Manny B, Cordell, Goins, & Skole outrighted, 40-man now at 35
My goodness. This is almost as dumb as when Sox fans got enraged that they didnt protect Josh Phegley or that 2nd baseman the dodgers claimed who amounted to nothing - Jake Peter?

Yeah, I saw that. Not smart by nagy but also not an excuse for missing a 41 yarder - the hash marks are way to close together for it to matter.

I just don't see how any team could draft Hansen and put him on the big league club all year. Maybe the Tigers? Youd have to be so bad that his results wouldn't matter

The defense appears to be defeated in a way. The saints game was just a downward spiral for them - their frustrations with their offensive side of the ball seemed to spill over defensively. Not excusing them but I understand it.

This shouldn't be how you evaluate the decision. They could have not kneeled, ran and fumbled. There are a lot of variables to evaluate. The Bears didn't lose because they kneeled down. They lost because their QB can't hit open receivers and turned the ball over twice in a row late. They lost because their QB looks so lost in the red zone.

I mean they just gave up 220 yards of offense. Theyve been pretty great given the weight they're carrying.

This isn't college. I would guess they put the ball on the hash that their kicker preferred.

Lamar Jackson is light years better than Trubisky and he was drafted a year after with the 32nd pick. Mitch is just bad. The excuses need to end. I've always said if you spend your days making excuses for your QB then you're QB isn't very good.

This is just pure nonsense. It's clear the QB doesn't know how to read defenses, audible into the right play and etc. The excuses for Mitch need to stop. Players are significantly more responsible for on the field outcomes than coaches. Mitch has been put into a pass friendly system but his accuracy is terrible. Saying you'd get rid of Nagy and keep Trubisky is hilarious.

Nagy deserves flak for a lot of decisions this year but Bears fans are looking into the kneel down far too much. The difference between make and miss at 36-38 yards and 41 is microscopic - it's probably more likely that a penalty or turnover kills them than the 3-5 yards helps. It's really obvious that Nagy doesn't trust mitch but can you blame him? He's sitting at the podium defending his decision while his QB was turning it over twice late on his side of the field. It's really tough to evaluate a coach with an incompetent QB. Nagy may not be the answer, but it's not because he kneeled down to kick a 41 yarder.

JDM staying in Boston
Nationals weren't trading Robles according to every other source. Regardless I think their return ended up being better than that.

And he had one INT dropped in the endzone. He was atrocious.

Sox interested in Dellin Betances?
How would 1/3 ever be better than 2/30 for a reliever. He's not getting 27 million in year two regardless of how good he is next year.

Sox interested in Dellin Betances?
He's not out for 2020.

A Realistic Offseason
Your lack of understand of basic stastics gets me everytime. Nationals were the 3rd least favored team going into the playoffs. They're now up 2-0 in the WS. Anyone can win once they get there, hence why a Wild Card team can make the World Series.

A Realistic Offseason
I just don't think it can be considered a win for the Nats. The Nats would have been better this year with Giolito in the rotation and a replacement level right fielder. Team outcomes don't really impact the valuation of a trade imo. If they don't have Eaton, and have Giolito, maybe they don't sign corbin and then they can afford Harper. There's a lot of reasons why value is all that matters in trades.

A Realistic Offseason
Eaton has been about as essential as the beer vendor in regards to the nats success.

Speaking of coaching.. I dont know if anyone else saw this yesterday but on MLBnetworks pregame they had Timmy on and Tim must have praised Steverson 5 times in that interview - it almost felt deliberate. Basically said he rebuilt his swing in the offseason with Steversons guidance.

Leadership is directly tied to ones ability to motivate in coaching. You can be a very good leader while being a horrible tactician. (see Dusty Baker as a great MLB example)

I'm not sure how you conclude he's a mediocre leader. No team outbursts or in fighting No one on the team does anything but support him - certainly he is not publicly questioned. Guys play hard for the guy - I honestly cant say theyve ever quit on him. I may not like him as a manager personally but I would not critique his leadership.

A Realistic Offseason
I think Renteria is a pretty good leader.

Because of a manager who also makes a lot of decisions that aren't ideal for maximizing runs? Girardi is not an analytical mind. Girardi experienced a lot of criticism for his in game decisions and bullpen work.

A Realistic Offseason
Sure, but the Dodgers still went with Barnes and Martin for the majority of this season.

Backed out of? Sorry if I don't trust a random internet stranger with $1000. Hilarious you think it was unreasonable for me not to trust you to pay $1000 just because. Likely you would have disappeared and created a new username. I have the Nats at 12-1 to win it all - bet with a reputable sportsbook that will pay me out immediately at the conclusion of the series. Why wouldn't I bet with an internet stranger instead?!?!?! Gee, I wonder why. What goal post did I move? My point is the Dodgers were not very high on Grandals defense - this was not a secret. While people cite hes the best defensive catcher in baseball using publicly available metrics, clearly the team (and league in general) don't agree with those metrics. If they did he wouldnt have had a hard time getting more than 60 million dollars - which was his top offer.

Yes, they sat Grandal in the playoffs and then let him walk because they had prospects behind him... Grandal signed a 1 year deal - the Dodgers could have had him on a two year deal if they wanted to move on when the prospects were ready. The Dodgers were not fans of Grandal - they did not like how he called/received a gamd. Idk what to tell you. So... your argument is grandal is the best catcher in baseball but the Dodgers had prospects in their system so they let him walk. The Dodgers just played Russell Martin for nearly half their games.
