White Sox @ Royals 1:15pm CST. Giolito vs Keller
I would love to trade for Whit Merrifield, who is apparently available. Signed through 2023 on a super team friendly deal. He is basically the all-star version of Leury Garcia. Could fill 2B or RF/LF for us.

Jose should have been safe at 2nd base I think. Looks like the Royal's player's foot left the bag when he jumped before the ball got there, and he landed way off of it.

Gio is amazing, and so is James McCann's game calling. 5 Ks looking means he is completely out-foxing the batters

Is Ricky Renteria once again simply a placeholder manager?
Assistant to the Executive Vice President.

Those seem about equally unlikely at this point.

You can support a team without supporting the front office (or the owner, who is there to profit off of your unconditional support)

I love baseball. 1st inning, Jose absolutely smokes a ball down the 3B line, but was out. Now, Moncada bloops a little spinner out to shallow left, and has an RBI stand-up double. What a dumb, beautiful game.

Stats confirmed my suspicion: The Sox have been awful at hitting sac flies this year. So frustrating.

I LOOOOOOVE Jace Fry talking about how sweet he is for getting his girlfriend flowers for Mother's day. The GF he knocked up while cheating on his (now ex)fiancee. LOL

Are you criticizing him for NOT being a fair-weather fan? What?- 6/7 White Sox @ Royals (7:15 PM)
Let's not forget, Cease and Kopech have not proved themselves yet, and both have already had a TJ. I think they'll be good, but it is far from a sure thing.- 6/7 White Sox @ Royals (7:15 PM)
We're Sox fans, we're allowed to reclaim it- 6/7 White Sox @ Royals (7:15 PM)
Just make two accounts, duh- 6/7 White Sox @ Royals (7:15 PM)
Let's just make two game threads from now on: one for optimists, one for pessimists. I don't think either group will miss the other.- Is Ricky Renteria once again simply a placeholder manager?
I love Jirschele, and I'd much rather have him than RR or Vizquel. However, I wonder if it would work in such sport like baseball where traditions have such a strong pull. Can a 29 year old guy bench a 35 year old veteran without losing the locker room? Seems like his age would be a much bigger challenge for him at the MLB level vs A+- White Sox All Stars
Jonah Keri put up his early All-star picks at The Athletic. (Behind a paywall, but totally worth it because James Fegan does great work). Gio is his only Sox on the team. Chirinos was the only reserve catcher, so maybe McCann has a shot if the manager goes with more (IMO there should always be at least 3 catchers, if not more, just because of the strain of the position).- The $$$$ will be spent!
If MLB implements the rule that bullpen arms have to stay for three batters, having balanced line-up construction will be more important. It will also reduce the number of times LHB have to face LHP. However, I agree it isn't the most important factor.- Where is Nick Madrigal at in his development?
While he definitely needs to develop at least some double power and walk more, let's take a moment to appreciate what he does insanely well. 325 PAs in A+, he struck out 11 times. Absurd. If I took 325 PAs off of a batting tee, I'd K more than that.- Sox @ Nats (Covey vs Sanchez) 12:05 PM CT First Pitch
We have KC next so who knows.... But this reminds me of that May 2016 series against the Rangers. Had two horrible losses, and the team just nose-dived.- ***Day 2 MLB Draft Thread Rounds 3-10***
It is also way better for development to have constant access to good coaches, fitness experts, and nutritionists.- White Sox All Stars
Compared to the rest of the AL first basemen, Abreu is 7th in OPS, and his BA is below .250. I think he's been fine this year, but he is no where close to a lock for the ASG.- Where is Nick Madrigal at in his development?
All of those are bench pieces. Leury Garcia is fun, but not as a top-5 draft pick.- ***Day 1 MLB Draft Thread***
I was referring to the Emmy-nominated (yes, really) Harold Reynolds, on the draft broadcast. - 6/7 White Sox @ Royals (7:15 PM)
