  1. He seems to be suggesting JDM but that doesn't make a ton of sense after EE was signed.
  2. Would be a heck of a platoon with Mazara, although Puig is about equally as effective against RHP and LHP. Still, for one year 8m would be solid. MLBExecutiveBurner @HotStoveintel Per @JonHeyman report on Puig. Very weak market. Puig’s reps looking for “Pillow” contract to help restore his value. Entering Age 29 season. Teams w/ veteran Cuban Players (See White Sox) interested. Especially for a low risk gamble. 1 Yr $8-$10M probably gets Deal Done. 5:40 PM · Dec 25, 2019·
  3. It all depends on McCann. I hope we keep Collins and sell high on McCann. We need LH high OBP power hitters. He can learn from Grandal and when the computerized strike zone comes in a few years he will be very valuable. He can be the backup C this year and catch two games a week. I'm a big fan of all things Univ. of Miami so I'm admittedly biased but I really want to keep Zack.
  4. Pillar would be ideal for reasons already mentioned plus he would come dirt cheap...prolly like 1 yr. 4 million. I also like the above average defense. This is a very strong lineup with EE and a Mazara/Pillar platoon.
  5. His BABIP already recovered to like .312 by the end of the season due to a strong second half, so I don't see any further positive regression, it already came in the second half of the season (that article was from May). However, fangraphs projects him as a 105 wRC+ hitter in 2020. That presumes he is facing both LHP and RHP so I would assume his wRC+ would be well north of 105 if in fact they only start him against RHP (120?). Hopefully his thumb is ok. In retrospect, this was a good move by the FO. While unpopular at the time, it made much more sense than giving Ozuna something like 4/65. We get two cost controlled years, get a badly needed LHH that already is above average against righties and could be much better than that and he's passable in RF. I wish the OBP was higher but for the bottom third of the lineup it's ok. I'll gladly take the projected 25 HRs from someone batting 7th (although that would probably be lower if in fact he doesn't play full time).
  6. Preller was under pressure to have a good season since he convinced ownership to spend 300m on Machado so he had to go into short term win mode.
  7. LMAO....our fans are trolling Hector now. He's a good guy and has good info, not sure why he was sticking his neck out for the other dude tho.
  8. As much as i appreciate all McCann did last year, esp with Giolito, I'd rather cash out on him now and make Collins the backup catcher. Have a C needy team send us a decent reliever.
  9. Calm down dude I'm just having some fun. I know we aren't getting Adell no matter how much they would like McCann.
  10. EE, Castellanos on a one year deal and McCann to LAA for Adell? We BACK!
  11. With automated strike zone coming in a couple years (hopefully after we have gotten some good framing seasons from Grandal), it would be ideal to keep Collins as the backup catcher. With his swing changes, he absolutely could be .240/.370/.475. That would be awesome from the left side as a passable catcher that doesn't have to worry about framing.
  12. I know...but what they've done this off-season makes little sense and they need a couple guys that can help them this year cause the GM is under some pressure. It's not realistic, but that would be awesome.
  13. Since we are now in the contention phase I'd assume we are looking for a MLB reliever or RF option....unless there is a good prospect not far from the majors. Give the Angels ReyLo, Dunning and McCann for Adell.
  14. Apologies if this was posted already... MLBExecutiveBurner @HotStoveintel · 1h Looking to free up At Bats & ... White Sox discussing James McCann with multiple teams including Rays, Reds, Angels & Rockies. At $5.4M cheaper than current asking prices of Jason Castro & Robinson Chirinos. Somewhat of a balance of those 2 players. Nothing imminent... 2 4 14 MLBExecutiveBurner @HotStoveintel · 1h Edwin Encarnacion nearing Deal w/ #WhiteSox that guarantees him in $10M+ range on 1 Yr deal potentially with ‘21 Club Option. Deal in similar format to one Twins gave Nelson Cruz last offseason w/ slightly less . Expect deal finalized today or after Christmas..
  15. Yep, they have to space it out because of the big contracts right now. Hypothetical 8/85. 2020: 2.5m 2021: 3.5m 2022: 8m 2023: 11m 2024: 13m 2025: 13m 2026: 15m 2027: 19m
  16. Id rather go 1/10 on EE than give Castellanos a 4 year deal.
  17. Pillar hits lefties ok (105 WRC+), provides good defense and would be dirt cheap on a one year deal.
  18. 8/90 would be great. That takes him to like 30-31.
  19. Fangraphs has the Twins about 4 wins better at the moment. Encarnacion and a good reliever as well as Puig as the platoon partner could put us over the top....ofcourse Minnesota would be expected to still add pitching as well.
  20. Ryu to TOR.....4/80. Bloom has MIN behind the 8 ball now. He's gonna make them eat like 75m out of that price contract. Lol
  21. Yes but who is the other Central team? We are out. Cleveland is trying to shed salary not add it. There's no point in Detroit or KC adding him. It doesn't make sense....on the other hand Nightengale sometimes is fed stuff by the FO. Maybe we are trying to drive the price up for MIN.
  22. I think he will be a solid 2.5 WAR player. He would be a fine leadoff guy if he's a .300 hitter with about .375 OBP.
  23. One year deal is fine. Collins would have no place to play going forward, tho.
  24. If the Angels sign Ryu, the Twins will be in trouble. I hope that happens and forces them to take on 80% of the price contract.
