QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 11:55 AM) http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/Music/08/3...reut/index.html I loved Voi Vod, especially Killing Technology. I like the stuff I have heard with the return to style for them, but I haven't bought any of their stuff in years. He was too young though man. Was it him or Away that had already beat cancer back in the late 80's? More on the site: http://www.voivod.com/ Yeah, I read that on Blabbermouth, that sucks. Not sure who had the cancer before. I have the most recent Voivod disc, the one with Gasmask Revival. I love that song. The disc is okay to good, not great but a decent listen. With that sparkling recommendation, I can burn it for you if you want it.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 11:03 AM) In my younger days I got Sebastian Bach quite a bit. But...now I am bald. I think it was more of a hair comparison that anything else. Now I look more like Ed Harris. :rolly I can sorta see the Bas comparison, from your facial features, although I would HOPE you weren't as "femmy" as Bas. Ed Harris, I dunno....I think that's just from the Follicle Deprivation.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 10:57 AM) LOL!!! Not sure I see it...but that is pretty friggin' funny! I don't actually think I look much like Buddy Hackett, but that was my self-depricating comparison in high school. The other 3 comparisons, I kinda actually think I look or looked like them....

I really like Green Day up to the American Idiot disc. Not because of their politics, because I don't care who entertainers vote for, but because the disc bores me. Only one song, the title track, sounds like it would fit on any other Green Day disc. It's a meandering, mid-tempo snorefest. And along the lines of what Kid said, Green Day is helping the environment with all the riffs they've "recycled" for that disc.

Buddy Hackett Steve Dahl Andy Milanakis (sp?) could play the teenaged me Josh of "Drake & Josh" could also play the teenaged me ....that's right, ladieeeeeeees, I'm a LOOKER.......

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 10:30 AM) You should have gone to The Wiggles show at the All-State a few weeks ago! THAT was entertainment value for your dollar!!! My wife took my daughter to a Wiggles show a couple years ago, and she shook hands with MURRAY WIGGLE!!! Murray, for those who don't know, is like the Mike Nesmith of the Wiggles. He is the guitarist and "rock star" of the Wiggles, so it was VERY cool to meet him! Of course, it all happened too fast for the Mrs. to get the camera out of her purse, so there's no photographic evidence of the meeting, just my daughter's re-telling of her Murray encounter every time the Wiggles are on TV.

QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 11:00 PM) Most scientists will tell you that 102 mph is physically impossible. 4 out of 5 scientists agree, throwing 102 is impossible. Of course, I talked to that 5th scientist so I believe it can be done.....

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 04:12 PM) Good grief.. I thought I, at the very least, would get some crap about this one.. I think it's because everybody gave you s*** last time you had a Rob Thomas thread, and we're all out of jokes..... And while I personally don't like his music, my wife does and she sort of agrees on the "yum" aspect, except she says he has "stalker eyes"....

I don't believe anyone's gun number anymore. EVERYONE is throwing at least 93-95 on those guns, and I refuse to believe that everyone throws that hard. I haven't paid attention, but I bet those guns have Maddux in the low 90's. That said, Jenks has been pretty damn good lately. His fastball has some life to it, and that curve of his is nasty. NICE pickup by KW!

I'd like to think I'd take that walk, but I know what a complete pussy I am about heights, so I probably wouldn't do it. I KNOW my wife would, though - she's flown a plane, parasailed, bungeed, loves roller coasters, all that s***.

Hey, I ALMOST started a "Griffey Rumor Volume 24" thread.... ....and LMB, AM1000 is actually a radio station....
-
I didn't hear all the details, but Brooooooooooooth Levine just said on AM1000 that there's still some life in a Griffey deal, and if he signs off on it the deal could be done in the next couple of days. I thought the whole KG2 thing was dead?

QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 07:58 PM) I'd rather have Todd Walker. Yep. Me too. Nomar is now an older, injury-prone player who will still try to get that money back that he turned down in Boston.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 09:50 AM) Unless you're the Pirates I think maybe the Pirates think they're in the NL East. I don't see them dealing with NL East teams too much....

Timo has an important role as a bench player and pinch-hitter, and I think he has done well enough at it. He's not an everyday player IMO, but he's been thrust into that role with Pods down. The Sox bench is not deep and not flexible, so you make do with what you have. Timo has come through with some timely hits, but he can frustrate you at times too. Seems like maybe he concentrates better when the game's on the line. He's a "spare part" that almost every good team has on the bench - the Sox have been forced to over-use him right now, that's how I see it anyway.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 08:12 PM) I don't mean to take anything away, but those Twins lineups were anything but threatening. It may have been a playoff atmosphere, but it wasn't even close to a playoff opponent. I see what you're saying, and I agree to a point. While the offense is still inconsistent and Minny was missing a few key guys, you still have to like how the Sox battled back after a VERY tough loss. The play in the 9th yesterday could've been a killer, but the Sox kept fighting. Blum made a HUGE play adjusting his slide, and all around the Sox played pretty solid D. There are still concerns for sure, but all in all there was a lot to like about that series. Now, if the Sox could only play with the same intensity at home....

QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 11:34 PM) Anybody ever smell hockey bag? One of the worst smells in history. I was a goalie for many years. Goalie equipment bag = even worse than position players' equipment bag. :puke

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 10:43 AM) That's the problem though. I can't find anybody to be the employees. There never was any questions really, when I have had bands, they were MY bands. I won't do bands anymore due to people always eventually want a say, and I won't give them a say. Nowdays a band will not be a "Band". Ladieeeeeeeeeeeees aaaaaaaaaaaand Gentlemennnnnnnnnn...... Without further adieu.................. Would you PLEASE welcome.................... Kid Gleason & The Voiceless Submissive Acolytes!!!!! ....I LIKE IT!!!!
