  1. Deal has passed. Get fucked lindor and scherzer... literally fighting for their owner in a labor negotiation. Disgusting
  2. My wonder is can you pressure someone to drop a lawsuit by upholding and tying a labor agreement to it. Wonder what the lawyers or judges think on that one.
  3. I think this passes. Executive committee is disproportionately made up of higher earners or end of career guys.... and somehow Jason Castro.
  4. The majority of teams aren't made up of guys like Cole, scherzer and lindor. This shit should still get done. Guys in the middle and the bottom need the checks and will take the wins they've gotten so far.
  5. Mlb was never going to do that. If the demand to pass the cba was the owners opening their books you might as well cancel the season now.
  6. Lol the subcommittee is scherzer and lindor. They're out their protecting Steve Cohen wallet. Honestly fucking amazing. All 8 are voting no? Lol. Gerrit Cole also on the sub committee.
  7. You're literally quoting what Samson claims about boras involvement when the only person more full of shit than Samson is likely his father.
  8. Leave it to the top earners who have been fucking the middle guys for a decade plus to try and derail this.
  9. That sounds like a cheap ass owner problem.
  10. I would like amateurs to be paid more. I wouldn't like the removal of a draft. Remove the limits on slot spending if you want.
  11. So only the top prospects are worthy of what you perceive to be an unfair and unjust system. Weird take.
  12. You're not going to sign with the pirates, that's for sure.
  13. No one convinced me to be a fan of the local team. It's called logistics and exposure Jack. I can't drive to Anaheim to watch trout after work. Local things are more relatable. Also, how are nfl and nba like that? Those leagues have drafts.
  14. Who chooses their first job? I was out there begging someone to hire me.
  15. No. Which is why they've always thrown minor leaguers under the bus... but for foreign amateurs in an exploitative system they were hyper protective.
  16. Kind of amazing how willingly the MLBPA has given away the rights and earnings of American amateur players yet drew a weird hard line stance for foreign amateurs. I don't think they should give away $'s and etc for American amateurs but it is definitely weird. Edit: they were literally willing to harm members salaries with the QO for amateur foreign players not succumbing to a draft.
  17. Players that had the pandemic year and this year are really going to have to give up a measurable percentage of their career earnings. The mid-level and lower salaried players have to be near their wits end.
  18. ... but players didn't strike before the playoffs... and owners did lock them out. I don't understand your point.
  19. Not speaking for other sports, but because Americans aren't both learning to play baseball at a higher level while assimilating into an entirely different culture and language?
  20. Amazing thing about this is that the problem with baseball is too many teams just dont try to win and mid level players suffer from this. The cbt likely will just push upper end salaries higher while the middle continues to be neglected because competition has not been prioritized.
  21. 1makes sense to me, if the draft is the only hold up.
  22. Well, the players refusing to negotiate within a system because of illegal kickbacks going away seems rather implausible.
