
  16. I think it was @Y2Jimmy0 who mentioned in the futuresox podcast a decision on the new scouting director is expected this week.
  17. A majority of U.S. unauthorized immigrants live in just six states – including California (with the largest population at 2.2 million), Texas, Florida, New York, New Jersey and Illinois. pewresearch.com
  18. Sox in the Basement podcast in general is one of the better White Sox podcasts out there. They have good stuff.
  19. This was really interesting, and being a suburbanite with a newly expanded passenger rail line, something our town is trying really hard to take advantage of. They are marketing the cheap real estate, hour commute to downtown, and 1% property tax max really hard to recruit.
  20. I watched the interview yesterday and found it very interesting. I already knew the power rail roads had but Sen. Cunningham shared his firsthand experiences. He said jokingly, "You can fight city hall, but you can't fight the rail roads." He also made a very interesting point how Covid started the work from home movement and how it has impacted downtown and taxes. I would recommend watching the video, good stuff.
  21. It's because everyone with sense moved out of Milwaukee years ago...
  22. If anyone ever has doubts that Ron trolls, bookmark this thread.
  23. Relievers are so volatile that even a bad season doesn't mean next season they won't be back on track. It has to be the hardest thing to evaluate looking forward on an annual basis.
  24. It will be interesting. The early chatter was that we were looking at repurposing the position into something with slightly different focus and responsibilities from what it had historically been. Maybe 3/4 of the old job and a 1/4 of a new one. That might also change the pool of people.
  25. What no one talks about is how much of an inflationary pressure that no immigration is becoming. Remember all of those jobs that no one wanted to do? The people who actually wanted to do them are now being rounded up and sent away.
