  1. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Dec 29, 2006 -> 11:40 PM) Mom told me the most priceless story about how she was kicked off the bus on Tuesday. She was sick and coughing heavily -- into her sleeve and hand, mind you -- and the drive finally pulled over and said, "Lady, you've got to get off the bus" and for fifteen minutes she sat there pretending not to speak English! "Lady, you need to get off. DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M SAYING?" "No." Finally, when she was getting off the bus she turns and says, "Hey everybody. f*** you!" and catches the bus that was about a block behind the bus she'd been kicked off. Crafty! Maybe there's something wrong with she and I but we both found that hilarious. That type of confrontation and anger is humorous to us both. To me, most confrontation is comical provided it doesn't lead to violence or broken hearts -- although the latter one can indeed be funny at times. I'm tempted to take this to the CTA as I have friends at the top of the Authority (specifically, fathers of a few friends) but I'm not going to. That said, I thought the driver was way out of line and I know that she'd lose her job for such a thing. My mom was a little out of line, too, at the end -- though I've gotta say that I admire her theatrics! Please report that ignorant driver to your friend's father. People like that need to be disciplined. The CTA is a mess - if they fired every incompetent, lazy, rude and/or ignorant CTA worker, they'd have to close the entire operation down until they hired enough people to replace them all.
  2. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 31, 2006 -> 09:18 AM) Wow, I never heard that before. I never really thought about it, because the two guys that were caught were basically kids(idiot kids at that, you cant flash your world championship Bulls ring around without drawing attention to how you got it). I would tend to believe that his dad was in the wrong place at the wrong time. His gambling problem doesnt necassarily make him a bad person in my eyes, just an addictive personality. Its a problem he has, but he can afford his problem. The cheating is something that lessens him in my eyes. If you make a commitment to someone, you should be man (or woman) enough to live up to it.
  3. SO glad Chuck won. Tito's a prick, and Chuck's my favorite MMA fighter. Maybe Tito will shut up for 5 minutes now that Chuck whipped his ass again.

I saw Rocky Balboa tonight - eh. Wasn't great, didn't suck. Pretty forgettable, though.
  5. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Dec 29, 2006 -> 10:59 PM) Well, the fact the guy is worth 23475320657423432 million dollars might've had something to do with that. Or, just to play devil's advocate, maybe she wanted her kids to have a two-parent home during their younger years and tried to hang on for that reason. I don't know her, so I don't know her reasons for staying then or leaving now, but sometimes one parent tries to stay for the sake of the kids until they can't take it anymore.
  6. That's cruel. They should at least let him watch the Bears & Packers and down a few PBR's for the New Year.
  7. Ahhhh, Christian Cage + a microphone = good, good times. Very good promo again tonight.
  8. That stupid f***ing Dunkin Donuts "Fritalian" commercial pisses me off every time I see it. "When you get a LATTE from Dunkin Donuts.....you order it in ENGLISH....." Latte, of course, is a word of ITALIAN origin. "....Perhaps they're diiiipshiiiiits...."
  9. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 27, 2006 -> 04:23 PM) Southsider2K(how many posts you have at the end of 2006). Is there a limit to how many characters a username can have? Besides, southsider2k6,350,546 doesn't really roll off the tongue....
  10. The "my daughter STILL hasn't opened all of her Christmas presents yet" Shuffle: Boston - Peace Of Mind The Riverboat Gamblers - Hey! Hey! Hey! Ginger - Change Motorpsycho - Scarred For Life The Boomtown Rats - When The Night Comes Megadeth - Go To Hell Sugar - After All The Roads Have Led To Nowhere Naked Raygun - The Strip Run DMC - King Of Rock Loverboy - Turn Me Loose and the "so return it if you don't like it" bonus extra track: Testament - Shades Of War
  11. For me, the "resurrection"/character assassination/slow murder of ECW is hardest for me to watch. I'd give the Gooker to Vince & Family, although they're basically competing against themselves in this "competition". CLOSE behind in second place is the abuse of Eddie's name and memory, but the Guerreros are a wrestling family, so they've seen this happen before. Chavo & Vickie have a hand in it as well, so the family has no "higher moral ground" to stand on. Same theory with Michaels and his faith, and the rest of the nominees are just stupid and not worth comment.
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Dec 26, 2006 -> 01:40 PM) Someone gifted you a giveaway. I was sitting in the patio for that game. We put bags over their heads. It was brutal. It may have been a giveaway, but it's going for 65 bucks on eBay now. It is a cool little piece of tchatchki.
  13. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Dec 26, 2006 -> 01:18 AM) There's a Death of WCW book? *runs to amazon.com* Yep. Written by the wrestlecrap.com guys, the book details the multitude of stupid decisions that killed WCW, focusing on the backstage politicking of guys like Hogan and Nash in particular. I had to force myself to put it down and save it for later. It's VERY good, and very detailed.
  14. Sox-related: a set of White Sox dominoes non-Sox related: Cardinals road jersey w/WS patch Cardinals WS locker room t-shirt Cardinals NL Champs hat cell phone some blank CD-R's and DVD-R's wallet (with Best Buy gift card inside) another Best Buy gift card iTunes gift card Starbucks gift card (I don't go to Starbucks, so I handed it to my wife after the party) Kissology DVD set (which I already have, so I'll return/exchange this soon) some cash (went into my daughter's savings) a pocket-sized electronic poker game The Death Of WCW book
  15. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Dec 25, 2006 -> 08:17 PM) Even if you don't like K-Dawg, you gotta feel for the man. He went to have his hip surgery and the docs found his kidneys to be so bad, they wouldn't risk the surgery. He's on dialysis now and may very well need a kidney transplant. Is the doctor a Gringo?
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 23, 2006 -> 03:00 PM) Haeger seems like the leading candidate. Agreed. Although this will make for an interesting spring training, for sure.
  17. It's interesting timing on this trade, to say the least. Now one of the "others" will have to step up for then 5th starter spot.
  18. You want stupid rasslin-based funny? Here ya go:
  19. I'm glad this is another team's problem. He'd probably pop a lung if he took a deep breath.
  20. I'd give Kid Gleason an extra pair of ears, to listen to his 6.5 million CDs, and two extra pair of hands to type his zine with.
  21. The CTA sucks balls. Fire everyone, starting with "Excuse-y" Kruesi, and start over.
  22. QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 15, 2006 -> 02:52 AM) Wood blows out his elbow playing Tennis on the Wii. Then whacks Prior in the face on the backswing, breaking his nose. Then Harry Caray's Restaurant blows up the Wii, and uses it (along with the "Bartman Ball" and goat meat) to make pasta sauce.
  23. QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Dec 18, 2006 -> 06:27 PM) Waits to get brought up somewhere... My favorite album of the year, is Sam's Town by the Killers. Love it, and it's better than the two videos they put out off of that album. I'm glad you liked Sam's Town, and I'm not kidding or being sarcastic, but they totally lost me with that disc. I loved Hot Fuss, and while I didn't want Hot Fuss Volume II, I was hoping for that same type of feel to the disc. As it turned out, When You Were Young is the only song I really like from that disc. I can't even list any top albums of the year, to be honest. This was a very forgettable year for music IMO.
  24. QUOTE(MinnesotaSoxFan @ Dec 18, 2006 -> 09:19 PM) I got a little excited...I thought they were gonna be in action. But yeah, that was a lame skit. They're getting Vinced right now. There's only so many times you can tell the same joke, no matter how funny the joke originally was. They need some kind of progress in their skits/characters soon, or else they'll become the Black Highlanders.
