You are setting yourself up for extreme disappointment when it becomes readily apparent that "the plan" is to have Beni be the 2nd leading position player in HRs. They are going all in on pitching, D, speed and small ball. They don't care that there's a short porch for LHS at GRF. Getz simply DGAF. It's almost as stupid as constructing a roster full of RHH like his predecessor did.

I think Giants are going to overpay Snell once they are out on Yamamoto so they can show fans they can actually sign someone. But if they were interested I would take Harrison, Luciano and Grant McCray. If they aren't going to give up Harrison, it will be difficult to do a deal with SFG.

So how is it possible that ATL could win the bidding? Seemingly everyone expects that including Bob yet I'm being told both pitchers aren't going to be part of it and I'm being told Kelenic won't be in it either. They don't have the material otherwise. AJSS+ Grissom + Schwellenbach or whatever does not even get them into the zip code of Cease and maybe not even the same galaxy as Cease. That would be worse than the Herschel Walker trade from back in the 80s.

There's too much smoke here Jimmy. We're all hoping it's misdirection but it's coming from everywhere and was it Rogers who said Getz wants to go pitching heavy in this deal. I pretty much give up at this point. And I don't think it would be done already if it's ATL. If they are truly desperate, then they'll be even more desperate when they are competing against the teams who lost out on Yamamoto, Snell, Montgomery etc. If it's ATL they must get Kelenic plus both pitchers. There is no way around it. I'm sick and fucking tired of our lineup looking like trash against any semi-decent RHP.

Push comes to shove and it's only 3 pieces, dump Grissom and insist on Kelenic as the 3rd piece. He has to be in that deal along with both pitchers. Getz has broken me...im starting to accept this will be a SP heavy trade and he doesn't give a damn about savagery. I dont see it being BAL even though we all want it and even if BAL was willing to deal. Dude is all in on pitching, defense, speed and athleticism. He just doesn't care about bats. Just give me at least a little nibble of LH savagery. Just give me something left handed I can be semi excited about at this point. ?

Only way we can realistically get 2 bats and 2 arms is AJSS, Waldrep, Kelenic and Grissom. Kelenic must be in the package if ATL wins the bidding imo.

I didn't say he should be the whole compensation, just part of it...same thing with Busch. If we're getting one SP, one legit position player and one savage bat only i don't think people will complain about the fact that one guy is bat only if the bat is savage worthy.

On the contrary Several folks here doubted Tyler "Glass Joe" Glasnow with a high salary and 1 year of control would get even a single Top 100 prospect or its equivalent. He ended up getting MORE than that. Not only was Pepiot Top 100 before he graduated and had a promising start to his career but TB ALSO foisted onto the LAD salary dump as well. BTV had the LAD giving up something around 20 MILLION in excess SV to land Glasnows limited services. This was the epitome of overpaying for pitching. If Getz has to settle for a trade with ATL in this market I'm going to scream.

We obtained alot of pitching that was relatively well thought of at the time in Nastrini, Eder and Bush and now signed Fedde and traded for 2 pitchers from ATL. They also presumably spent good money to lure Bannister here to develop our pitchers and we have a potential ace in the pipeline that probably isn't super far away from the majors. So let Bannister work. If we have blow our wad on elite prospect pitching in order to get good pitching, WTF is Bannister for? What value is he adding? We now need to address positional needs. We do not need to obtain 7th and 8th pitchers BEFORE meaningfully addressing positional needs. Savages come first and no Grissom is not a savage.

AJSS+Waldrep isn't a great offer if that's even the offer. AJSS+Waldrep+Grissom STILL isn't a great offer. A great offer actually addresses our long term needs.

As it should be. Which is why it's baffling/frustrating that seemingly every reporter keeps saying Atlanta when they don't have alot to offer.

1/14 is very reasonable in this market....that should have been done unless they blew their wad on Fedde or are thinking of bringing back Giolito instead.

At 60m it's a fair straight up deal. If Getz could get Anthony and Teel for Cease it would be a huge coup.

Imo that would be great and you can layer trade Quero for pitching or 2B or whatever else we need. Cease is 40 SV....the other two combined are around 57-58 I think but in this market it's a reasonable ask....we could throw in something, I dunno what they want or need...im not going to say Santos as I don't want Lip Man to jump down my throat.

Eh...the age thing is a legit concern but BA believes he has 55 hit/60 power from left side and IMO that's quite valuable for us even if he ends up at 1B. If you go by @Chicago White Sox hypothetical trade, we would still address 2B/SS in Sweeney and also quality RF and SP additions. If realistically Sheehan is the headliner and I guess Busch and Pages are kind of 2A and 2B in the package it's fine. That's a really strong offer if it were to come to fruition and IMO it would be superior to any likely BAL offer. You are getting 4 guys who could all be on the ball club at some point in 2024.
