over/under which inning before you throw a temper tantrum and call the game over and refuse to watch? 2nd? 3rd?

ALDS Game 2 - Chicago @ Houston - 1:07pm CDT
to be fair, the conversation ended a page ago and i stopped responding when i said i would and it's now just random people like you bumping it forward that aren't allowing it to die. i dont disagree this thread should be about the game, so keep it on topic going forward. let's bash TLR instead.

There's pretty much nothing Leury can do to change my mind that he's trash, but he's slightly less trash than Cesar at this point so I have no issues with him playing. The issue is more with the front office putting us in a position where he is forced to play in a playoff game.

To be fair, at least it started about Kimbrel ha. But agreed, onto the game.

Please, explain to us how the PR arm of the organization said it. That must be true! I never have claimed to have insider access on this board, because who gives a shit and because I don't? But if you want to be some guy spreading baseball ownership PR pieces I'm going to correct you based on information I actually DO have. Kris Bryant hates the Cubs leadership and organization with a passion. The Cubs leaked rumors about trading him for over a year; he hated it. He would ask if they were true and be told nothing to worry about Kris. The Cubs didn't give a shit about Kris Bryant. Please stop spreading propagandist bullshit. Now onto the game today. That's all I've got to say about this topic. Go Sox.

But... but... the organizational mouth pieces like the beat writers whose access relies on ownership and leadership, and the national writers who leak CBA negotiation stories for ownership groups, said the Cubs were super duper nice and really just wanted their guys to be super happy. They underpaid Bryant to teach him a valuable lesson about life. They were doing what was best for Kris!

You can get as condescending and nonsensical as you want, your post was flat out clueless. The Cubs didn't give a shit about the players they traded; they didn't give a shit about making Kris Bryant happy. They absolutely didn't take a lesser offer to send him where he wanted to play. It's amazing you buy these stories that are literally produced by an organization as fluff. Bryant hates the Cubs leadership. There is no love lost there at all.

Insider information? I don't need insider information to know the Cubs royally screwed Bryant out of more money than anyone we know will see in their lifetime. Beat writers and national writers are PR pieces for organization. It's amazing you have not figured that out by now. The Cubs have been bad mouthed by all three guys after they left. And I can tell you that the only organization in baseball I actually do KNOW people, is the Giants. And I can tell you that there was no love lost there. It's amazing that you think the Cubs would take a lesser package to send a guy somewhere he wanted, when they were breaking it down to rebuild. I don't know anything that goes on in front offices, the Cubs told you everything you needed to know with the service time exploitation of Bryant and the bad blood between him and the front office. You citing a little PR arm of an organization as factual evidence is exhausting.

It's amazing how much PR nonsense you gobble up. The Cubs literally screwed Bryant out of millions of dollars, and you think the Cubs would take a LESSER package to send them somewhere they wanted for a half year. Truly amazing stuff. You are the baseball PR machines wet dream.

I honestly can't believe anyone believes that the Cubs sent players to places for a lesser of a return out of the kindness of their hearts. If the Sox offered the most for Bryant, he would be here. The Cubs literally fucked Bryant out of millions of dollars for the sake of the franchise but people think they would harm the franchise to trade him where he wanted. Amazing.

Harold, you still out here claiming Kimbrel should be closing and not Hendriks? I admire your stubbornness.

The entire difference this year is driven by his walk rate left handed vs right handed. He slugged better and hit for a higher average right handed. And given that his career OPS is nearly 50 points higher right handed over a much more substantial sample size, I think it's safe to say Leury Garcia is a better hitter right handed than left handed.

Gotta love our two trade deadline acquisitions were lauded as not half year rentals and turns out both likely will be, but we paid for a second year (cost more) that we won't use. Good times.

Leury is much better right handed than left, so if anything id think cesar made more sense yesterday than today.

Kris Bryant would look pretty nice in the lineup. Its ok though, we got kimbrel instead. Should be super helpful with all those IP's!

Somehow 7 of the 9 members on my team are on DTO tomorrow, but I'm not. That said, with 7 of 9 members on DTO, I'm going to be taking a half day in which the second half of my day my computer is on but if no one reaches out to me, I won't be finding other work to do.

Unless his sequencing issues were him trying to throw balls and fall behind I'm not sure it means much.

ALDS Game 1- White Sox/Astros, 3:07 GAME THREAD
No, there is not. I'm not going to spend a lot of time on this. All I'm going to tell you is you are not understanding prices and the cost of a run, and the cost against the % of games/wins decided by one run and not. There is no added value in betting a run line for teams that are favored. That is not a profitable angle. It is not some bet that are priced wrong and books are losing on over the entire sample. In some cases, in fact, books place 20 cent lines on run lines and 10 cent lines on ML, at which point RL's actually charge more juice/vig and have a significantly lesser ROI (require you to hit a higher % to be profitable when compared to the ML). In cases where they're both 10 cent lines, the cost of the run is (at times) inflated slightly over the 40-50 cents the run is worth. Meaning if a run is worth 45 cents (I can convert to % if that's easier), then the spread is around 30-35 cents meaning you're giving an additional 10 cents buying that extra run in addition to the 10 cents you're paying already with a -110 line. Even if the line is -180, they're still 10 cent lines which is why you see +160 on the other side.

What in the world. When you bet on a boxer to "just win" and he's -130 the pay out is the same. Are you sure you bet at all?

ALDS Game 1- White Sox/Astros, 3:07 GAME THREAD
Man, I always have to laugh at the betting advice on this site. You don't "save" vig better on the run lines. There is still vig in a run line. + money does not mean no vig.

Well no, they won the same amount as anyone who bets on a team and there team wins. They didn't get like bonus money.
