  1. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 09:22 AM) Still larger than I would like...but it wouldn't shrink anymore. So, I'll leave it for a day or two...and then it's gone. That's one sharp-dressed muzzafuzzahhh!!!!
  2. "As of this morning we have sold 88 tix for the outing. Not bad, but not what we had hoped for considering the amount of website chatter." Translation: "You guys TALK a good game, but when it's time to , where are you?"

    WOOOOHOOOOOOO!

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) So cross your fingers and hope that they enjoy "Schwa Deletion and Epenthesis: Acquiring phonological variants using an artificial lexicon" as much as I do! WOOHOOOOOOOOOOO! I have the comic book version of that, and Ben Affleck would be AWESOME in a film adaptation.
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 11:12 AM) I don't know why they don't say it, but revenues over face price go to chisox charities. They really should make that clear - otherwise it just looks like scalping. That's nice that they do that, but I still ain't biddin'!!! I couldn't care less about the Yankees. I wonder if TicketBastard and Trent Reznor are going to donate the money over face to charity too, then???
  5. 6. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 10:21 AM) I hear ya. It's funny how much money people will pay for tix. Why the eff is anyone paying $1,000 to see a concert? Apparently, a lot of people do, because good seats to shows are never empty. It's not even an issue of having the money, it's just not worth it. I can't think of any band that I'd pay more than $100 to see... and that would have to be for one of my favorite bands in a damn good seat. Before the "black album" I used to say that Metallica was the only band I'd consider paying 100 bucks to see. Now that is down to $12.50 for them.... There is literally no band I'd pay 100 to see. None.
  7. QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 10:15 AM) Yep...Perrault is someone that would fit well in a Red and White sweater. ....but does Detroit have any interest in Perrault? There IS some black in the Blackhawks' color scheme, y'know....
  8. B&R's avatar looks like there's a Magical Light emitting from Billy Ocean's penis. I HOPE that's the just the camera flash..... ..... ...... ...... :puke
  9. So I got a spam email from TicketBastard this morning informing me about an "exciting opportunity" to get into an online auction for Nine Inch Nails tickets. So now people are going to have to BID for tickets to concerts by "popular" artists??? Looks like TheBastard is trying to eliminate the concept of fixed ticket prices and make the concert ticket purchasing process into a blind auction, therefore almost guaranteeing that people will overpay for seats to shows. God DAMN, Ticketmaster sucks giant ass. When I read s*** like this, I'm GLAD I'm a crusty old f***er whose concert days are nearing an end.....
  10. Glad you had a good time! Of those bands, I'd have only mild interest in seeing Unwritten Law. 311 is very "meh" as you young whippersnappers like to say , and I dislike Papa Roach quite a bit.
  11. QUOTE(Spiff @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 10:01 PM) Feller sounded like an idiot. The host kept asking him what rules the Carribean players don't know and he was just like "uh...I don't know, I don't have a rule book. But they don't know 'em". :headshake so basically he said "I don't know the rules they don't know, but they don't know 'em so they're stupid"??? hahahahahahaha.............imbecile.
  12. ( for ease of viewing, the green in the following post will be implied. Thank you, and please enjoy..... ) I'm sorry, but Brendan Fraser's greatest work is, was, and will always be the mighty: "AIRHEADS" In my best Will Farrel imitation of James Lipton: "If you only see one movie for the rest of your life, do yourself a favor and rent the 1992 cinematic triumph known as "Airheads". An all-star cast - household names, one and all. Fraser.......Sandler.......Buscemi.......McKean........Arquette......the list is LITERALLY endless. WONDERFULLY acted, BRILLIANTLY written, a time capsule on celluloid depicting a time when young metal bands struggled for their voice to be heard, and how desperation can set in and cause ANY OF US to do regrettable things.....all in the name of CHASING A DREAM, and how can THAT be wrong?????"
  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 10:05 AM) Don't worry, when that restraining order expires, I will be right back in your bushes Wow, I feel sorry for the dude whose bushes you're hiding in..... ....we don't have bushes..... ( feeling a little safer already )
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 10:05 AM) Liar. No, No, I REALLY MEAN IT!!! I heard somewhere that some PRETTY GOOD teams might make the playoffs this year!!!
  15. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 09:41 AM) I think you'll see Neal will be a starter or closer before he's done. He's got what it takes. The way he's been throwing this year, I'd like to see him close games someday. He definitely seems fearless out there.
  16. No. Play the games, try to win every one of them. No worrying about who the opponent is. At some point, you MIGHT have to beat a good team or two to win the World Series....
  17. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 09:40 AM) Hour and a half on the train, just less than an hour on the rare occasion when I drive. The nice thing is that the place we just bought would have been at least double the cost in most of the decent Chicago burbs. No, the NICE thing is that you'll still be an hour and a half away by train.....
  18. Oh, now I MUST find out where you live and egg the f*** out of your house.....BOOK IT!!!! Congrats, Mike! Reading about your baby and the new house, I'm re-living 6 years ago......(shudder)......it's going to be a life-changing time for you, but it's also going to be exciting and great! to Mr & Mrs 2k5!!!!
  19. QUOTE(WSFAN35 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 11:04 AM) It's been verified by both ESPN and the Pittsburgh Penguins have put out a press release. This is a great deal for the Pens, as they have been the victims of salary dumping the last few years. I think the Hawks could have and should have gotten more for Thibault, but they didn't have much leverage in their dealings. As for as scorers left in the FA pool, some names that pop out to me are: Teemu Selanne, Peter Bondra, Alex Mogilny, and Anson Carter. Some lesser known guys: Jan Hrdina-learned from some of the best scorers in the world with the Penguins, Vincent Damphousse - Excellent faceoff man and incredible veteran leadership, Donald Audette-still has what it takes, Adam Deadmarsh-if someone's willing to take a chance on him he could be had for cheap and could provide a huge lift for any team, and Bates Battaglia-he's from Chicago. I've always liked Damphousse, and Bondra could give 'em some punch at the right price. Don't know how much gas is left in his tank, though.
  20. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) Yeah, didn't have Mick's wife and kids screaming though. I saw elsewhere that you might be looking at a new grill, did you decide on one yet? Yeah, but it's a temporary grill. Got a nice little grill ( 22 1/2" grate ) for like 40 bucks at Menard's. I still want to get a new Weber kettle grill, but this'll do for now. It's got a nice big grate and a slide-out ash catcher, for when ya wanna CATCH THAT ASH!!!! I'll still use the kettle for the bigger stuff, but I like the new one too. Gonna cook me up about "FIDDY POUNDA RIB....and a BELL PEPPA!!!"
  21. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 10:49 AM) That reminded me of Foley's bump off the cage vs. Taker. "That killed him, good god almighty". "HOW IN THE HELL IS HE GETTING UP?????" and that imbecile on the screen had the same glazed-over look that Foley had after the 11th chairshot from the Rock in the I Quit match.
  22. I have to admit that a very small corner of my brain was rooting for him to back through that hole and drop to the concrete below ( as long as no one else was hurt, of course....that was the REST of my brain saying that ).....as he was backing up the screen, that very very small corner of the brain was quietly saying "a little more.....closer.....closer.....thaaaaaaaaat's it........" ....does that make me evil????
  23. You just know he's got a little notepad with cutesy derogatory nicknames scribbled in crayon, just waiting for the Sox to lose. He's a typical "sports opinion" columnist who plays both sides of the fence, trying to appear to be "right". If he had called himself "right" any more often on his thankfully-extinct radio show, his headphones would've popped off his expanding dome. An assbag is what he is.
  24. THIS SATURDAY, ON ESPN!!!! IT'S The Notre Dame Debating Citizens of Irish Descent vs. The University of Illinois Illinoisians With Strong Dissenting Opinions BE THERE!!!!!! IT'S GONNA BE A WAAAAAARRRR!!!! I mean.....A BATTLE!!!!!.....I mean, AN ATHLETIC COMPETITION IN THE SPIRIT OF FAIR PLAY AND SPORTSMANSHIP!!!!!! In order to appease everyone, the following terms have also been changed: "bomb" will become "very long pass" "blitz" will become "hurrying towards the quarterback" "2 minute warning" will become "notice that only 2 minutes remain"
  25. QUOTE(WSFAN35 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 10:28 AM) Heard a report Thibault is traded to the Penguins for a fourth round draft pick. Nothing's verified yet, but I'm pretty sure it's golden. If that's true, it's too bad he wasn't worth a roster-ready player, but it does free up some cash for them to hopefully find another scorer somewhere. I haven't been paying much attention, are there any legit scorers still available that the Hawks would stand a realistic chance of signing?
