If they are going to play Limp Dick Ball, then there's no chance they'll accept Hjerstad from BAL or Busch from LAD as the main piece (even if offered) and that's prolly why we are hearing about Merrifield in RF which is a massive joke and the pitcher heavy packages from CIN and So we are going to trade our prime asset for pitching and weak contact hitters that can run. That's so lame. We need at least some savagery in the lineup. Alot needs to go right to win with Limp Dick Ball and very little goes right for this ball club. Like every single dude needs to be an OBP monster and can run. This is why they are insisting on Cowser. Because even if the 55 power doesn't come, they don't care. He gets on base and he defends and they are more than happy to be in a 3-2 slopfest every night.

Yankees acquire Juan Soto in trade with Padres

That's a very tactful and graceful way of saying Mike Elias is a dickless coward. Which is 100% true. Pretty soon, he will need to sack up tho unless he wants to get passed by multiple teams in his division. -

Thanks. So pretty much in line with estimates. -

My bad....I meant the prior predictions of what he'd get to see how pitching is being valued in this market. -

Morosi linked Whit to White Sox in Dec23

Yes. This would be the lesser of two evils. Or just start Korey Lee until Quero is ready in 25.and if he hits 150/180/270 in the interim so what? It's going to be a garbage year anyway and they seem to enjoy making us miserable so why spend money on slop? -

That and fathom also saying it would be for RF which suggests it's more than just Morosi making random speculations. -
The fact that Outman came from nowhere to a 4 WAR season in of itself gives rise to the inference that he's a Dodgers lab created JAG masquerading as a savage. Dude has had several years of abnormally high BABIP in a row which is extremely unusual. Can some people be a little bit above 300 on avg? Sure. But year after of like 368 and 386 etc.? No. You want a guy with good OBP, decent speed and some power? Isn't that what we paid Beni for? To be 2018 Beni again once his wrist is healthy? Why are we trying to dump more resources into getting a similar profile to what we just paid 75m for? I think there's alot of pyrite in Outman and maybe we are mistaking it for gold. Regression will likely KILL him. I'd rather not have CWS holding the bag when Cinderella's magic carriage turns into a pumpkin. As to Busch, I agree he basically only has two tools. It's important to keep in mind not everyone kills it from the beginning in MLB (Cowsers debut was similarly rough, yet BAL is fiercely fighting handing him over). We need savagery. The entire lineup cannot be a bunch of 5'9 180 limp dick speed and glove based players. You want to have a few of them fine, but someone has to hit and someone has to slug besides Robert. There has to be at least a handful of players who don't look like their nutsacks are in a cheese grater against RHP.
-
I believe with the BA update they now have Busch as No. 1 in LAD system even above Rushing and even though I think in the commentary/chat I think BA said decent shot Rushing sticks at C. Given that Rushing is a high OBP and good SLG too, Busch's bat must be truly legit for him to outrank Rushing even with no glove at all. Regarding Outman, i don't want him as the primary piece because there is extreme JAG risk. Yes he does alot of things OK but he's projected to be about a 2 win player next year. Last year he only hit 248 even tho his babip was 343. If AVG plummets to 200, his BB isn't gonna matter too much. If we are going to get one hitter and one SP from LAD I don't want it to be him and I don't see LAD letting him be a third piece so there's a problem there.

Morosi linked Whit to White Sox in Dec23

I understand that part of it, but Robert has had injury issues and somewhat wild variations in WAR the last few years. I think they can walk and chew gum at the same time. If someone is willing to actually give up a real haul of young MLB players and prospects they should think about it. From the revenue side if the only variable is in person attendance guess what no one is going to the ballpark this year even with Robert so I'd strike when the iron is hot. They really could totally reshape this team overnight with a fun mix of new cost controlled talent. -

There are a handful that could and there's others that could pay a couple Top 100 plus some young cost controlled good MLB players. -

His value is dependent on injuries and maintaining mega power and GG ability in CF. Someone suggested Top 10, plus Top 50, plus two back end Top 100s. If we aren't winning anyway for two years, who cares? That's hard to turn down if someone would pay it. I dont think we would get that 2 years from now even if he's still playing at a 5 WAR level. And if we aren't winning for two years what are we waiting for? -

People are upset because 1. It's an awful match 2. These national writers are plugged in and especially Morosi with that whole Michigan connection thing with Getz. I hope this is just a "OK Mike, if you don't want to trade us an OF Savage, that's OK ill sign Merrifield cause I'm not expected to win anyway and even our owner doesn't care, and our fans expect garbage signings so it doesn't cost me anything and doesn't bother me and I'm happy to watch you burn" leak by Getz. -

Fathom, given next year is trash, what are the odds they sell high on Robert now? -
Look at their payroll the last few years. They have a cheap owner who is going all in on analytics like Rays in order to have cheap payroll. Even last year was like 100m.
-
That's alot of money for a reliever given the tight budget. Arguably, BAL will now be even more desperate for a cheap good SP cause they gotta be pretty close to being maxed out on money.

That would be horrific. No more old over the hill RH garbage bats. Trade with BAL for one of the savage OFers (or Pages) or Colas to RF, EVEN IF he sucks and even if they hate him. I dont care. Develop him. Coach him. Pedro, use your vaunted "communication skills". I was told you were all into communication skills. Do your fucking job instead of throwing your players under the bus. The buck stops with you, skip. Fucking worthless corporate bootlicker. No more worthless fucking right-handed bats. And no more fucking Royals. Im sick of this s%*#. -
Yep. Even at 1B, as a LHH with 55 hit/60 power he will clean Vaughn's clock in terms of production. If he could hack it at 2B that would be a dream but he'll still be useful without that, esp where Getz is building a speed/defense based team, since someone has to be able to bring in all the tablesetters.
-
I agree...bring me both LHS bats and if u can get Knack as the third piece that's more than fine.
-
He brought back a consensus Top 100 player for one third of a season. Thats a curioua definition of "worse than dogshit" but then again your partner in crime insisted in her infinite wisdom that "we would have to throw in more" than just Giolito to get a JAG like Jonathan India, so respectfully I don't think you guys should be throwing stones from glass houses. And no...."one desperate team" did not distort the market for Giolito. You don't think BAL who can't spend any money isnr desperate for a cheap high quality starter so they don't get embarrassed again with a weak rotation in a short series? You don't think LAD will be desperate for a cheap high quality starter after spending 600m on Ohtani when the odds are he will not return to form again after a 2nd TJS? ATL is one high quality pitcher away from being more or less unbeatable in a 5 or 7 game series where they can put an Ace or high end No. 2 on the mound every single night. You don't think they are desperate? Desperation isn't a market distortion. Desperation = Demand The market price is the highest amount at least one party is willing to pay. Not ALL of our guys are all garbage all the time. I realize there is plenty to be negative about on this team, but not on every single issue regardless of the facts.
-
I was posing a hypothetical that if A occurs, it's pretty damn reasonable to think B will occur. However, apparently we can't even agree on that. I'm pretty confident though that Glass Glasnow will return at least a single Top 100 and if that occurs we can pretty much take judicial notice that Cease will return 2.
-
So you're asking this Board to believe that even though he's made of glass, is making three times Cease salary this year and has only half of Cease's team control remaining...they are going to get roughly equivalent returns? Cease had 3.7 fWAR last year even in a "down" year, but he's evidently Hector fucking Santiago now, huh?
-
Would you agree that if Glasnow gets a single Top 100 prospect in this market plus some other useful piece then in fact the market will/should bear at least two Top 100 prospects for Cease given the differences in salary/control/injury history?
-
Actually you are right I looked at him some more and he is promising...assuming that's who Bruce is referencing. However I also read he was a reverse splits hitter this year which would not be good at all. Hopefully that's not a trend. We need a LHS to be an actual LHS.
