  1. Past hour

  2. I hope not, Getz needs to wear this and I'm hoping Ishbia looks at this when deciding who he wants running this front office
  3. When the Sox slug, they are no slouches, FEAR The Sox. 26-14 against the AL Central, that is taking care of business.
  4. Today

  5. I don’t think this is true. I lived in Downers Grove and Darien and there are a lot more Sox fans in the area than you are proposing with your Cubs fan percentage.
  6. Schiano is probably done…
  7. Who gives a f***? It still makes it easier for Sox fans to get to the game. Now look at every other city along the BNSF line... P.S. Naperville is 150k people. Even if we go with the worst case of your estimate, that's 22,000+ potential White Sox fans?
  8. Well Gil Meche and Darvish did it...at least agreed to a restructuring of contract and when payments are due. But pretty much zero chance.
  9. Yep, Peters is only 26. Could be Getz’s best acquisition of all time.
  10. Yeah, Peters and Hudson too. Or the reverse with Brazoban. It’s a young man’s game.
  11. Mariners fans have little to laugh about this year, but dumping Castillo AND acquiring Smith and Dominguez has been a decent consolation prize.
  12. Well then they're probably losing the division.
  13. I just wish Getz would have learned from his predecessors in Kenny and Hahn and all of their acquisitions trying to squeeze one last drop of performance out of players nearing retirement. Stop acquiring old fucks. It almost never works out. Admittedly, it did work with Grichuk with his extreme splits against lefties. However, baseball is a young man’s game.
  14. Really need to bring back WSI with WestEddy and friends as mods for only positive/supportive comments. Not having two sides and a healthy/controlled environment for debate will kill any sports board off eventually.
  15. https://www.fangraphs.com/standings/playoff-odds/season-to-date/mlb 84% to win the division, 9th best odds for playoffs at well over 90% Was going to make an “eating crow” thread, but that would turn into some kind of jinx/reverse jinx eventually
  16. WestEddy was arguing with me in the first few weeks of the 2024 season that I was being insufficiently positive. Enough said.
  17. Fedde has a 1.04 ERA in 5 starts vs. MIN as a Sox (2024 and 2026). 26 IP, 3 ER, 24 Ks to 7 BB, and a 4-0 record. He's held them to a .416 OPS this season. Solid 3.00 ERA overall since June, that's some quality innings for a value price.
  18. Best @caulfield12 post of all time. Absolutely shredded. Not a fan of the deadline moves, but let’s hope everything goes well going forward. Someone get Castillo and Doyle some PED’s. 😶
  19. Pirates and Cardinals are no slouches. They play in a division with two really good teams, Cards just beat the Dodgers twice on the road and getting a few guys back from injury, Pirates have a pretty good offense and decent starting pitching. Both would probably be in first if in the AL Central
  20. Don’t worry. Once all of Getz’s great deadline trades pan out, the Sox will hit whatever win total WestEddy changes his prediction to.
  21. Why would we want to make it more accessible for Naperville
  22. I'm the most right of anybody and Im not on here asking for crow. Thats cringe
  23. Yep, it's Metra's busiest line. The Route 59 and Naperville stops are by far Metra's 2 busiest stops outside of the downtown terminals and I think Lisle and Downers Grove are up there, too. A Metra stop right there would be pretty cool and could service a lot of passengers. Maybe they could especially justify it with a Northwestern Medicine campus there and if the rest of Amtrak/BNSF/78 properties includes residential development. Of course, I don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves. There's still several significant hoops to go through before a ballpark there could happen. It's far from a done deal, especially if the Amtrak move gets delayed or blocked, and a stadium might be 8-10 years away even if everything ultimately gets approved.
  24. Lol you started out in low 70s for win predictions and then kept moving the bar upwards when Fegan went out on an optimistic limb with 78-84. The majority of the board was at 67-73 in the predictions thread. They probably end up at 84-85. Does that make up for underperforming predictions badly in 2023 2024 2025 or having the very worst deadline of all the contending teams? No matter what crow you're expecting, it's just as likely as you admitting Castillo or Doyle weren't good moves lol. You’ll still be trying to convince everyone Luis Castillo is just one minor tweak or two away from 2019-24 form. Also Houston is 1 1/2 games behind and Cleveland just 2 1/2 if you'll refer to the current standings. And Castillo/Mune are still broken. As things stand, they are unlikely to beat the 3/6 winner OR beat Houston as the 6 without either of those guys contributing.
