Jose Quintana...Signs with Angels (1YR 8M)
I'd much rather take Q as a 4/5 rather than trade Kelley because the foodies are suggesting that right now thats whats holding up the trade route since other teams want him. We need to keep some good SP prospects for the second part of the window.

Hector wrong. Again. - Cruz back with Min
That rules out resigning with MIN

Well the only alternative in our price range appears to be Richards. I'd prefer Q as a nice bounceback candidate. As a 4/5 he is perfectly good.

I'd be fine with Q.

And? We play righties 70%+ of the time and the rest of the lineup are lefty killers so we would be just fine against them even with Joc.

I feel bad for Hector. He is a nice man but his sources have been poor for awhile and people have been using him to spread false interest in order to try and generate offers for their clients.

Before 2020 Joc was the epitome of a righty killing LH masher. And his batted ball data showed he was very unlucky this year. He would have been a perfect bridge to someone like Colas on like a 2 year deal. This team is so stupid and so cheap.

Yes this would be bad...but it would cost NYY alot.....like Gleyber Torres.

We were told similar things last year about EE.

I wanted Joc but apparently we had to trot out hot garbage in RF in order to pay for our closer. Then we couldn't afford Brantley for the same reason. La Stella has a very high OPS vs RHP and can play multiple spots. Its not clear why we are overthinking the issue.

Hector has been wrong alot before when it comes to us. He is a nice guy and means well but he was wrong on Manny as well as Ozuna.

No more RHH. IDGAF who it is. We are going to get wrecked in a short series by righty killer SPs. And with our luck Cruz will now finally get busted for roids. HELL NO to this. Get a damn lefty masher. This isn't that hard of a concept.

I hope this doesn't mean La Stella is off the table now.

Get a damn lefty slugger already. Enough is enough. I dont care if it's Cruz. Enough righties.

MOAR RHH.

Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
There is zero chance he gets 40 AAV even on a short term deal.

Thank You Jerry Reinsdorf!
I wonder what upcoming scoop the team promised to Sullivan in exchange for this article?

Trade Whispers - Starting Pitchers
Yeah those two are nowhere near enough for Castillo.

Trade Whispers - Starting Pitchers
Possibly...but perhaps RH felt he could get something for him at the time. He still might. Maybe he wants to see if one of those pitchers will bite at 8m before being forced to give away RL for some scrub prospect in order to make the money work.

Trade Whispers - Starting Pitchers
Thats why they need to move ReyLo even for nothing, to get the 2m off the books so they can make the 10m SP and 7m Tommy La Stella work. Im shocked he hasn't been moved yet now that the salary is in place.
-
Trade Whispers - Starting Pitchers
I thought I saw somewhere we only had 15m left and were offering SPers 8m (presumably so as to leave 7m for La Stella) but the targets out there wanted 10m (I think the foodies said this latter part). Maybe that explains why they were trying to move ReyLo cause opening up that extra 2m would make a difference.

Trade Whispers - Starting Pitchers
The price is probably really high still. Cherington has to aim high because the only way they will eventually win is with good prospects since they cannot spend with that owner. He may hold on to him till the deadline if he doesn't get his price.

Corey Kluber to Yanks per Passan
JR is saying "thats a great idea about the 10m and incentives guys, but what's the plan if he hits the incentives? Where's the money coming from cause it ain't coming from my pocket"
-
Sox & ReyLo settle at $2.1M
Now that the number is fixed, does this mean he can be traded now? Open up that 2m to help pay for something else.

Corey Kluber to Yanks per Passan
Good point....how quickly he can get back to past performance is the wildcard with TJS. Theres no way for the systems to know that. If they are going all in for a WS I would think they would prefer more of a sure thing. On the other hand, at least this option won't force us to gut half the farm like a trade prolly would.
