  1. If he tore his UCL, there's no chance - given his age and control left - they wouldn't send him to TJ if that was the best decision to make. Obviously, it's up to him at the end of the day but I would take the lack of news pertaining to Crochet as very good news. I said it at the time, but it looks like the White Sox may have just saved the kids are preemptively and caught and injury before it became catastrophic. It sucks, because I think the Sox win the game if Crochet doesn't get hurt, but at least the kid might be ready to go next year.
  2. Uh yeah ESPN, Rick Renteria is going to stick with his best reliever there bud.
  3. Can we all just say this loudly. LUIS ROBERT IS BACK! Good thing they didn't send him down....
  4. They might have just done something we've never seen a team do; catch an injury before it becomes catastrophic. Fingers crossed.
  5. Let's just let the Bumm man finish this whole game off. Guy is the GOAT
  6. Nah, he clearly didn't ask for anyone. I actually think this is a really sharp move by the Sox for the kids future, and not something every team would do. They saw a velo drop and reacted before the injury maybe. Fingers crossed.
  7. Also, why is Bummer coming in so early? What is happening?
  8. great way to manage when you know feelings don't matter as every player just wants to get it done. let's go rick!
  9. I'm not sure what this means; no one is arguing the zone is you standing straight up tall. I was saying relatively upward, in comparison to the crouches Bagwell and RIckey started in as an example... unless I missed someone saying that? The zone is where you are in the hitting position, not where you start but where you are when coming to the ball.
  10. yes, this is the jest of it. not sure what people aren't grasping. you can crouch as low as you want, but everyone is swinging from a near similar position and the zone is only effected by their height; as the rule is written.
  11. he posted the rule, but the zone is as describe when you're swinging - so standing relatively straight up. Even bagwell popped up at contact; impossible to swing thru without lifting up.
  12. There's no difference; crouching is not supposed to change your strike zone.
  13. Jack, you can easily assign front or back of plate zones. You are acting like this is rocket science. It was already implemented before. They weren't calling bouncers strikes. Hahahaha that pitch was never a strike to mazara. Guy, you smoking the good stuff? Ball was 3+ inches off. 3d zone.... jaysus jack Plate is 17 inches deep, how much break do you think a baseball can achieve in 17 inches? You seem to think balls are moving 3-4 inches once they reach the front of the plate and defying physics. The zone will likely mean where the ball cross as the front or middle of the plate.
  14. lol whattttt. You still using a horse to plow them fields there champ? Still handwriting everything instead of using a computer?
  15. Jack all I can tell you is what you're saying is complete nonsense.
  16. This is from fangraphs: That list is a list of top 15 and bottom 15 from a fangraphs community piece by the umpire guys posted on page 1 of this thread. I have heard of every single umpire in the bottom 15, but I can honestly say besides Fairchild, Little and Barret - all who I know as good umpires - I've never heard of the rest of the top 15.
  17. For everyone saying it's a hard job, yeah it is... but there's a reason you only know a few umpires names. Because most are pretty good at their jobs. Not perfect but solid.
  18. great effort, good comeback, umpires fucked them. get 'em tomorrow. you got diekman up two days in a row too, so he's going to have to pitch 3 in a row to go tomorrow.
  19. Yeah, the constant defense of inexcusable mistakes at any level is baffling for Nick. Nick would be called out for this on a travel little league team.
  20. Anderson doesn't go past second if Madrigal barely goes anywhere like he should have. Madrigal is the lead runner, he guides the trail runner there. The trail runner needs to get as close to the lead runner as possible in case the ball is dropped. Anderson was only that far off because Madrigal was a moron and not playing to tag.
  21. Madrigal plays such dumb baseball it is maddening. He's let the lip beat him 4 times this year defensively. He didn't take 3rd on that Anderson play knowing he has to look in even if it's a straight steal - that cost them a run. He didn't take 3rd on the Moncada drive to the wall when he would score if the ball wasn't caught no matter what - that might have cost them a run. He's -3 in this game. It's exhausting. It may just be rookie year pressure, but I've said it before... he's the dumbest "high baseball IQ" player I've ever seen.
