3rd annual Soxtalk softball game thread
The Critic replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (shipps @ Feb 17, 2009 -> 08:54 AM) Dude you should come just to watch me run,now thats comedy Mr. Funnypants. If that's the case, we should just have a foot race and narrow the Funniest Poster 2009 competition down to a field of two right then and there! I used to be fast, now my "S" is too big and the F-A-T have taken over. -

All indications are that HHH will jump to Raw. Vickie is on Raw right now, my eyes and ears hurt. -

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Feb 16, 2009 -> 04:38 PM) You don't have to play, you could still come, you know. That's true, I suppose. I do have a hard time watching softball, though - I don't even go to my old team's games. I always want to play, and I simply can't anymore because of my back. It really sucks. I used to play 6 nights a week when I was young and now it's over. Getting old sucks - I don't recommend it. -

Still fat + back still f***ed up + 1 year older = I'm out. -
I'm currently reading Bret Hart's autobio, Hitman. I would NEVER have guessed that Hart had any sort of sense of humor at all, but the book is a really great read. Often very funny, other times self-depricating, and some thoughtful stuff in there as well. This is not the side of himself that Hart let the public see, and that's too bad.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Feb 12, 2009 -> 11:09 AM) Yea, most of the games I was able to get, are Monday Nighters. Why Pay More?TM

Selig is a hard-core muller. He is badass when he mulls. It's when he acts that he looks like an imbecile. But MULLING?....no one better.

I grabbed 3 for the 1/2 price Monday against the A's. I'll get uppers from the Kids Club for whatever day their on-field parade is, and that's going to be it for me unless friends or family come up with freebies/cheapies.

I'm not sure about a password, but I wonder how many at-bats THOME will get this year?

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Feb 12, 2009 -> 07:39 AM) Going to my first Blackhawks game tomorrow. Have a great time, and fly the colors proudly....unless they're Blues colors, that is... Do they still play in what used to be called the Savvis Center? I had a fun time there a few years back - that's not a bad place to see a game at all! -

TNA released Scott Steiner's Mini-Me, Petey Williams, and finally found the proper medicine to get rid of their Rock & Rave Infection. (meaning Lance "Rock" Hoyt & Jimmy Rave were also released). Stevie Richards has signed with TNA. Hopefully he can find a way to get over. -
QUOTE (shipps @ Feb 11, 2009 -> 04:53 PM) I would have thought someone fixed the votes if I would have won the funniest poster but I would have been proud to win the drinking buddy award. that motherf***in heads and his alcoholism gets me everytime. When it comes to the drinky, heads comes ready to fight! Thanks to everyone who voted for me - I'll try to stay hilarious for you in 2009!

Khabibulin looked great, the rest of the team looked pretty s***ty, especially in the 3rd period. Couldn't win a faceoff to save their lives. They definitely owe Khabibulin some free drinks tonight. -
QUOTE (shipps @ Feb 11, 2009 -> 02:55 PM) Other then a League MVP for a Boy Scout softball league when I was 12 I have never won anything in my life. And so it continues... I heard there might be participation trophies, orange slices and juice boxes. So everyone's a winner!!!

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 11, 2009 -> 10:09 AM) When Christian left, he left because of the direction, or lack there of, the E had for him. But he also handled it and left the right way. I don't think he would come back unless there was a plan for him. I'll let it play out but if he is feuding with Chavo in a couple of months, I'll be pissed. He definitely should of been thrown into the Hardy vs. Hardy mix. Only natural. I read somewhere that Vince wasn't too impressed with him before he left for TNA, and that was one of the reasons he left. Maybe those feelings haven't changed, and getting him back was more about weakening TNA than strengthening WWE. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Christian was promised things by the people courting him, and now Vince put the kibosh on whatever he was promised. Vince definitely has the last word, and Christian wouldn't be the first guy to have his storyline plans derailed by Vinny Mac. I'll also wait and see what develops, but there doesn't seem to be a real good reason to slow-play his return. He was a Top 5 guy in TNA right up until the MEM angle started, so placing him on the #3 show smells fishy to me. -
G) Sweatpants - pull up, roll out!

The fog was pretty thick on my drive to the train this morning. I could only see about a block ahead of the car.

QUOTE (Greenman @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 10:19 PM) Uh, so Christian debuted tonight on ECW How lame Well, he couldn't take valuable airtime away from the McMahon Clan on Raw or Vickie Guerrero on SmackDown... If not for the better paychecks he'd probably be very sorry already that he jumped ship. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 7, 2009 -> 02:39 PM) I'd just like to state that I post for the art form of posting, not to win awards. You guys are clearly in this business with the wrong motives and intentions. Spoken like a man FAR BEHIND in the voting....

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 08:47 PM) I'm sure he would be recognized for his entire body of work. It would be a comedy moment if they only recognized him for chainsaw charlie. Yeah, obviously they would downplay that mistake, and they should. I was just trying to say that the overwhelming majority of Funk's best work happened in the NWA, wCw and ECW, as well as Japan. He was never utilized correctly in the WWF/E. oh, and nice save of the Undertaker by SuperShane last night. Ugh. -

If there was a general Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame, then absolutely YES, Terry Funk deserves to get in. I don't feel he did much of his better work in WWE, but that falls more on "creative"'s shoulders than Terry's. "Chainsaw Charlie"? REALLY, Vince? Terry Funk was a 33-year veteran at that point but wasn't worthy to debut using his own name? However, since the WWE Hall of Fame seems to be the one most recognized, then yeah, Terry belongs in it.
