Munemania: He has power
Good job. We're all going to have to step on each other's jokes a lot for the next month while Caulfield is on his self-imposed hiatus. Maybe @Bob Sacamano will want to help out by referencing a list of 80's era Cub players who have absolutely nothing to do with the convo. Do you even know who's going to be the 2033 Game 3 World Series starter for the Sox? Is he even in the system? Ohtani also made an impact on the mound for LA, making his return to pitching in June after an almost two-year layoff, following two procedures, including one to repair the right ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow and his left shoulder last offseason. In 14 starts, he went 1-1 with a 2.87 ERA and had 62 strikeouts. The second-straight MVP award comes after posting a historic season last year in which he became the first player in MLB history to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a single campaign. cnn.com

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
If they won the Super Bowl, something tells me they're still having the parade in Chicago.

Ohtani and Jonathan Cannon are both pro baseball pitchers. There, now you have two.

We all have more weight to pull, now that Caulfield's going to be wearing out that Padres' board.

White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
Except the FutureSox podcasts with Dylan Barnas and Elijah Evans. Those guys speak way too fast as it is.

Well, Gary/Hammond could get, what, 10-11 surges in dining and hotel stays, and then have to service the stadium for the whole year? I suppose it becomes an entertainment district if they do concerts, college football, etc. And Chicago still keeps the "civic pride" of "having" an NFL team.

I don't know where to find it, but I think Murakami's in zone whiff rate is much higher.

Chicago White Sox's Offseason FA Signings Trades Megathread
I don't think anybody should self-deport, but Caulfield was talking about 3/36, if I remember correctly. And a few of us got swatted down for suggesting somebody like Murakami could sign with the White Sox. NostraCaulfield mocked me for suggesting 3/45.

Merry Christmas, Sox fans
Merry Christmas, guys. Thanks for the banter.

Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
You do understand they have to play the games this year, right? If they don't have a "top prospect" ready to step in at CF, or into the rotation, I'm not sure what your solution is. If Sean Newcomb wins a starting job and is good enough to hold off the likes of Cannon or Davitt, he's probably good enough to get interest at the TDL. Same with Jake Meyers.

KW/Hahn actively agitated their clubhouses. Spies, and all.

Weird. I saw a report just today that said they would consider making those guys available. Not for Robert, specifically, but more generally, to fill holes.

Chicago White Sox's Offseason FA Signings Trades Megathread
People mock the notion of Getz focusing on an orderly clubhouse like it's a waste of brain cells, or not needed because that one team who won, none of the players liked each other.

The Giants just signed Gregory Santos. Maybe he's their reclamation project.

Chicago White Sox's Offseason FA Signings Trades Megathread
Is that a 4 or 5 star system? I thought I wasn't going to like Death by Lightening (and I wouldn't recommend to non-history buffs), but Matthew MacFayden as Guiteau grew on me.

Pete Fairbanks?
So, the White Sox probably had him for 2/$10M based on the exciting culture they're building, but he had to turn them down due to his illness. That's cool.

Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
It looks to me like the cost to the Reds is hovering around something like Mason Adams and an alternate reality Samuel Zavala who played his way up to AA in '25. That, plus the competitive balance pick. That looks like a no-brainer.

ABS (automated ball strike) coming to MLB in 2026
I actually don't mind the ball 1" off the plate getting called for a pitcher who's been painting it for 6 innings. This will fix the ball right down the middle being called a ball. Now make an actual rule on what constitutes a swing.
