  1. I dont think I've seen 4 in a row. At least i dont remember one off the top of my head.
  2. There are 73 million reasons he isn't coming back.
  3. At least that way Abreu wouldn't be batting third anymore.
  4. Hopefully between Detwiler and Foster they can get thru 4-5 of the innings between the two of them.
  5. Pederson is having an awful year, so he would prolly come cheap as he is already a platoon guy anyway. Springer is a RHH and is not exactly doing great either (and would command more money). I'd rather we put the money into Bauer and add Joc cheaply if they can't trade for a decent LH RF.
  6. Jerry is going to ask the FO why would I sink another 40m into the catching position when last year you persuaded me to sink 73m into the catching position? Hahn is going to have to live with the choice he made. Theres no such thing as a "sunk cost"in a situation like this, especially to THIS ownership. Grandal is the guy. Period. The resources have been spent. He is going to be given every opportunity to prove the FO right. Given that the FO is going to ask Jerry for more pitching, they wouldn't exactly have a ton of capital/trust in JRs eyes if they are also asking for another 40m at catcher. I trust Hahn is savvy enough to realize that asking for 40m for mccann is not a great way to inspire ownerships confidence in your other requests.
  7. So we paid 4/73 for just a DH when we have like 5 DHs already? I can assure you that wasn't the plan...if it was someone should be fired.
  8. If we don't pick up Encarnacion, Cishek or Gonzalez options, there should be more than enough money for Bauer especially if he still wants only 1 year deals.
  9. Even with Kopech back, we need another dependable guy. Right now we have two reliable pitchers, one whose performance can vary wildly and a black hole in two other spots. Kopech also hasn't pitched in a meaningful game in a couple years so we can't assume he will seamlessly slide into the rotation as a quality starter.
  10. Good effort, Dylan. Hopefully the pen can preserve the lead.
  11. Yeah Garcia got hurt at the worst possible time.
  12. They need arms period right now. He is the most ML ready.
  13. Stay at 3 for life? Cause thats what is going to actually happen.
  14. That 3 year Abreu deal looks awesome now (sarcasm). We have like 9 DHs pretending to be position players and Vaughn coming up soon.
  15. But for what prices thats the key? The Sox are going to get into the expanded playoffs more than likely even with the current mess of a rotation, esp since the Angels and Astros look like garbage and we play the Tigers and Royals a ton. I dont want to sacrifice key future pieces for 2020. Just get into the playoff, anything beyond that is gravy.
  16. Why? McCann will sign where he can start and we need a backup....being LHH with power is a bonus and Collins value will only increase once it goes to an automated strike zone in a couple years at which point he will prolly be at least marginally better as a C and Grandal's contract will be ending anyway. I see no logic to trading Collins.
  17. They've locked up premium talent for cheap prices so there should be no issues, especially since I would not expect them to pick up Encarnacion or Gonzalez options. The Abreu contract is kind of a pain but I'm not gonna beat that dead horse again. In terms of RF, if they are still interested in Joc he's kind of struggling this year so we could prolly get him cheap.
  18. I just looked at the schedule again....my bad you are right we are playing Sunday.
  19. Very good. We are off Sunday so hopefully he will be ready for DET on Monday.
  20. Eh...i guess thats not completely awful but it still sucks. Hopefully his rehab is good.
