  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 02:39 PM) I'm still going to Survivor Series even with the awful card. I've never not had fun at a WWE live event so I'll pay a few bucks to go even if I'm not very excited about what they're offering me. I haven't been to a WWE live event since Chris Jericho made his debut on Raw. There is nothing the current product has to offer that would make me consider going to one now.
  2. Maybe if he wasn't serving up 5 hours of steaming piles every week, people would have more fun at their events. Although, to his point, why would anyone go to something if they weren't going to have fun? I know he'd have to pay me a large sum of cash to go to any WWE event these days. Absolute junk, week after week.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 18, 2014 -> 11:38 AM) They f***ed up the Bryan angle so bad, and now he is hurt for an indefinite amount of time. Word is that he is going to finally get tommy john surgery because rehab wasn't helping him get the strength and feeling back in his arm. That means no mania I've read that he wanted surgery right away when his arm wasn't responding, but WWE insisted on rehab. He should be pissed if that's true.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 13, 2014 -> 05:47 PM) We got cancelled. The field in Hoffman Estates is next to a marsh, and they called it at noon. Yay for cold makeups One year my fall ball team had a championship game postponed because neither of the umpires brought a ball and the sporting goods store wasn't open yet. It was sunny and about 60 degrees that day. The next week it was around 30 degrees and snowing HARD during our title game. That's not why we lost, but it sucked.
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 13, 2014 -> 01:04 PM) with this being the end of the season and October, they will make us play unless it is straight up pouring and/or lightning I hated playing in slop, especially in the outfield. I liked fall ball well enough unless it was soggy out - if it was dry and cold, that was my kind of weather!
  6. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 12, 2014 -> 08:33 PM) Muta still can bring it Definitely, but by "a little slower" I just meant that he's not as insanely quick and crisp in his moves as he was back when I first saw him against Sting in WCW (it was probably still the NWA back then, but you know what I mean).
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 12, 2014 -> 10:50 AM) How old is Muta? Still good? 51 years old, a little slower but I've always liked him.
  8. Just read the spoilers for Bound For Glory. Yikes. I can't imagine anyone buying this on PPV, especially on tape delay. It looks like a basic house show.
  9. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 12, 2014 -> 10:18 AM) Him doing what The Rock did to Rusev on Monday...oh man, big time mark out moment there. Poor Jack Swagger, lol. Remember when he was a thing?
  10. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 12, 2014 -> 09:49 AM) Angle is apparently in talks to come back to WWE. Besides Punk that'd be my favorite return possible at the moment. Really hoping that happens. He wants a part-time schedule (and rightly so, a full-time WWE schedule would lead to nothing good for him), that seems to be the stumbling block in negotiations. (well, besides Trips being pissed that Angle went over his head to Vince before) Funny how the part-timers gather more interest than 90% of the full-timers. WWE not doing the best job of building future stars over the years.
  11. Fleetwood Mac was really good on Friday night. Christine McVie in particular - looked and sounded great for a 71-year-old making her return to the stage after a prolonged absence. You kind of forget how many hits they had. All in all, a fun night, other than having to endure the 4 drunk bimbos in front of us who wouldn't shut up - thank goodness they were a little to our right so their drunken "dancing" wasn't directly in front of us. The poor couple next to us left early because they didn't want to deal with it anymore.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 5, 2014 -> 05:47 PM) https://vine.co/v/OKe9XYZuaEx Looks more Jeff Jarrett than Flair, although he did WHOOOOO afterwards.
  13. I enjoy a lot about TNA, and I was really liking it a lot about 6 months to a year ago. The stories made sense, feuds were built and then transitioned, and it was entertaining every week. Then all of the sudden the writing went to crap again and the product got a lot weaker. Everything Heyman has said about what he'd have done makes sense to me, and it's a damn shame Dixie was too short-sighted to give him the hiring/firing power he wanted. It's pretty sad to see TNA whimper out like this, and I do hope some cable channel gives them a deal, but it won't really matter unless they totally reinvent themselves. I don't see that happening, though (the reinvention, I mean - I think they'll get some sort of cable deal. Whether it's a good deal or not, that's another story altogether)
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 1, 2014 -> 09:00 PM) I'll give TNA credit for one thing,Mathis tag team series with Wolves, Hardys, and 3D has been really good. Sounds like Bound For Glory could be the end for TNA, at least until 2015. Yeah, they have a ton of stuff pre-recorded and I'm seeing rumors of "Best Of" shows to wrap up with Spike. To me, their fatal mistake was not handing the keys over to Heyman when he was showing some interest in taking over the book. I think they could absolutely have made a living with the 1.0 rating if they concentrated more on writing for the guys they had than signing old guys with famous names. Stories make stars, not the other way around.
  15. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 29, 2014 -> 11:23 AM) I really wish I could be at Raw tonight, always interesting to see how the crowd is going to be. I want CM Sandow to happen so bad. CM Sandow (or DS Punk) would be hilarious.
  16. I can't wait for Birdman. Keaton is great and hopefully the dark humor carries most of the film. Totally unrelated, after seeing a couple trailers, I am now looking forward to Dumb and Dumber To. I was skeptical when it was announced, but it looks like it could be nearly as stupidly funny as the original.
  17. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 25, 2014 -> 03:55 PM) According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are reportedly in a “power struggle” with WWE CFO George Barrios and Chief Revenue & Marketing Officer Michelle Wilson. The topic is a hot one in terms of conversation backstage. Barrios and Wilson were the two key executives in charge of the WWE Network launch and securing the company’s new television deal. As we know by now, neither of them were close to as successful as the company hoped for. Mixed Tag Match for control of the company at Survivor Series!!!! Vince in HHH/Steph's corner and Linda in George/Michelle's corner!!!! Run-In by Shane......"BUT WHOSE SIDE IS HE ON????"
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 1, 2014 -> 10:11 AM) I'm in the middle on this... He was terrible, and doesn't deserve any reaction next week. He played here four years, and was a huge contributor to this team being terrible. No video. No standing O. No booing. No nothing. Just a guy on a different team. That's where I stand. Four disappointing seasons do not merit a reaction.
  19. Well, I played yesterday and I'm still alive! My team won one and lost one. The funny thing is, the way the bracket played out, if we had won the second game we'd have had a bye to the title game. I got a couple hits, including a triple(!??!?!?!) - I was BEGGING for the stop sign when I got to second, LOL. My running was a struggle because of my bum right knee, but my defense at 3B was pretty solid. I threw better than I expected to. All told, it was a fun day, and my team is going to get into another tournament or two this year, so I'm excited to be sort of back.
  20. So I had a practice last Tuesday for this tournament I'm playing in, and what I've learned is my knee hates me. The first time I went to my left for a grounder between 3B and SS, my knee kind of gave out and it hasn't been right since. Of course, I kept playing and finished the practice, because I'm a moron. The knee feels a little better every day, but I can't bend it fully, so that's inconvenient. I still plan on playing. I'm just going to slap a compression sleeve on it and go from there. I have another practice next Tuesday, so we'll see how it goes. My hitting was good, although not much power (which I'm also blaming on my knee, since it's my plant leg when I swing). Bottom line.....it sucks getting old.
  21. Well, he was the "Bad Guy", after all. Talk about living the gimmick!!! All kidding aside, what a dick move. How long does it take to sign a 9-letter name, there, Scott?
  22. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 02:15 PM) I am subbing in a pretty serious 16" league tonight for a double header. I have never played other than in gym class in high school which was a joke. I was a varsity high school baseball player so I am not worried about keeping up but is there any little nuances or rule differences that a beginner would miss? And as far as the swing, does your swing vary from the traditional baseball swing? Thanks in advance!! So how did it go?
  23. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 17, 2014 -> 09:52 PM) Tna has been legitimately awesome tonight I've read good things about the entire run of NY tapings. Not going to post any spoilers, but a lot of fun stuff happened.
  24. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 02:20 PM) I have never played league 16", so I don't know if rules are different. I played league and tournament 12" and 16" and we never had a second EH. Again, I've been gone for 7 or 8 years, so I'm not up on any recent changes, and this sounds like it could be a recent change. If there was a second EH I may have stayed around a while longer, LOL. (although I hated EHing, I never felt like I was in the game when I EH'd.)
  25. The 2nd EH is news to me. I have been out of the game for a while, though.
