  1. Woodruff and Hader would be insane and make Sox immediate favorites in the AL. Kiss every prospect good bye though. Dunning and Vaughn definitely gone and Stiever, Collins and one more major piece would go. If you can somehow keep Kopech and pull that off...the next four years are insane.
  2. I quoted it in the other thread, reds are NOT selling and possibly buying since they just won 3 in a row. So Bauer is out
  3. Would rangers trade Lynn today since he is supposed to start tonight? Avoid the injury risk? Or do they hope he pitches well and wait til the absolute deadline? Could be an interesting day
  4. Oswalt is exactly who I was thinking about. He totally cratered at the end of his career. Stroman should have a good 3-4 years left hopefully though.
  5. Bauer officially out. Twins were after him... https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/08/reds-planning-to-buy-at-trade-deadline.html
  6. Yeah, partially tore his left calf and then decided to opt out rather than try to finish his rehab. He should be fine, but I think with covid contracts, he probably gets like a 2/40 or 3/55 contact with some type of option structure added
  7. Stroman is NOT getting 4/80 coming off injury. He is either getting a prove it contract or a 2-3 year deal with options added. I like him a lot, but short starting pitchers normally fade as they get older and FB diminishes
  8. The last few seasons the top of the ninth turns into complete disaster. This season, the ball is falling their way and they are just finding ways to redeem mistakes and win. With injuries to other clubs...this is getting real boys.
  9. Just love how many pitches Yaz sees. So great for Abreu
  10. Professional at bat right there. Haven't seen enough of those from Nomar yet. Hopefully he's seeing the ball better. One time now TA7
  11. Poor Danny Duffy. Lefty about to get LIT up. Lefty starters this season against this lineup:
  12. Nope. And now Lynn's price just added another top 10 org prospect. Lynn is literally the only elite pitcher "on" the market now.
  13. this is great news to get Eloy out of the field in the 8th and 9th innings. LOVE that they are making playoff roster moves. Pitcher HAS to be in the works to commit to this.
  14. Here is your best options to go ALL out this season and for the future. Both are EXPENSIVE. Option 1 is MUCH more likely - Mets Probably won't make a trade. Option 1: 2020 - Giolito Lynn D.K. Cease Gonzalez/Lopez - Dunning & Stiever BOTH are gone to to get Lynn (they dont want Madrigal, they have to pay Odor ridiculous contract) 2021 - Giolito Lynn D.K. Kopech Cease - Lynn is FA after 2022 - Giolito Kopech D.K. Cease Crochet/Thompson 2023- Giolito Kopech D.K. Cease Crochet/Kelley Option 2: 2020 - DeGrom Giolito D.K. Cease Gonzalez/Lopez - Kopech and Stiever are gone to get DeGrom + Collins and Adolpho 2021- DeGrom Giolito D.K. Cease Dunning 2022 - DegGrom Giolito D.K. Cease Dunning/Crochet. - Extremely Expensive Salaries 2023 - DeGrom Giolito DK Cease Dunning/Crochet/Kelley. Extremely Expensive Salaries, probably would have to trade one Here is stand pat. This solution is MUCH cheaper but relies on signing either Bauer, Stroman or a lesser talent Option 3: 2020 Giolito D.K. Cease Gonzalez Dunning/Lopez 2021 Giolito Bauer D.K. Cease Kopech/Dunning 2022 Giolito Kopech D.K. Dunning Stiever/Crochet (Maybe Bauer signs) 2023 Giolito Kopech D.K. Crochet/Dunning Kelly/Steiver Which option is likely? Which option wins the most?
  15. 12 years of control for a potential TOR starter and perennial gold glove 2nd baseman for 34 starts of a 34 year old is not a good value. Give them Dunning, Collins and Stiever and maybe you can stomach that. And Thompson and Dahlquist are too unproven to know at this point.
  16. I'm all for trading for Lynn...but to give up Kopech and Madrigal you better be getting DeGrom
  17. Can we find out the 25% that would love it so I immediately add them to my ignore list?
  18. Based on all the posts on this thread, it seems to me that the this group is typically okay with trading the following in some form: Cease, Dunning, Adolfo & Collins. If you offered that group right now would that net DeGrom? You still keep Kopech and Steiver for 2021 and beyond and Vaughn and Madrigal still are core elements (Meaning every position is either signed long term or home grown cheap). Losing Cease would really sting, but you are upgrading to the best pitcher in baseball currently, and you lose a #3-4 starter with 6 years of control, a catcher that nobody believes in and a RF that quite honestly is a lottery ticket at this point.
  19. please keep politics out of this as asked on original post. This is the teams decision to make, not ours.
