  1. Lay out your top 6 bullpens for 2022 now, before the season starts. I'll lay out my top 6 offenses and top 6 starting rotations. I'd be willing to bet that I get more from both groups than you get from yours.
  2. Best lefty bat on the market and a top of the rotation arm. I'd take it as a Sox fan. Obviously I'd rather have the White Sox whole roster though. Mariners pitching depth is just... real real bad.
  3. This guy is an "independent reporter." I think this has been pretty transparent for quite some time so not all that surprising. Micker mania, boys! Micker is my guy so I wouldn't even be all that mad.
  4. I'm not sure how the Sox could make a huge move at the deadline unless a couple players in their system take huge steps forward. That's a gamble in its own sense. I also think it's a bit of homer shaded glasses to say they have the best roster in the AL. They have the 4th most projected WAR in the league right now and by a couple outlets the 5th best projected record and they're in the weakest division. It doesn't mean they can't be the best team in the AL, but it does mean their on-paper roster isn't the best in the eyes of a lot of projection systems and models, so it'll take more "if's" for them to reach that ceiling compared to others.
  5. The most Rockies thing I've ever seen. That extension is flat out hilarious.
  6. I think it's actually more frustrating that they spent 47 million dollars and arguably got worse. Sitting on their hands would at least allow me to blame a tight budget and Jerry only; at this point it's as much on Hahn as it is on Jerry.
  7. 5 million dollars isn't changing you from building a "really good team" and a bad one. As we saw, 5 million dollars to the White Sox means Josh Harrison. I'd rather the Sox have less small money deals available to them; would probably make the roster better in general lol.
  8. So you see the Sox releasing a lot of 15 million dollar players but not 20? If you are trying to get a "good deal" in marquee free agency then you're not getting any deal. It's really that simple.
  9. You and Jerry gonna go out to some nice dinners when he saves that 5 million you won't budge on? I never understood why fans care if a FA is perceived to be overpaid. Conforto will be more entertaining to watch and better for the roster than what they have now. The 5 million isn't going to show up in your mailbox via an invoice stamped with past due. What do you care? and for those who say "well it might hurt the budget or their chance of signing a big free agent down the line." How about we get that first ever big free agent signing out the way before we start worrying about future ones.
  10. I hope I'm eating a lot of crow within the next few days, but hard not to agree with pretty much everything bmags said in the past couple pages.
  11. I couldn't handle two dogs; just Crede.
  12. It wasn't quite a bobby knight tantrum but maybe a little bobby valentine! Finally a decent weekend day; felt like we were getting screwed with only the nice days during the week. Been awhile since we got over to the dogpark; pup refused to leave for like 1 hour. Excited for some baseball to start counting and for this terrible offseason just to wrap itself up so all the nonsense can stop and reality can be except... and for hopefully nice spring/summer weather. Hope you're doing well, pal!
  13. "Dude go fuck yourself. Seriously. Keep my name out of your mouth." If you think I'm catching feelings there's nothing I can do to help you.
  14. Nothing I said about James in my initial post that led to his outburst was out of line; i literally mentioned him in passing as an example because he was the most recent example. The post and details were partly a joke on how the front office operates. He threw a tantrum about it, end of story. Beautiful day out, will go enjoy it as it seems sensitivity on soxtalk is at an all time high.
  15. The irony of this is you liked the post that literally set jimmy off on the "go fuck yourself" tantrum and now somehow I'm disgruntled for asking why he overreacted. Jack, you crack me up.
  16. I'll note that a part of the amazing privilege of having speculatory contract offerings leaked on soxtalk is that no one can question your overall point or call into question the purpose of that information reaching you. I'm sorry it was so hard for you to read someone on a forum disagree with you or question the purpose of the information. I hope you can recover from that hardship. Edit: looks like you got the overwhelming attention you were seeking with this post so I hope that makes up for your pain and suffering.
  17. Being used as a mouth piece does not mean what you are implying at all. It means you're being used to push a narrative (knowingly or not.) Most everyone who leaks baseball free agent rumors are by definition being used as a mouthpiece for something or someone. Don't like it? Then don't leak supposed contract offers during free agency.
  18. When have I ever told anyone what to post, or attacked them for it? I get it, the old boys club gets offended at sox talk when any "insider" is questioned. I can say something is BS if I chose to. The concept of insider in professional sports has always made me laugh honestly. Break one story in 10 years and then speculate on 1000 that never come true and somehow that authority should never be questioned, and certainly shouldn't be disagreed with at soxtalk. Otherwise everyone gets very defensive. I have my opinions same as you. Difference between me and you is I won't run to gang up on people because they disagree with me. I couldn't care less who posts what. I have my thoughts and opinions and I'm not here to beg someone to sprinkle some very pointless speculation for me to consume. I look at what's happened, not the fake what could have happened stories. Unlike you I don't delete posts that disagree with me or deem rude, and I don't threaten posters to post how I want or else.
  19. If the guy is asking for 6/150 and you offer 4/76 then hear no and apparently decide to go in a different direction and sign a bunch of utility guys and relievers instead thats not only not a fair offer, but its not a serious one.
  20. What do you consider seriously pursued? Sox haven't been legit linked to conforto, so would you say they didn't seriously pursue him if they lose out on him? Most of your point is pretty subjective imo.
  21. Again, I never said the information wasn't true. Never said you didn't vet information. It's literally impossible for you to know the reason for why said contract you posted was leaked to anyone in order for it to make its way to you. I have my opinions as to why these values have been leaked and made their way to journalists with some White Sox affiliation (however direct or indrect), and you have your opinions. Neither of us can speak authoritatively as to the purpose of that contract making it's way to someone like you, but we can both speculate and agree to disagree as to that purpose. Based on the way most off-seasons have gone over the past 4 years, I like to think the outcomes tend to agree with what I believe but most people look for confirmation bias to support their opinions so who knows how right or wrong those thoughts are.
  22. The reason hitting in Colorado is easier actually has to do with their being so much more square footage in the outfield. The ball carrying further can often be negated by the far fences, but there's so much more real estate to drop the ball in which leads to higher BABIPs, averages and more doubles, singles and triples. The difficulty for playing in COlorado as your home park is that balls break differently there (less). You are practicing and playing half your games there so your eyes and body get more used to that break. This means when you travel, the movement on pitches becomes more difficult to adjust to which is why you see even more stark home/road splits. As players move out of Colorado permantly they adjust again to the break and movement of the pitches which is why they may be better hitters in Colorado but it's not as signficant as you'll see by viewing their Home/Road splits when they're in Colorado.
  23. And to clarify, I simply named James because he leaked the most recent offer yesterday and insinuated it was a competitive offer; I joked at the time that the White Sox off-season cycle is now complete as soon as Conforto goes somewhere else. Given that Conforto turned down 110 million or whatever it was 16 months ago, obviously the White Sox reported opening offer wasn't competitive regardless of how much someone may thought Conforto hurt his value last year.
  24. 1. Who/when did I say that was your intent? 2. How could you possibly be certain about a White Sox offer if the information didn't initially leak from within the White Sox somehow? Even if it came down to you through another source, that would actually justify what I laid out even more. 3. Everyone who signs late in an off-season isn't "asking for too much money." Either way, no idea why you got so offended in the first place.
  25. Woh... Sorry that you can't see through the process. Really no need to start swearing at people and get angry pal. Hilarious how offended you get for pointing out that a supposed non-competitive offer made months ago didn't signify a serious push by the Sox, and that it was not in fact Conforto's fault that he was asking for "too much money" as you have been pushing for the past week. Release your thoughts and your position and expect people to give there thoughts. Difference is I won't stoop so low as to start swearing and getting angry at you for your opinions or thoughts.
