  1. QUOTE(daa84 @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 05:11 PM) i disagree....hes an incredible hitter, and a hall of famer without roids probably, but 73 and 700 wouldnt happen without em Yeah, that's why I said "most" of what he's done. I think 55-60 for a season would have still been possible for him naturally, with expansion/terrible pitching/etc., but as I said we will never know. The "douche factor" is indisputable, though.
  2. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 05:11 PM) I don't believe that at all. If you assume he didn't use the juice until the balls started flying like crazy off of his bat in like 2000, he probably would have hit somewhere between 500-600 home runs in his career. But, since there are plenty of steroids out there which make you stronger but don't make you explode...if he was willing to use the cream & the clear, why should we believe that he didn't use any sort of enhancement in his first decade in baseball? Maybe he did, but he didn't appear freakishly large. Plus, he was a base stealer and a more complete player when younger. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for his Pittsburgh years at least.
  3. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 03:48 PM) Ha, online translators are awful. I am not understanding the meaning of statements you are making. Translations being read are seeming perfect fine to reader me.
  4. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 05:01 PM) Don't count on it. He is an incredible hitter. An incredible hitter who PROBABLY could've done most of what he's done without "chemical enhancement". Sadly, we'll never know. He's also an incredible douche. THAT he accomplished all on his own.
  5. Just got "Free s***!" by Naked Raygun in the mail the other day. God, I miss that band. Great live disc by a legendary Chicago punk band.
  6. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 04:06 PM) My oh my have times changed since 2004. Remember when we had just Mark and a bunch of question marks? The depth of this staff is unreal. Brandon will be a luxury that no other team has. My worst memory of 2004 is that every time I had tickets to a game, I got to see the latest episode of The 5th Starter Experiment. I didn't see Buerhle pitch in person one time that year. I don't miss The 5th Starter Experiment.
  7. Here's to an embarrassing Sammy-like 2006 season and shameful bitter combative retirement. Maybe he can have his kids hold up signs saying "Please Let My Daddy Break Aaron's Record".... :puke
  8. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 18, 2006 -> 02:47 PM) So the Sox DID get something for Willie Harris after all???
  9. This is nice for speculation, but I don't put a lot of weight on statistical speculation. Baseball has so many intanigbles that I think it's very tough to try to predict anything. Interesting chart, though - surprised to see the Cardinals speculated to finish 4th. I certainly don't see the Brew Crew as being better than the Sox. 92 wins is VERY optimistic for Milwaukee. They'll be pretty damn good, but 92 wins? I'd be stunned.
  10. Good penalty kill, nice opportunistic goal by Modano. 1-1.
  11. I've been with......seven thous-....no, MILLION.....seven MILLION women....yeah....THAT's the ticket!!!
  12. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 09:29 AM) "Oh, I'm [screwed],'' McCarthy said. "I'm so [screwed].'' Sounds like "screwed" wasnt the word used.... But [screwed] he IS, make no doubt about it! He's gonna take so much s*** over Mr. B!
  13. QUOTE(bmags @ Feb 18, 2006 -> 02:07 PM) i quite enjoy some of their midnineties stuff... So you disagree with my opinion, then? That's cool, I just never got into them at all.
  14. QUOTE(bmags @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 05:44 PM) ween's recent stuff...like past 7 years actually is painfully bad. Ween's stuff ever is painfully bad. Local H is 1000x better than Ween can dream of being. Opinion, of course. Well, actually, this one is fact....
  15. I was up in Janesville, WI this morning. 13 below zero this morning up there. Now the garage door lock is frozen. Wonderful.
  16. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 02:28 PM) So I just get back from lunch and a doctor's appointment. Turned on the Score to check in on George Offman's White Sox report on Murph's show. I was listening to the supposed White Sox report and they were talking abut Greg Maddux for 10 minutes so I turned it off. What the hell. That douchebag Murph has to talk Cubs even during the White Sox spring training report. So annoying. The sooner you realize that Mike Murphy will turn a conversation about Women's Badminton into a Cub discussion, the sooner you will turn off his show for good and the happier you will be.
  17. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 01:56 PM) Sosa's decline started when he got nailed in the head by Solomon Torres of the Pirates. The pitch shattered Sosa's helmet and from then on he stood a mile away from the plate. That and the inability to use steroids anymore is what made his numbers crap. DINGDINGDINGDING!!! We have a WINNAHHHHHH!!!!! That helmet-shatter from Torres f***ed SamME's mind up for good. He chicken-s***ted at the back corner of the batter's box from then on. Throw him inside heat and then curve, curve, curve, sit down.
  18. QUOTE(kman @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 01:06 PM) Use Stubwhore.com Nahhhh, I have my 9 games in the upper tank. I was just looking for some 1/2 price lowers for cheap. The other Monday games don't make sense for me, since I'm going to other games right around the same dates. The July 3rd one was THE ONE, but TicketAsshole didn't let that happen.
  19. For the second time, Ticketf***er cost me a chance at 3 lowers for July 3rd. I was in the payment screen for three in section 162 when the goddamned thing hung up on me and came back with the "sorry, unable to process your request" screen. I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally don't like Tickets***hole.....
  20. Can't really blame Scott Eyre or Bob Howry. They're just playing to their crowd. It happens. His comments might have hurt if the Cubs meant anything to us anymore.....
  21. I like him because: He seems to have the respect and attention of his pitchers He is the pitching coach of the 2005 World Series Champions and He sounds like he should be in GoodFellas
  22. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 02:36 PM) I know, I know... It will be interesting to see how they react if (when) we hit a slump. Wonder how many will jump off the ship at the first 3 game skid... :rolly Then YAY, we get the park back to ourselves!!!
  23. Cotts picked a VERY opportune time to catch his stride. I hope they can come to a deal that's fair for both sides. I think they will. Neal's going to be really important for this year's Sox.
  24. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 02:28 PM) Damn bandwagon jumpers... :headshake It's the price we pay for success. I liked having the run of the park, but I think we all knew that was over when the Sox did what they did in October. This is what people get for all those "get your ass out to the park" threads I saw the past couple years.....
