  1. This game is exactly why it’s tough to win less than 50 games. Baseball is weird. Twins didn’t have any business winning this game, but they got pretty lucky. Sox will have games where the luck is on their side.
  2. Zero balls hit hard. Brutal luck. It all started with two outs and nobody on.
  3. Talk about terrible luck.
  4. Don’t you bash Nick Maton ever again!
  5. Very well executed. You definitely got me. Nicely done.
  6. Funny thing is that when the Giants did it back in 2013, one of their four starters gave up 2 unearned also.
  7. That’s basically the best way to summarize it. As a baseball coach, I’ve gotten into arguments with opposing coaches about this. The common misconception is that “my base runner has the right to the base path.” That’s false. You have to avoid the defender if the defender is in the process of making a play. If there’s no play, then the defender has to avoid the runner.
  8. In that hypothetical, it doesn’t matter if he has to get back to the bag. You can’t impede the defender trying to make a play. Having said that, I think that’s a terrible call. Zero chance the first baseman gets to that ball, and Slater did attempt to avoid contact. Although, the latter part of my last sentence might not matter.
  9. Why? Just in case he hits a line drive right at an infielder?
  10. I’ll do one better: A week ago, if somebody offered me $1,000,000 to correctly answer which sport and team Nick Maton played for, I wouldn’t be any richer.
  11. Not just “many” teams. Five specific teams. Those GMs must have messaged Bartolo to tell him they were about 90% likely to put in a claim, but all five ultimately decided against it.
  12. Let’s GO!!! Won’t be many fun ones this year, so I’m going to enjoy this. And 1 down, 49 to go for my bet.
  13. Just subscribed to the one week free trial of the White Sox Monthly Team Pass. How are you guys watching today?
  14. That was my first thought when I saw the lineup. And with Amaya at SS, defense should be solid. Just hope they don’t hit it to 3B often.
  15. This is one of the strangest posts I’ve ever seen on this forum, and that’s saying a lot.
  16. Wow, I haven’t been following Benintendi’s recovery. Is he going to be good to go for opening day?
  17. Focusing on and preaching fundamentals doesn’t make you good at it. You still have to be good at baseball.
  18. Did he say “and a change up for strike 3”? Damn, that’s a pretty good change at 99 mph.
  19. It says MLB.TV subscription required. I don’t have a subscription, but I do have an account and I’m logged in right now.
