How have those innings went? He has a career UZR/150 of -6.9 at SS which awful. He is a big - at every position except those I mentioned. The only reason why the Astros even played him at 2B/3B/SS was because it freed up a spot for a reliever and they didn't have to keep some MI stiff who couldn't hit on the roster. He's a 1B/LF

It's both. Hoskins is terrible at LF. Like historically bad. He's also more productive and cheaper then Santana it's really a no brainer for them. Oh and also no DH. Ideally we'd acquire Santana for prospects then move Abreu at somepoint next season. Phillies have Brohm whose blocked at 3B with Franco and 1B with Hoskins. He'd be a nice get.

Marwin and DIaz f War were exactly the same with Marwin having 100 extra PA. They traded for a super utility replacement without having to deal with Boras ridiculous prices. I get why they made the move though Thorton to me is an overpay Problem for us is we have gaping holes on roster. We don't need a utility guy we need starters.

I think people are severely overestimating the market for Marwin. But we will see. Boras is playing the media game using his stooges to try and convince people he's worth much more then he is. It's worked before maybe it does again. He has a career OPS of .737. OPS of .733 last year. Mainly plays LF/1B/DH. He's worth a flyer to see if he can return to 2017 but MLBTR is predicting 4/36 which is insane to me. He is a 1 or 2 year deal. I'd offer 2/15 max. Marwin last year was worth 1.6 WAR according to fangraphs Diaz last year was worth 1.6 WAR according to fangraphs Marwin had 100 extra PA.

It's a nice sentiment just doesn't make a whole lot of sense timeline wise. He should be moved in the offseason.

Who cares about Diaz? He isn;t even good. Trent Thorton is more then I'd be willing to pay. Would you give up Ian Hamilton for Diaz? I wouldn't.

Sanatana is not coming off that kind of season. Cruz isn't getting 20 million and is was the much better hitter last year. Not really even comparable. I'd probably peg him at 1/8 in FA coming off that year. Problem is he's owed around 42 million over the next two years. Even if he somehow got 2/20 thats 22 million we'd be eating. That amount of value has to be made up somewhere not to mention they would likely be moving him to create space to sign somebody that is when you can get them to pay a little extra. It would take one prospect plus one interesting guy for me to get interested. Brohm or Medina. Then someone like Ortiz. Santana contract is bad. Phillies GM says he wants Machado and or Harper. I'm fine with helping him make two stupid decisions if he wants. Santana is probably worth a little less then half what he is being paid.

How many false allegations and twisting of peoples words do you reckon happens to adults? *ahem* Or there could be financial considerations the more she speaks and the more damage she does to the Mariners organization the more incentive they have to pay her to shut up and go away. I hope with the MLB getting involved they find out the truth and like I said earlier if Dipitio said what she claims he should be fired and never work in the MLB again but if he didn't or her very specific allegations are untrue (trainers and players careers targeted) then she should be sued for defamation even if she mixed some half-truths with lies. I don't think it's as widespread as the media would like you to believe. When it does happen it makes sense to respond to it not only because the MLB has to but they should. There is no place for what Dipito is accused of. The key word is accused. I don't think the solution is hire a bunch of people because they check certain boxes it may work from a PR standpoint but it will only build upon certain suspicions. I've had coworkers that I knew got the job through nepotism, initiatives, etc rarely did they work out and almost never did anyone in the group respect their work.

I think with the MLB investigating this I hope there are repercussions for all involved should one be found to be lying. Too often these type of allegations are found to be false then the person who made them walks away scott free. Here allegations are very specific. I don't think they are true going off Dipitio history but if they are he should pay the price.

The easiest and cheapest way to improve the offense is to sign a legit DH who will have a 850-900 OPS. JD Martinez has averaged over 1 OPS the last three years. He signed a five year 110 million dollar deal. People are talking about signing Machado and/or Harper then leaving Palka at DH? Why? We could fix the DH position which averaged .758 OPS last season for probably 1/10 the cost and have similar impact. Not to mention this team lacks any sort of starting rotation. Unless the signing of Machado and/or Harper indicate the Whitesox are also willing to spend big on the rest of the holes on the roster to Redsox levels they should continue the rebuild. There are smarter ways to do this.

I'm actually being optimistic when I think the Whitesox won't go after Machado. Dude is a loser and a complete douchebag. If the Whitesox are going to lose 80,100 games which they will do regardless of whether Machado is on the roster I'd rather them do so with guys who will run to first base and who I don't want to punch in the face everytime I hear them talk. This is baseball it ain't basketball. Why are you so excited for Machado anyways? He aint Lebron. You can say he doesn't have to be a leader if you are paying someone 200-250 milllion and giving them a 10 year deal he's the leader and are giving him more power then even the coaches. So no I don't want Machado for a variety of reasons not just baseball related. I also don't want Harper. Instead lets do this thing right and see where we are in 2 years because at that point Eloy should be up. Robert and Rutherford should be up or very close. Kopech. Cease. We'll know how sucessful this rebuild was and more importantly we will know what we need moving forward as adds to the ML roster. I'd much rather target a young blocked player like Chavis on the Redsox.
