While Steve's response is a bit over the edger here, I think he and many White Sox employees are probably fed up with the negative doom and gloom tone from many Sox fans.
If you're pissing your pants on the Sox not trying to sign Teheran (or any other washed up pitcher for that matter), then your big picture look at things are completely out of focus.

Adam Eaton at the very least can PR and play the OF as a late inning replacement if he were to suck as an everyday bat in the lineup.

How would this be any different than the sorry ass work Hahn has done in the past of getting over the hill scrubs like Gio Gonzalez, Matt Latos, Derek Holland, Ervin Santana?
Only the Dodgers and perhaps the Yankees have the finances to operate this way.
All other teams if you can't pay cheaply for 2/5 or 3/5 of your rotation, you are screwed.
