  1. Game plan very clearly seems to be "don't throw fastballs" but this strategy is going sour fast.
  2. Lopez has no command of the fastball but the off speed looks much better. No release point on the fastball.
  3. 1.5 wins over 162 games IF you set the optimal lineup every single day. No manager in baseball is doing that and health/rest alone makes that impossible. This season is 60 games so it wouldn't even be worth a win.
  4. Tony wins the thread; shut it down and start a new one.
  5. I'm not in the clubhouse and certainly not going to critique sitting Moncada. I'm pretty sure Renteria would like to play Moncada over not play him. I'm pretty sure everyone would, but he had Corona and was out for a while and has been back for like 10 days. Every team in baseball is grabbing rest early this season. Again though, lineup construction matters very little. Given how short the lead up was to this season, rest was inevitable early.
  6. I mean an optimal lineup - which literally no manager is setting daily - is worth like 1.5 wins over 162 game season. If you accept that it's worth maybe 8 runs over 162 games, which is a pretty accepted estimate, it's just meaningless to sit here and ridicule a managers choice on lineups. The fact is, a sub-optimal lineup will outperform an optimal one plenty of times throughout the course of the season because the differences are so small in the expected run scoring.
  7. Tyler Clippard has made a career out of being so bad that it's actually good. Evan Marshall has a chance to duplicate it and drive me crazy for years to come. It could be horrifying.
  8. Can we take Marshall out before it's 10-7, cool.
  9. I know, I just hate watching him pitch.
  10. Why does Evan Marshall pitch... ever? I hate this guy no matter how many guys he ever gets out.
  11. James McCann - "A one year... +1 game wonder" McCann Can.
  12. Ned Yost won a World Series. Please stop.
  13. These guys always lie about these extra looks in NY too just in case they make a mistake on something everyone is looking at.
  14. So now Bummer is bad? LOL this place is too much sometimes. Herrera was literally never relied upon to be good this year, that's why they signed guys like Cishek.
  15. cishek was signed to pitch in important innings and spots. he is tough on righties. How the hell was that a bad move? Because it didn't work?
  16. again, it was pretty obvious Keuchel was at the end of his pitch count rope and they were bringing in a reliever. the team signed Cishek to pitch baseballs in games that matter. He gave up a 3 run homer. how the fffff is that Renteria's fault?
