  1. I don't blame fans for not realizing when they have a bat like 25, we haven't had many in our existence. The kid is going to be damn near unstoppable. I still think we talk about a hell of a hot run to bring him way up into the ROY conversation this year. The kids just gets hitting and understands the proper approach in a way most never will.
  2. Where's Joeycora to tell me that the Sox have zero shot of winning 1 of the next 2 since they will not win a series until June.
  3. Guy throws a change up and the hitters think the guy is cheating it's so nasty.
  4. @wegner don't want to mush it, but I sent Crede to the old man and my buddies group chat 30 seconds before the vaughn home run. Gave up faith in Soxtalk and didn't post.
  5. There will never be someone who does more with an average of less than 24 in those big spots. Kopech mania; that should honestly be illegal.
  6. Just in case our guy Joey cora calls me on receipts
  7. I agree lol. I have a signed game worn JC jersey (has a comiskey park patch) that was given to me at the White Sox midwest Showcase when I thought I was gonna be a big leaguer my senior year summer. Was still the most exciting moment of my baseball career meeting Joe and he was so damn cool and not a dick about it. My boy who went to FSU sold me out at the White Sox hosting of the midwest showcase and Joe went into his car and gave me a game worn jersey he wore signed by him that I have hanging in my office in a frame to this day.
  8. You god damn right. This is a generational bat. That load, that approach, that swing... that's shit you can't teach. When he gets that lift down consistently we're talking about a 50 double 35 homer, frank thomas type bat. The Frank, i don't swing for the fences I just hit liners out type of bomb machine. HOSE him YAZ!
  9. When doesn't he?!?!?! Guy just knows what a moment means. Struggle bunny for a couple games then when the moment gets big he goes smack.
  10. 7 didn't let me down either! 7 and 25 for the damn win boys!
  11. Was out to dinner with my wife and sister and came home just in time for the homer. Told my wife we almost named the dog AV but it wasn't quite as great as crede. Av goes yard right after. 7 is just too common otherwise my guy 7 would have been a nomination.
  12. I've been watching every swing since the debut. I'm not a results guy. This guy is a goddam monster. He sees the ball and rakes like a complete stud. Timing and swing plane is monster town. Love me some AV!
  13. Tell me vaughn ain't ready! Tell me he's not good enough. That's my fucking dude!
  14. I just want everyone to know, 7 is going yak ball tonight.
  15. But is this really the "longer haul?" There's so much noise in 1 run games over even an entire year. You'll often see teams that overachieve significantly often times do so because they won a lot of 1 run games - the Orioles a few years back are one great example. Were the Orioles actually good at that, or were they just the beneficiary of the randomness that is 1 run games; after all, as with any curve with 30 teams you're bound to have some who outperform and under perform quite a bit.
  16. I understand, but winning 1 run games really isn't a "skill" imo. I tend to think you'll play to your overall win% in 1 run games over a large enough sample. Maybe an elite closer or bullpen helps a little, and not having bozo the clown as manager but I dont think a team who leads baseball in blowouts will for some reason struggle in close games.
  17. Still waiting on your receipts regarding me claiming to have insider knowledge of padres financials. Guess proof only matters for other posters. Rick has had some struggles, but he'd find a job very quickly if he quit this one.
  18. Blow outs are really good, just as an fyi.
  19. ? Wow, guy is pounding his chest about the Sox not being "that good" because they got swept in a series. White Sox were 2-2 vs the East (before this series), 6-4 vs the West, and 17-9 vs the Central. They lead the AL in run differential despite having been banged up much of the year. They're 4th in the AL in runs scored and 1st in the AL in runs against. But yes, you are so right about the Sox just not being "that good" because they lost one series to a team who came in on fire (6 in a row now and 8 of 10), with their starters just in a grove. The teams you've been raving about (Indians and Twins) as being big time competition and dangerous have played the same amount of AL Central foes (Cleveland) and have a run differential of -2. The Yankees - who you are citing as some god compared to the Sox have played two more games than the White Sox and have scored 38 fewer runs while giving up two more. It took a 10 game (Rays) and a 6 game (Yankees) winning streak during the White Sox little spudder for you to come in pounding your chest about how right you were all along; when you never questioned the offense and your concern was almost entirely tied to the pitching which has been absolutely lights out all year. Spare me your little rant about how people should argue and your absurd name calling. You haven't been "right" about the White Sox and this series didn't prove you anymore right. To think you're the same guy who one week ago was saying people shouldn't be bumping posts 1/4 into the season as gotcha moments, but here you are after the Sox one lone series sweep pounding your chest pretending you got and told everyone. GTFOH.
  20. You look right because the sox had one bad series? Ok guy. Whatever makes you feel better.
  21. Clearly you have forgotten, as I have never claimed to have inside knowledge of any sorts on this forum, and certainly not of the Padres financials. About as accurate with this assessment as you are your one of Andrew Vaughn.
  22. No idea what this means; you got me confused with someone else there champ. I never pretended to have "insider access" to any financials and outside of calling the Padres cheap before the binge I've never even commented on their financials.
