April 10, 200818 yr QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 03:44 PM) One and only one kind of pizza -- JACKS. Typically half sausage, half pepperoni. I'm sure there are better, but my mom has bought this pizza for years and I've grown accustomed to it. I like the Jack's taco pizza. My kid loves the Tombstone pepperoni, so we go with that once in a while for a fast Friday night dinner.
April 11, 200818 yr Tombstone It's just been that way since I was a kid and will most likely always be that way.
April 11, 200818 yr Tombstone. I guess I'm the only who never liked HRI frozen. Just seemed to turn out too greasy. And I love the pizzeria itself. Used to always stop there on the way to Comiskey. Love those dim memories.
April 11, 200818 yr UNO is pretty good. NOT THE THICK CRUST ONE!!!!! Hard to find, but they make a THIN CRUST pizza. I occasioanally see it at certain Jewel stores near the deli section. I'm not a thick crust person myself. Many may disagree with me, but my feeling is that if you want a thick crust pizza, why not just get a loaf of bread, pour some sauce on it, and have yourself a yeast casarole. I personally like to spend my money on the flavor of the pizza and it's toppings, not just on trying to find the best deal for the most amount of dough. And usually you wind up throwing away the big wad of crust on the end anyway.....so what's the use? What a waste!!!!
April 11, 200818 yr Remember when Tombstone had the sausage that was more like a meat sauce? It was far better then.
April 11, 200818 yr QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 03:20 PM) Man I wish I could get my hands on some Home Run Inn in Florida... I go for the Tombstones now. or Edited April 11, 200818 yr by Controlled Chaos

April 11, 200818 yr I used to get Tony's or Tombstone pizza in college. Its probably the best sponge for consumed alcohol in the world.....or in Carbondale. And I love it slightly burned too. Maybe i just grew to like it because i kept burning the damned things, but it is almost impossible to cook one of those things so that the bottom doesnt burn and the middle of the pizza isnt cold. So I chose the overcooking method and i love it. Oh yeah, and hot sauce fixes every burned pizza
April 11, 200818 yr Frozen pizza? No thanks. I'm with the "make it myself, from scratch" crew. It's not that hard. It just takes a little patience as the crust rises. And it's a lot of fun.
April 11, 200818 yr No one else has a love for reggio's? If any of you guys are "crust guys" pick it up one time, it has the best crust you will ever have in a frozen pizza.

April 12, 200818 yr Are the tombstone "double tops" still made anywhere? haven't seen them in quite a few years. If you know of any place that still has them, please post.

It's my favorite and I know I'm not alone. I've converted 2 of my friends.
April 13, 200818 yr QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 05:33 PM) I generally get Palermos because they are real cheap, and not so bad. On the Pizzazz its pretty good. i had a pizzazz my senior year of college....it was the most invaluable piece of my kitchen...between 3 people, we probably used it 2 or 3 times a day...we put everything on there..toasted our sandwiches, bagel bites, chicken fingers, etc. it was wonderful on the topic of pizzas....digiorno is good...but at like 8 bucks a pizza id just order one. Frescheta is the same way the things that got me through college were these guys.... http://www.pillsbury.com/products/pizza/fr...tinos-Pizza.htm 10 for 10 bucks...10 meals/drunk 3 am snacks for only a dollar each is a helluva deal, and while they werent great, they were pretty darn good
April 13, 200818 yr QUOTE (Texsox @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 04:12 PM) Is the Pizzazz better than an oven or toaster oven?? honestly...not really, its just so much more convient to use than an oven because it gets hot right away and you can see when things are done...like i said before though, i used to put things like sandwiches on it to melt cheese and toast hte bread, something i would have never done in an oven, but clearly could do in an oven...its just nice on the pizzazz cuz its so convenient its also bigger than a toaster oven too

I usually dislike unitaskers in the kithcen, but with my son coming back from college and on his own for most of the summer while I'm at the island, I may pick one up.
April 13, 200818 yr QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 09:59 AM) or What the hell am I thinking.....I shoulda scrolled over that link, but of course not. Thank you very much though for the real link!
April 13, 200818 yr I don't like Tony's at all. I find that frozen pizza's never have good sauce. It's almost always on the sweeter side. Tombstone and Red Baron are the go-to frozen pizza's for me.
April 13, 200818 yr Home Run Inn is probably my favorite, but I usually don't get it because Red Baron is so much cheaper. Trader Joes has some good options that are cheap, albeit, much smaller. I have one Tonys in the freezer, but I'm afraid to eat it.
April 13, 200818 yr probably tombstone, although jack's aren't bad if you add some extra cheese. i also like totinos, although i acknowledge that despite being called pizza they really are not pizza. i prefer cheese-covered crust with tomato sauce. but it is good and cheap cheese-covered crust with tomato sauce.
