Gio Gonzalez
Cooper will have Nova pitching like an ace in no time. The bottom line was that fans could not bear to watch any more Shields or M Gonzalez while Giolito trails the whole league. What a sorry story.

3/18 vs Giants, 3pm, whitesox.com
The whole OF are fringe guys. When roster space is limited they don't add much value. Palka should see some at bats.

It might be worth considering that Reinsdorf has no reason to trust the people in charge of spending his money. We hear there are revenue streams accruing but it surely would not be franchise ticket sales. Time to cash in.

Sox vs. Ariz. 03/17
You are only here for the attention. Hardly an original thought.

3/16 vs Dodgers, 3pm, NBCSC
Yes they say rbi is an opportunity stat and supposedly clutch hitters regress to the mean. If you could have Joc Eloy Palka Alonso Jose in the lineup most days you might not have a last place offense. I know Palka butchered a fly ball yesterday while the Yankee cf butchered two balls.

MLBPA proposals
Important exception if the inning ends first, no three batter rule. With two outs you can bring your loogy in.

Granted the silly reason but he had more rbi last year than anyone on our roster. They have to put some decent players on the field.

Giolito Strikes out Four Cubs in One Inning: A Spring Training Game Thread
Slum Times reports that Santana retired Manchado five times in the Friday B game. Take that.

Gio won't last the season maybe bullpen.

Eloy officially got paid
It is too vague to enforce. The Sox are doing just what I suggested offerring a long'term deal. Meanwhile the two sides of MLB are being proactive. If a player arguably deserves to be called up then make him an offer. To give up the service time ticks off the fans. As a fan I take no sides except the other two should get along.

Hamilton with “minor” shoulder setback
I can hear Dr. Andrews sharpening his tools right now.

What Kind of Rebuild is This?
You should already know that in terms of market size we have the smallest fan base. There is almost nothing major league about our situation. We need to excel in talent development but our talent is developing injuries.

Eloy officially got paid
Good faith and fair dealing is implied in every contract but you cannot base a claim upon that. Intent can be inferred by expected outcomes in my view.

Dunning to Meet with Dr. Andrews
When the season starts youse guys are gonna' wish it was still off-season.

Eloy officially got paid
And that was just before breakfast. This is why I hate the Internot.

i think the front-office negativity is a little over the top. Fans can help to encourage owners to spend the money they have reasonably available.

MLBPA proposals
I would use a 28 man roster. Bench moves are so limited the way things are. Let the pitcher throw after 15 secs with the ball and the hitter has to be ready or else.

Next year roster size 26 with 13 pitchers but why not now? Should be 27 but owners are too cheap. New trade deadline is July 31 no August waiver deals.

Dunning to Meet with Dr. Andrews
We are about down to one two-part explanation. The young pitchers are taking vitamins so they can throw harder. Their arms cannot tolerate this process. This is called a differential diagnosis.

Wondering where Lambert ends up thinking AA.

Dunning to Meet with Dr. Andrews
Might as well send Hansen along for the group discount. Better yet have them rest for another year before surgery.

Spring Training Thread
Although he has trimmed down for the OF, guys who build up with vitamins tend to have hamstring issues. He was somewhat trim looking a few years ago and now he will miss half of the spring games I expect. Sox have had a number of minor injuries that seem to drag on.

What Kind of Rebuild is This?
The only other rebuild news is that the team that used to have the fewest injuries now has every other prospect with chronic injuries.

It is hard to imagine any in-season prominence for this group. We are not on Fantasy Island. I was not certain about a big name FA but everything else seems to point arrow down. I am ok with Alonso and hope he can help. We need oh-fence to stave off mass embarrassment.
