Ok now prolly Snell to SFG and Montgomery to TEX and then Cease should get all the attention.

That's a good point however if Bob is right and Pepiot was the key SP they wanted from LAD, it could complicate things if they feel the other SPers are more flawed. If LAD wants to be aggressive it will need to be a really good 3 or even 4 man package with none of the 4 being lottery tickets. Sheehan, Pages, Busch (yes yes I know he's 1B/DH and no I don't care, someone somewhere has to actually hit besides Robert and he's only part of the package not the "headliner") and Sweeney. All 4.

BAL- YES....where do I sign? CIN-YES but I'd like to take Stewart out and replace with Jorge if possible. No to ATL, SD and TEX

I agree with fathom that the PIT timeline doesn't make a ton of sense not that I'm complaining. If they are willing to give up Johnson + a backend Top 100 SP prospect that's fine. If we can get a third piece somewhere around 10-15 in their system perhaps in the OF that would be nice too. I really hope Getz doesn't just ask for like 3 pitchers and forget Johnson....there's a prime LHS at a position of real need, there is no excuse for him to be ignored. He will be likely called up by 2025 at some point so it's not like we're going to have to wait forever or anything. Get the savage.

Could very well be the case but it's hard to resist a 2B with a good glove that has 60 hit/60 power from the left side and had an 841 OPS in High A as a 19 year old. That's really really hard to say no to as it checks numerous boxes and I'm not sure he's that far away from the majors. The 2024 season is already dead and buried so I'm not sure why it would matter that he doesn't make the team next year. IMO, he seems to be on track to make the majors in 2025 at the current rate. And they could get a Top 100 pitcher as the second piece who is also close to MLB ready so Getz can have his precious pitching. Every constituency can get something here. The LHS supporters will be happy and the pitching centric folks can be happy too and maybe they can throw in a solid 10-20 range OFer. If PIT is actually willing to deal, they would be a great fit.

Nice....the more the merrier. Termarr Johnson would have to be the headliner plus one of Jones/Solometo.

Sigh....this thing may get dragged out beyond Christmas And here I was with dreams of a quick Yamamoto signing and then waking up on Christmas morning, with smells of a wonderful breakfast emanating from the kitchen and the sound of steaming hot cocoa on the stove, I arose to find multiple left handed savages from Baltimore all beautifully wrapped under the tree, bows and all, forcefully pried from the cold dead hands of Mike Elias with almost surgical precision. It's Basallo and Cowser and Hjerstad, theyre all here! I got every savage on my list. Thank you Santa Chris, oh thank you! As Suzie in Miracle on 34th Street said, "I believe....I believe...its silly but I believe". Alas on 35th and Shields there are no feel good stories. Chris Getz wasn't the good and benevolent Santa and he was in no mood to deliver savagery. He was more like the evil Santa in A Christmas Story. "3 left handed savages? What's wrong with you kid, you'll shoot your eye out! Here's a stale candy cane, some defense and alot of "character""....and then he kicked me down the slide. Such is the life of a Sox fan on Christmas. Hurry it up Yamamoto even if my dream is no more than a fantasy

I liked Codi Heuer when he was here. Whenever i see his name I always think of an Angels/White Sox game where I was watching the local Angels broadcast and the Angels guy said Heuer had the look of a TV/movie villain. He was right too, in that moment on the mound the dude had like an evil smile and his hat was like darkly covering half his face at that angle. It's hard to describe but they were definitely right, almost like a young Frank Gorshin or something who had the look on his face like he had concocted some diabolical plan.

Yuki Matsui (LHRP) close to signing with SD

Congrats @caulfield12 -
I too am accepting that it will be ATL and that I'll hate the return. It's sad that Getz is putting his pig headed belief in Limp Dick Ball ahead of the good of the team but whatever. IMO, even if BAL gave him the package he wanted he still wouldn't do it, he's just using them to drive up the price for an all pitching deal elsewhere. Even if Elias wasn't prospect hoarding, I'm increasingly of the belief that BAL is out. I'm not going to twist myself into a pretzel to believe it's a good return. I'm not going to call chicken s%*# chicken salad. f*** Atlanta, f*** the Royals and f*** Chris Getz. Not necessarily in that order.
-
Anything from ATL that doesn't involve a legit LHS is weak. And no....the fact that they don't have a legit LHS doesn't change that conclusion and is not our problem.
-
Yeah this is lame. I'd rather go with the Reds if we are going to do something stupid, assuming they are willing to part with Lowder, Petty and Jorge. Fucking lame
-
Harold you said earlier they are going to get bats in this trade.....WTF.

Super depressing.

From what I've seen he wants to be a Yankee it's just an issue of showing Cashman the other offers and seeing whether they will match or come close. IMO Cohen will present a contract superior to Gerrit Cole's in an attempt to create an awkward situation for NYY where this new guy will have to be making more than their in house Cy Young winner and he's betting NYY won't go that far.
-
BAL doesn't really have the ability to match the NYY move for move anyway. I wouldn't necessarily hate a NYM signing, it makes LAD more desperate because their staff is still garbage and is banking on the health of a porcelain doll. It also makes a number of other teams including NYY and BOS more desperate too. I really want BOS to be in on Cease. If we could pry two LHS from them it would be great.
