QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 05:55 PM) You would think that mouse traps would be one of the first things a mouses parents would teach them about when theyre young. Like how we have DARE. For decades those things have doomed their existence and they just cant seem to figure it out. Yeah, it could be called: Teach Rodents About Perils

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 02:10 PM) I don't know about individual stories, but on this board, everyone pretty much knows he's a disaster and hates him. Yeah, the [ass]hole is greater than the sum of his parts. -

Lasantha Wickrematunge was his name. What a ballsy thing to write when he knew damn well what was going to happen to him.

So now Rourke isn't going to appear at WrestleMania after all? http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe/582.html Doesn't bother me at all - those celebrity matches are never good. -
QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 06:46 PM) Don't forget the Chia Obama That seems like a Benjamin Button thing. It starts with the close-cropped Presidential hair and as it grows, it takes you back in time to his high school Frobama. That's right, I'm coining it! 'FROBAMATM

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 27, 2009 -> 12:31 PM) The Ducks are shopping Chris Pronger and Rob Niedermeyer. The Blues are shopping Keith Tkachuk. I don't think Tkachuk would cost much, but I do think he'd be a good fit for this team's needs. I'd like to see Tkachuk in a Hawks jersey for sure, but he makes $4.5 million. Would the Hawks be hit with the whole amount on the cap, or would the hit be pro-rated? Would that even matter? How much cap room do they have right now? -
Heard on the Score that the Cubs haven't talked to SD about Peavy since the winter meetings. That doesn't mean nothing will happen, but it does seem that they've traded most of their "desirable trading chip" players away.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 12:00 PM) Pie is in Baltimore. The guy he was traded for, Garett Olsen, was traded to Seattle. Hence pie(Olsen)+ Cedeno = Heilman DAMMIT, I knew I didn't check Bleeding Cubbie Blue often enough.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 12:01 PM) I took my son to Toys R Us a few hours ago. I'm bout to go get him now... There's other kids to play with in there, he'll be totally fine. They even have snacks by the registers in case he gets hungry.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 07:15 AM) I hate people who are too lazy to wipe off the snow off their back window. Seriously, it will take you no more than 5 seconds to just dust off! God forbid, you can see out your back window when you drive on the highway, thats what they make them for!!! My favorites are the people who chisel out a 2-foot by 2-foot square on their windshield to peer out of and leave the rest of ALL their windows caked in snow and ice. Completely safe, completely legal.

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 11:11 AM) I'll remember to never give you a lift anywhere. Come pick me up from work, drop me off at home, then drive back to Palm Desert. I get out of here in 50 minutes. ...oops, where are my manners? I almost forgot....PLEASE come pick me up, etc etc....

QUOTE (scenario @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 11:47 AM) Pie + Cedeno = Heilman??? Wow. Good thing Hendry waited til after the Cubs convention to pull this off. Talk about selling low. I don't think there would have been much outrage from Cubs fans about Pie and Cedeno leaving town, no matter what the return. Pie was a late-inning glove with almost no bat, and Cedeno is a relatively inconsistent bench player. The return from the Mariners seems accurate to me. A 5th starter/middle reliever is a decent return based on where Pie and Cedeno are right now production-wise. If Pie finds his swing somehow in Seattle, then obviously it would swing the trade in the Mariners' favor. He's still very young, so the M's have time to work with him.

A couple of interesting tidbits: Vince told Orton to "bring it" with his boot to the head to make the angle more legit: http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/wwe/551.html and a recap of Mickey Rourke and Chris Jericho on Dead Buzzard Live: http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/561.html Also, I just read that "Gov. Palin" is actually Daffney from the dying days of wCw. I would never have recognized her as Gov. Palin. -
QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 09:14 AM) Huh...now I am in the mood for Spam. Might have to buy some one of these nights. I do actually enjoy Spam quite a bit. "Can I have Spam instead of the baked beans, then?" When I was a kid, the fried Spam sandwiches were the s***. We did the fried bologna as well, but sometimes a nice hunk of fried Spam on white bread with a slice of tomato would really hit the spot. [cue banjo music]

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 02:52 AM) I hate this and I believe it's one of the biggest, most fundamental differences between men and women. Women never, ever, ever adjust the EQ on their car stereos and never let you to do it for them either. So you're stuck in the car listening to a flat shrill with absolutely no bass to it. Every man, on the other hand, is an amateur sound engineer when he's in his car. We adjust everything from song to song, sometimes even within the same song. The irony? Both of these are immensely annoying.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 26, 2009 -> 03:00 PM) Anything with Obama on it is a hot seller right now and that is what rules the day, ESPECIALLY in a bad economy. He's a one-man economic stimulus plan! Saving the USA, one dinner plate, commemorative coin and basketball card at a time!

QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jan 27, 2009 -> 04:34 PM) that would be fairly bogus. the guy isn't insane, he's just a corrupt politician. i've seen his media interviews and he's just as smooth a talker as ever. i wouldn't even be surprised if people in Illinois vote him into some elected office again. he has all the democrat lingo down to a perfected science. When the Senate whacks him, they can also pass a decree banning Blago from any political office in Illinois ever again. I believe they will do that, and that may be part of Blago's plan here - get his name out there nationally and see if some other state falls for it the way Illinois did. -
I pay by check at the grocery store. I put ketchup on hot dogs (often only ketchup). I put ice in my beer if it's not cold enough for me. I root for the Packers and Red Wings. I have my cell phone off 90% of the time.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 27, 2009 -> 09:46 AM) Fair or not, perception is reality. And the perception is that as soon as they get some "free money" they run out and buy toys they don't need. It makes it look like they haven't changed a damn thing.
