White Sox Winner!!!
For the 1000th time before I leave this thread, I am talking about his approach at the plate. I'm not sure what is so hard for you to grasp about this but it's clearly causing issues. Have a good one.

White Sox Winner!!!
Since 2019, Bieber has been better vs lefties than Righties. Tony putting Nick Williams 5th in the order and Jake Lamb at DH is one of the funniest things I've seen this year.

White Sox Winner!!!
You can misrepresent last year however you want, but it's not the slam dunk you're making it out to be. The Astros have argued they don't even want minor league games and seasons because there's more value in one on one coaching and sessions with your top prospects. Last year Vaughn was facing big league and AAAA talent much of his "year". We didn't get to see him, but the Sox did. So saying he's not ready because two years ago you were underwhelmed by post-college season minor league stats just isn't a valid critique imo.

White Sox Winner!!!
Nothing is being used to my advantage. You shouldn't take a small sample and make it smaller. The OBP is being used to show his approach has been solid; it's been repeated to you over and over again. His approach has been good. Good approaches will typically lead to good results in the long run. You keep saying he looks terrible, and the rebuttal to that the entire thread has been his approach has been fine. His results could merely be better. He should play in LF because the Sox don't have a better option. This again isn't complicated.

White Sox Winner!!!
So the White Sox couldn't have possibly not given all their cheap owners available money to a position that wasn't a team strength? Like they couldn't have signed Nelson Cruz instead of Liam Hendriks? I'm pretty sure they could have. I know you want to blame Jerry for everything, but the Sox 100% could have executed the off-season better with the funds they had available to them.

Nick Williams is far from a seasoned MLB LF'er him self is the issue.

White Sox Winner!!!
What is this based on? Nick Williams LF range is well below average vs league average for his career. Advanced metrics are volatile in the OF for defense, so I don't want to cite anything as too telling, but you have no evidence of this at all.

White Sox Winner!!!
No, his approach has been solid despite his contact not being great. That's the point of citing his OBP. I want Vaughn to play in LF so he has nothing to do with Mercedes. Nick Williams is not a good LF'er.

White Sox Winner!!!
I mean, in general his sample is minuscule to begin with. Taking the already small sample and breaking it down to an 8 AB sample instead of 14 is just laughably pointless. Can't really analyze R/L splits when he's looking at less than 4 full games of AB's. He's having good AB's, seeing a lot of pitches and getting on base. He hasn't hit the ball all that hard yet, but again it's been like 4 games. Someone's approach is much more indicative of their readiness, IMO, than their numbers in their young career.

White Sox Winner!!!
Getting on base 40% of the time is stupid and doesn't justify playing? Well that's quite the take.

Someone let Chitown and Tony know the Sox won. I'm sure they're in their garage crafting a new coffee table!

not a bad win when you start the worst pitcher in baseball, and 90% of your lineup wouldn't be claimed off waivers for free!

Grandal catches the ball and the umpire just pretends he doesn't. Is this a joke? What is the point of MLB replay.

The Sox lead major league baseball in walk rate. No idea how they're a feast or famine offense. Javy Baez has a career walk rate that is one of the lowest in baseball history 4.7% while also striking out nearly 29% of the time. Luis Robert has a walk rate near 10% this year and 9% on his young career despite periods of struggling. He also has reduced his k rate already (BB/K numbers become predictable pretty quickly by 6% vs last year. Your entire post is complete nonsense.

Grandal has a 400 OBP and a 128 wRC+ as a catcher. I didn't know you got into improv comedy in your spare time Caufield.

it makes no sense. guys mlb career literally took off when he STOPPED throwing it. it can't just be him who wants to throw it. it has to be a part of his plan for this year. take the best sinker ball in baseball by a mile and throw it less. brilliant! sinker is a feel pitch too so that's been effected by the less usage imo. When Britton's sinker was as dominant as a sinker has been he threw it 94-95%. You don't mess around with garbage off speed when you're throwing a bowling ball up to the plate at 97 mph.

Bummer dominates baseball in 2019 and 2020 throwing 93% fastballs and 6ish % sliders. In 2017-2018 he wasn't nearly as good and threw his slider 18% of the time and way less sinkers and fastballs. In 2021 he has decided to go back to throwing 18% sliders and he has struggled. It's honestly baffling. Who the ffff told him to go back to throwing this many sliders? It's not good for him. Throw your sinker and dominate games you moron.

he was throwing his sinker well but screwed it all up when he went to his slider over and over.

yeah, but they're not as much free swingers this year. lots of walks. nice to see bummer sinker moving 38 feet downward again.
